Renda hails from Florence, South Carolina where she was a school secretary, but has been living and loving the Black Mountain life (with its fresh air, cool breezes, and slower pace) since 2006. Before moving to the area, Renda attended Montreat Conferences in neighboring Montreat, NC for 10+ years. She is a mother of two and grammy of four. When Renda puts down the phone from booking dream vacations, she's probably headed to her house to begin digging in her yard, reading a good book, or enjoying time with her grandchildren.
Susan is a third generation native of the Swannanoa Valley. She has been married to her husband Bill for 38 years. She's been a reservationist with Greybeard Rentals for 6 years and enjoys assisting renters searching for their ideal vacation home. Her hobbies include walking, hiking local trails, and flower gardening. In her spare time, she enjoys getting together with friends, eating at the local Black Mountain and Asheville restaurants, and visiting her daughter, Carrie, and son-in-law Will in Macon, Georgia.
Like others on the Greybeard team, Renee Reed Raines is a third generation Black Mountain native with a wealth of local knowledge. She is a mother to two and a grandmother of one sweet granddaughter. Renee is married to her husband Tim Raines, who is also a native of the area and a Civics Teacher at the local high school. When she's not helping guests book their next Asheville vacation and confirming online reservations, you'll find Renee walking her dog, outdoors working in her yard, reading or cooking.
Liz was born and raised in High Point, North Carolina. She moved to the area in 1997 to attend Montreat College, where she met her husband, Adam. Liz and Adam loved the area so much that they decided to settle in Black Mountain, and are grateful to be able to raise their children, Will and Emme, in such a friendly, dynamic and creative town. In her spare time, Liz enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, doing home improvement projects, decorating and entertaining.
Lacey Deal is a native of the Asheville area. There is a deep-rooted love for the Blue Ridge Mountains in her family. She enjoys being outdoors, listening to live music, and traveling. She attended Appalachian State University. Lacey believes everyone should experience what the Asheville area has to offer and loves being a catalyst to make that happen for people!
Diana is from Commerce, Georgia, just outside of Athens -- where she attended at the University of Georgia. In addition to her work at Greybeard, she is also about to begin her 3rd year as the Owen High School Varsity Cheerleading Coach in Black Mountain. She fell in love with the area while working at the school and also through meeting locals. Her fiance is a Marion native and she and her fiance will be getting married in May. Diana enjoys everything outdoors, crafting and wood-working, spending time in Georgia with her large family as well attending as many UGA football games that she can get to. She is excited to now be a part of the Greybeard family.
Rachel Kauffman moved to the Black Mountain area in 1998 to attend Montreat College. After graduating in 2002, Rachel and her husband moved from the area. In 2006 they realized Black Mountain was the perfect place to live and made their way back. Rachel joined the Greybeard team in 2012. Rachel lives in Black Mountain with her husband and daughter. She enjoys hiking the area's numerous trails and spending time with friends and family.
Caleb was born in Portland, Oregon, but grew up in the south - Alabama, Tennessee and North Carolina. He has lived in the Asheville area since 2007 after moving to the area to pursue a degree at Montreat College. After graduating, he decided there was no other place on earth he would want to live and spent three years in higher education admissions, communications, and marketing before joining the Greybeard team in 2014. Caleb holds a B.A. in English and a M.S. in Business Management and Leadership. Caleb and his wife Elizabeth live in Black Mountain with their dog Abbey. When he's not working on Greybeard's websites or coming up with new marketing initiatives, Caleb enjoys mountain biking, hiking new trails, listening to live music, traveling, trying new restaurants, and reading and writing.
Ashley is a Black Mountain native, where she lives with her husband Kevin and children Kobe and Addison. Kobe recently graduated and plans to attend Western Carolina in the fall. Addison attends Owen Middle where she enjoys playing volleyball and softball. Ashley enjoys spending time with her family and watching her kids playing sports.
Tammy was born in South Carolina but has lived in the Asheville area since she was eight years old. Her husband, Todd, is an Asheville native. Tammy has an eye for quality work and when she's not in the office scheduling housekeepers and inspectors and managing housekeeping activities for homes in Greybeard's rental program, she loves refinishing and repurposing furniture pieces. Tammy and her husband of 33 years have two daughters Chanler and Lacie. Chanler competes in rodeos in Texas and her daughter Lacie is an accountant in the Asheville area. Tammy also enjoys horseback riding.
Chip Craig ,owner and founder of GreyBeard Realty and Greybeard Rentals, received a BA from Davidson College and earned a Masters of Management (MBA) from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Business. Chip previously served as director of marketing at the North Carolina Outward Bound School and also brings more than six years of commercial and consumer banking experience to the company. Chip's commitment to the community is extensive, and he is currently serving as an elected member of the Buncombe County Board of Education representing the Owen District. Board of Visitors for Davidson College, Board Member of the Buncombe County Tourism and Development Committee , and Board Member of the Black Mountain Swannanoa Valley Endowment Fund. When not in the office, Chip enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, trail running, skiing and backpacking.
Lisa was born and raised in the mountains of North Carolina. She and her husband have two adult sons and daughter in laws and one granddaughter. In Lisa's spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, vacationing at the beach and living life in the mountains.
