Susan is a third-generation native of the Swannanoa Valley and has been married to her husband, Bill, for over 40 years. She's been a reservationist with Greybeard Rentals for over 10 years and enjoys assisting renters in their search for the perfect vacation home. In her spare time, Susan loves walking, hiking local trails, flower gardening, getting together with friends, eating at the local Black Mountain and Asheville restaurants, and visiting her daughter, Carrie, and son-in-law, Will, in Macon, Georgia. 

Cameron Roberts

Cameron grew up in Memphis, TN where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from The University of Memphis. She moved to Western North Carolina in 2012 where she made the beautiful Montreat community her home along with her husband Bill who works as a Commercial Broker for Greybeard, their daughter Willa, and two dogs. In her free time, she enjoys hiking in Montreat, browsing antique and thrift shops, decorating, and completing home improvement projects.

Erin grew up in Spartanburg, SC, and attended college at Southern Wesleyan University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. During her college years, she fell in love with the mountains of SC/NC through hiking and backpacking. In 2017, she moved to Montreat, NC with her husband, Joey. Since then, she has been enjoying hiking and exploring new trails, spending time at Lake Susan, and caring for her house plants. She is thankful to live in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina!

Mandi Pike

Mandi joined the Greybeard team in the fall of 2017. She is from Gibsonville, NC, just east of Greensboro. She came to the Asheville area in 2005 to attend Montreat College. After graduation she returned home, only to move back to the mountains a year later. She now considers Asheville her home and loves discovering new places to go exploring. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, reading, writing and traveling the world.

Liz was born and raised in High Point, North Carolina. She moved to the area in 1997 to attend Montreat College, where she met her husband, Adam. Liz and Adam loved the area so much that they decided to settle in Black Mountain, and are grateful to be able to raise their children, Will and Emme, in such a friendly, dynamic and creative town. In her spare time, Liz enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, doing home improvement projects, decorating and entertaining.

Emily was born and raised in Tennessee, but she fell in love with the Asheville area after moving here to attend college. After earning her B.A. in English & Communication, she spent two years working in higher education where she discovered a love for marketing. When she's not creating web content or coordinating photoshoots, you'll likely find her hanging out in local restaurants or breweries, working on stained glass projects, or trying her hand at a new craft.

Caleb has lived in the Asheville area since 2007 after moving to the area for college. After graduating, he decided to call Western North Carolina "home" and took a position in higher education communications and marketing before joining the Greybeard team in 2014.

Caleb holds a B.A. in English and a M.S. in Business Management and Leadership. When he's not working on Greybeard's websites or coming up with new marketing initiatives, Caleb enjoys hanging out with his wife, son, and their dog Abbey as well as mountain biking, hiking, running, trying new restaurants, and listening to live music.

Bethany is a native of Black Mountain and joined the Greybeard rental team in February 2018.  She is a graduate of Western Carolina University where she studied Healthcare Management. Bethany enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She is married to Jackie Corn, Jr. of Hendersonville. They have 2 daughters named Gracie and Charlotte. 


Shavonne Wardwell

Shavonne grew up in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, and she moved to Black Mountain 15 years ago after traveling through. Not only did she fall in love with the area, she met and fell in love with her now husband, Benjamin, here as well. Together, they have 2 daughters, Ramona who is 9 and Vivian who is 6. In September, she will celebrate her first year at Greybeard.

Terri was born and raised in the Swannanoa Valley, making her a true local and expert on all things Black Mountain and Swannanoa. She holds a B.A. in Sociology from UNC-Asheville, and she has been married to her husband Tony for 24 wonderful years. Together, they have two children, Daniel and Anna, and a sweet little fur baby that is a pomeranian/sheltie mix named Max. In her free time, Terri enjoys spending quality time with her family and close friends.

Misty attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition at Columbia University in NYC where she obtained a Health Coach certification and earned the title of a certified Raw Food/ Vegan Chef. She moved to Asheville from Boston, MA in 2009, and she joined the Greybeard team in 2019 working as a housekeeper in short-term vacation rentals before transitioning to long-term maintenance coordinating in 2023.

Her favorite past times include gardening, cooking, fermenting, hiking, backpacking, spending time with friends, trying new restaurants, and mastering escape rooms with her husband, Brent, and daughters, Addison, Brynn, and Clover. She also enjoys spending quality time with her fur babies Poe the dog and Lenny the cat.

Teddy Smith joined the Greybeard Team in 2017. She graduated from Macalester College and also completed her Master's in Accountancy at Western Carolina University.  She has been working in the accounting field in the Black Mountain / Swannanoa Area for over 14 years.  She adores living in the mountains with her two kids and dog.  When she is not crunching numbers, Teddy enjoys hiking and seeing live music.

