For a great way to explore downtown Asheville, belly up to the bar, the handlebar, and pedal your way pub-style. Hop on the 13-person vehicle and enjoy a 40 to 90-minute city tour.   Tours end and begin at the Aloft Hotel in the heart of downtown Asheville and each tour is led by a tour driver.

Asheville has made a name for itself as “beer city USA”, as an archived Greybeard blog explains, and now you can have your own pub as you make your way through town. Riders are allowed to bring beer and wine, with some restrictions, onto the ride. For example, leave the kegs and liquor at home. The Pubcycle also supplies solo cups if needed.

The Pubcycle website does a great job of answering questions about the tours. For example, you can bring a whole group of 13 for an office party, a birthday celebration, or a family reunion. You also can bring 6 or 7 people and mix in with other riders. In addition, you can also come with fewer than 6 people and the company will try to a group together. Their tours begin at 4-5 p.m. during the week and can run until midnight. On weekends, the tours can begin around noon and continue til midnight. There is also a 3-person non-pedaling seat available on the Pubcycle.

The 1.5-hour Pubycycle tours typically makes 1-2 stops at Pack's Tavern, Conundrum, HiWire/Ben's Tuneup or Catawba Brewing. Current pricing can be found here. Visiting during the winter months? No worries, The Amazing Pubcycle is heated for the winter months.

Once you're in town, you can make your pedaling reservations online and hop on the Pubcycle and pedal your way through downtown Asheville. When selecting your tour, you may want to keep in mind that the 40-minute Nomad tour has no stops, whereas the 90-minute tour will typically have 1-2 stops.

While not required, tips are a great help to tour drivers living in the area!

The Amazing Pubcycle isn't your only creative way to explore downtown Asheville's beer scene!  Check out our site for other fun ways to drink in style, including, but not limited to Lazoom Comedy Tours, Asheville Brewery Tours, Asheville Brews Cruise and Brew-ED Tours.
