Are you and your sweetheart looking for a place to branch out this winter and get an elevated perspective? Within the charming and upscale Village of Cheshire, located just 5 minutes from the shops, restaurants, and breweries in downtown Black Mountain, you'll find modern treehouses that are perfect for a cozy and convenient getaway for two (or a couples' getaway for up to 6)!

Cheshire Village Town Center

Veiled by lush trees, these modern treehouses offer a front-row seat to the changing seasons, and all of them are within walking distance of Cheshire Village’s town center where you’ll find plenty of green spaces, mountain views, and several dining options to enjoy.

Sake Sushi is Black Mountain's primary source for fresh sushi, sashimi, and hibachi, Black Bear Tavern serves up American classics like sandwiches, salads, and more, and Beradu Specialty Market, Kitchen & Bar is a new establishment offering an extensive selection of meats, seafood, and locally sourced produce. Beradu also operates as a restaurant and bar, so you can sit down to a delicious chef-made dinner with a signature cocktail–perfect for a date night that’s close to home!

If you’re traveling with the kiddos on your treehouse retreat, Cheshire Village also has a small playground within the community and is directly across the street from the Black Mountain YMCA. The treehouses are a quick 15-minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, a 20-minute drive to Biltmore, a 25-minute drive to downtown Asheville, and a 30–minute drive to Lake Lure.

Owl's Nest

 Owl’s Nest

While it was one of the original tree houses in the Village of Cheshire, Owl's Nest was recently upgraded with customized features and new furnishings. From the soaring vaulted ceilings to the reclaimed walnut floors to the locally sourced handmade ironwork throughout, this home exudes loveliness. You’ll enjoy high-speed WiFi, cable TV (with streaming options), and a custom surround sound system for inside and outside entertainment.

On colder days, cozy up around the wood-burning stone fireplace, and on warmer days, sit on one of four balconies to enjoy some afternoon tea or a glass of wine. Located on a quiet cul-de-sac, Owl’s Nest is away from all the noise, yet close to everything.

Serendipity Treehaus

Serendipity Treehaus

The definition of Serendipity is the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy way which is exactly what you can expect at this treehouse! Previously selected as Home of the Month by the Raleigh News and Observer, the architect of Serendipity Treehouse (Thomas Lawton) made the home blend softly into the hillside of the community by using native stones and landscaping along with cedar shingles.

Inside, a loft-like interior features clean, modern lines and lots of windows to invite the outside in. From the large outdoor fireplace to the high-end gourmet kitchen to the impeccable primary bath with stunning peach travertine tile, prepare to be dazzled!

 Dogwood Treehouse

Dogwood Treehouse is a gorgeous treehouse that also allows you to bring your pup along! After an activity-filled day, you’ll be excited to return for a soak in the private and luxurious hot tub before settling in on the cozy deck patio to relax and plan all the adventures you'll go on tomorrow. Listen to the wind sift through the leaves, and watch the sun make its

As the name suggests, you’ll feel inspired to relax and “idle” at this exquisite treehouse featuring luxury, custom interiors, cathedral ceilings, and a dreamy chef’s kitchen complete with top-of-the-line appliances, cookware, a wine cooler, and a coffee bar.

Spend your evenings on the wrap-around porch with lots of cozy lounge seating and dining space, soaking in the jacuzzi tub, or gathering around the outdoor fire pit before turning in for the best sleep of your life on the brand-new memory foam mattresses.

Ravenscroft

Featured in Old House Journal and WNC Magazine for its interior design blending Appalachian Americana and Moroccan-inspired spaces, Ravenscroft is brimming with charm. Throughout the home, you’ll find old postcards from Chimney Rock and the Blue Ridge Parkway and works by local artists that will make you feel enveloped in the culture of our region and like you’re living in a magazine spread come to life.

Perch on one of two decks as you sip your morning coffee, read your favorite book by the crackling fire in the living room, and dine al fresco on the front porch under the boughs of the river birch and rhododendrons.