Born outside of Chicago, Rachel moved to the beautiful mountains of NC in 1998 to attend Montreat College for her bachelor’s degree and eventually earned a Master of Accounting from UNC Chapel Hill. She previously worked in public tax accounting before coming back to private accounting with Greybeard. Rachel is married with one daughter, and she enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, and spending time with family when she isn’t hard at work.

Diana Bundy

Diana is from Commerce, Georgia, just outside of Athens, where she attended the University of Georgia. She fell in love with the area through meeting locals and while working as Varsity Cheerleading Coach at Owen High School in Black Mountain. In addition to her five years and counting as a local coach, she has been part of the Greybeard family since 2017. Diana enjoys everything outdoors, crafting and wood-working, spending time in Georgia with her large family, and attending as many UGA football games that she can get to. She and her husband, Perry, who is a Marion native, welcomed their first child, Clint, this year.

Kristen is a Black Mountain native and has been on Greybeard's maintenance team since 2018. She studied Outdoor Education at Mars Hill College and Business Management at AB Tech. Kristen lives in Black Mountain with her husband, Trent, and daughter, Hannah. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and running. 

Whitney Edwards

Whitney is a Marion native where she lives with her husband, Brandon, and their two sons, Uriah and Canaan. She has a heart for serving and helping others which inspired her to earn her Associate of Applied Science in Medical Sonography from CCC&TI. In addition to her work at Greybeard, she owns and operates a small ultrasound business in Marion, providing ultrasounds to expectant mothers. When she’s not working hard in either office, you’ll find her spending time with family and friends, camping in their family RV, and watching her wild boys race their dirtbikes.

Mike Goodson

Mike is a licensed professional engineer with 30 years of service in state and local government. His forty years as a volunteer in the local fire department and 27 years as a reserve law enforcement officer in the local police department give him a unique set of skills and training. 

Vacation rentals in our beautiful, mountainous terrain can create unique safety challenges. Greybeard considers safety to be of paramount importance in the guest experience. The central office staff and many inspectors, housekeepers, and maintenance staff comprise the safety net to identify and resolve any potential safety concerns quickly, and Mike leads Greybeard's safety strategy and training.

Jane passed through Black Mountain 15 years ago and never left. She loves everything about the area, but especially the people. Jane has 3 wonderful children who also live in Black Mountain and two amazing granddaughters that light up her life. When asked about what she likes about working at Greybeard, Jane shared that she enjoys working with a team that works closely together and prioritizes the interest of clients, community, and coworkers.

Providing onboarding guidance to new homeowners 

Hannah is from Lumberton, NC and moved to Black Mountain in 2007. After graduating from Appalachian State University in 2014, where she earned a B.S. in Adapted Special Education, she decided to officially call the Valley home with her husband, Bradley. Carrying on the tradition, they are raising their daughter, Ellie, as a Mountaineer! When she's not meeting with prospective owners or helping onboard new vacation homes, she loves creekside picnics with her family, running, exploring new places and restaurants, and finding cozy spots to read.

Chip Craig, owner and founder of Greybeard Rentals & Realty, received a BA from Davidson College and earned a Masters of Management (MBA) from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Business. Chip previously served as director of marketing at the North Carolina Outward Bound School and also brings more than six years of commercial and consumer banking experience to the company. Chip's commitment to the community is extensive, currently serving as a member of the following boards. Buncombe County Tourism and Development Authority, Black Mountain Swannanoa Valley Endowment Fund, Buncombe County United Way, and Buncombe County Sports Commission. Chip has served for 8 years as an elected member of the Buncombe County Board of Education representing the Owen District and as a town commissioner for the Town of Montreat. When not in the office, Chip enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, trail running, skiing and kiteboarding. 

Rachael Lee

As the daughter of a Presbyterian minister, Rachael grew up coming to Montreat each summer. She was lucky enough to move to the area permanently in 1982. She and her husband Anthony, have two daughters and four granddaughters. Anthony teaches and coaches at the local high school. Rachael holds a B.A. in Sociology from UNC-Asheville. She is a deacon at Black Mountain Presbyterian. Some of Rachael's favorite Asheville activities include boating at Lake James, visiting the Asheville Botanical Gardens, NC Arboretum, and the Biltmore Gardens. She also really loves the 4 seasons of Western North Carolina.

This golden girl joined the Greybeard team in December 2022 and quickly became indispensable to daily operations. When she isn't boosting spirits or getting belly rubs and spoonfuls of peanut butter from the Greybeard gals, she's likely trying to fit seven tennis balls in her mouth at once or hanging out with one of her favorite humans—her sister Ellie.
