Team Greybeard works hard to help make guests' Asheville vacations as memorable and carefree as possible. We're also deeply committed to providing excellence in property management to over 450 (and growing) homeowners of vacation and long-term rental homes in our rental program. Whether you are a prospective homeowner, current homeowner, or guest -- we're here and happy to help.

Susan Cameron
Vacation Planner

Susan is a third generation native of the Swannanoa Valley. She has been married to her husband Bill for 38 years. She's been a reservationist with Greybeard Rentals for 6 years and enjoys assisting renters searching for their ideal vacation home. Her hobbies include walking, hiking local trails, and flower gardening. In her spare time, she enjoys getting together with friends, eating at the local Black Mountain and Asheville restaurants, and visiting her daughter, Carrie, and son-in-law Will in Macon, Georgia. 

Renee Raines
Vacation Planner

Like others on the Greybeard team, Renee Reed Raines is a third generation Black Mountain native with a wealth of local knowledge. She is a mother to two and a grandmother of one sweet granddaughter. Renee is married to her husband Tim Raines, who is also a native of the area and a Civics Teacher at the local high school. When she's not helping guests book their next Asheville vacation and confirming online reservations,  you'll find Renee walking her dog, outdoors working in her yard, reading or cooking. 

Mandi Pike
Vacation Planner

Mandi joined the Greybeard team in the fall of 2017. She is from Gibsonville, NC, just east of Greensboro. She came to the Asheville area in 2005 to attend Montreat College. After graduation she returned home, only to move back to the mountains a year later. She now considers Asheville her home and loves discovering new places to go exploring. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, reading, writing and traveling the world.  

Liz Johnson
Guest Services Coordinator

Liz was born and raised in High Point, North Carolina. She moved to the area in 1997 to attend Montreat College, where she met her husband, Adam. Liz and Adam loved the area so much that they decided to settle in Black Mountain, and are grateful to be able to raise their children, Will and Emme, in such a friendly, dynamic and creative town. In her spare time, Liz enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, doing home improvement projects, decorating and entertaining. 

Diana Bundy
McDowell County Housekeeping & Property Management Assistant

Diana is from Commerce, Georgia, just outside of Athens -- where she attended at the University of Georgia. In addition to her work at Greybeard, she is also about to begin her 3rd year as the Owen High School Varsity Cheerleading Coach in Black Mountain. She fell in love with the area while working at the school and also through meeting locals. Her fiance is a Marion native and she and her fiance will be getting married in May. Diana enjoys everything outdoors, crafting and wood-working, spending time in Georgia with her large family as well attending as many UGA football games that she can get to. She is excited to now be a part of the Greybeard family.

Bethany L. Corn
Long-term Rentals

Bethany is a native of Black Mountain and joined the Greybeard rental team in February 2018.  She is a graduate of Western Carolina University where she studied Healthcare Management. Bethany enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She is married to Jackie Corn, Jr. of Hendersonville. They have a daughter named Gracie and are expecting their second child this summer. 

Jane Hall
Front Desk Receptionist

Jane passed through Black Mountain 15 years ago and never left. She loves everything about the area, but especially the people. Jane has 3 wonderful children who also live in Black Mountain and two amazing granddaughters that light up her life. When asked about what she likes about working at Greybeard, Jane shared that she enjoys working with a team that works closely together and prioritizes the interest of clients, community, and coworkers. 

Rachael Lee
Rental Manager and Broker In Charge

As the daughter of a Presbyterian minister, Rachael grew up coming to Montreat each summer. She was lucky enough to move to the area permanently in 1982. She and her husband Anthony, have two daughters and three granddaughters. Anthony teaches and coaches at the local high school. Rachael holds a B.A. in Sociology from UNC-Asheville. She is a deacon at Black Mountain Presbyterian. Some of Rachael's favorite Asheville activities include boating at Lake James, visiting the Asheville Botanical Gardens, NC Arboretum, and the Biltmore Gardens. She also really loves the 4 seasons of Western North Carolina.

Teddy Smith
Accounting Manager

Teddy Smith joined the Greybeard Team in 2017.   She graduated Macalester College and is near completion of her Master's in Accountancy from Western Carolina University.  She has been working the in the accounting field in the Black Mountain / Swannanoa Area for over 14 years.  She adores living in the mountains with her two kids and dog.  When she is not crunching numbers, Teddy enjoys hiking and seeing live music.  

Caleb Hofheins
Marketing Operations Manager | Broker

Caleb was born in Portland, Oregon, but grew up in the south. He has lived in the Asheville area since 2007 after moving to the area for college.  After graduating, he decided there was no other place on earth he would want to live and spent three years in higher education admissions, communications, and marketing before joining the Greybeard team in 2014.  Caleb holds a B.A. in English and a M.S. in Business Management and Leadership. Caleb, his wife, and son live in Black Mountain with their dog Abbey. When he's not working on Greybeard's websites or coming up with new marketing initiatives, Caleb enjoys mountain biking, hiking new trails, listening to live music, traveling,  trying new restaurants, reading and writing. 

Ashley Bartlett
Housekeeping Director

Ashley is a Black Mountain native, where she lives with her husband Kevin and children Kobe and Addison.  Kobe recently graduated and plans to attend Western Carolina in the fall.  Addison attends Owen Middle where she enjoys playing volleyball and softball.  Ashley enjoys spending time with her family and watching her kids play sports.


Kristen Hensley
Property Services Manager/Keyless Entry Coordinator

Kristen is a Black Mountain native. She studied Outdoor Education at Mars Hill College and Business Management at ABTech. Kristen lives in the Black Mountain area with her husband, daughter, and puppy and enjoys running and watching her daughter play softball. 

Chip Craig
Owner & Broker/REALTOR

Chip Craig ,owner and founder of GreyBeard Realty and Greybeard Rentals, received a BA from Davidson College and earned a Masters of Management (MBA) from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Business. Chip previously served as director of marketing at the North Carolina Outward Bound School and also brings more than six years of commercial and consumer banking experience to the company. Chip's commitment to the community is extensive, and he is currently serving as an elected member of the Buncombe County Board of Education representing the Owen District. Board of Visitors for Davidson College, Board Member of the Buncombe County Tourism and Development Committee, and Board Member of the Black Mountain Swannanoa Valley Endowment Fund.  When not in the office, Chip enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, trail running, skiing and backpacking.

Lisa Godfrey
Long-term Rentals Management Assistant

Lisa was born and raised in the mountains of North Carolina. She and her husband have two adult sons and daughter in laws and one granddaughter. In Lisa's spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, vacationing at the beach and living life in the mountains.

Laura Watrous
Broker/Yancey and Mitchell County Sales and Rentals Specialist

Laura Watrous, with more than two decades of real estate experience, represents Greybeard Realty and Rentals in Burnsville, and the other communities of Mitchell and Yancey Counties. Laura gravitated from a career in advertising sales-marketing and management into real estate from a personal desire to invest, rehab, and landlord real property.  In 1999, she obtained her real estate license in Virginia and began serving others' real estate needs/desires as well.  When she and her family relocated to the North Carolina mountains in 2008, Laura began focusing on understanding the seasonal impact of vacationers on the local economies of Western NC’s small towns.  Laura brings extensive experience in residential real estate sales, long-term and vacation rental investing and management to her clients. She loves living in the NC mountains and states she finds great joy in sharing her enthusiasm with buyers, sellers, vacationers, and everyone in between. In her spare time, Laura pursues adventuring in the wonderful outdoor activities offered in western NC which includes long-distance running, hiking and water sports.
