Description

Rustling Ridge is perfect for couples, families and large groups. This bucolic mountain getaway in scenic, uncongested Fairview, NC is in the middle of everywhere; Downtown Asheville, Biltmore Estate, Black Mountain, Blue Ridge Parkway, Chimney Rock, and the airport are all less than 30 scenic minutes away.

Situated on a large clearing in the center of 22 wooded acres this casually elegant Craftsman style home sleeps 8 in comfortable beds with luxurious linens.

The house features 2 beautiful, large stone fireplaces, one on each level – firewood included. The main level has an open spacious floor plan with kitchen, dining and living areas, as well as a king master suite, bedroom with a double bed and a 2nd full bath. This main level has large windows, French doors leading to the wrap around deck, screened porch with seating, and fabulous views. There is also a grill, a pantry, laundry, and garage – one floor living!

The fully-equipped and thoughtfully labeled modern kitchen includes place settings for 12, pottery mugs galore, and lots of wine glasses in the china cabinet. Twelve people can eat together in the dining area while sitting at the large table, kitchen counter and breakfast nook. Snacking on the deck is also nice.

The lower level has another beautiful stone fireplace, a spacious seating area, large TV, two more beautiful bedrooms (one with a queen and the other room has a king) and a full bath. All of these rooms have French doors opening to bright patios with more seating and more splendid forest. On either floor you can play board games, stream your favorite shows, surf the internet, or enjoy your music on the wireless speaker system.

The house is mountainside but has a large terraced yard with several stone patios, lots of seating, two fire pits, a corn hole game, and of course, a hammock. Bunk house has been converted into a game room with a ping pong table. A hot tub was added in Dec 2018 for your enjoyment!

Access the house via a private, winding, and well-kept mile-long gravel road. Slow and steady is the way to go, as stopping and starting during ascent may get your back wheels spinning. 4WD or AWD is strongly recommended.

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Rustling Ridge is located in Fairview. This home is approximately 30 minutes to Black Mountain, Asheville, Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Rustling Ridge is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash. 

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

You will receive check-in instructions prior to your arrival with driving directions and key access information. You do not need to stop by our office to pick up your keys. You will go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WILL THERE BE FIREWOOD AT THE HOUSE? 

Rustling Ridge has a wood burning fireplace and fire pit for guests to use. Firewood is not supplied by Greybeard. Some houses will have small supply of firewood for renter use; however, it is best to purchase your own small bundle of wood or Duraflame pressed logs at the local grocery store.

Cutting branches, limbs or trees on the property is strictly prohibited. You can use limbs found on the ground. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Rustling Ridge, but is offered via satellite. Streaming movies or music or playing internet-based games is not available. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.

It was the perfect retreat for a week of precious family time with our adult kids during this pandemic: internet was great for WFH, kitchen was overly well supplied to handle a lot of cooking (there's a good supermarket not so far away)The setting is gorgeous, the silence incredible (which lets you hear the "rustling" of the leaves) and the proximity of great hiking and rafting opportunities is a plus, as is the short drive to Asheville and Black Mountain for the occasional coffee or beer tasting. We loved to bring candles and turn on the string lights on the terrace by the fire pit for our evening dinners. The house was very comfortable with a lot of nooks and spaces so that everybody could find a place to read, work, have a chat or exercise simultaneously. It was very neat and had everything you would think you'd need -and labeled!<BR>It was important for us that our dog was welcomed. We would definitely love to come back.

The house is great! We enjoyed a wonderful weekend celebrating Birthdays and a early Thanksgiving! I would highly recommend a 4 wheel drive though if you visit in the fall! The leaves falling make the drive even more difficult! We had to use our 4 wheel to make it up to the house!

The property was perfect! It had everything we needed - sufficient gathering space(s) as well as sufficient spots for a LARGE family to find time alone. There is something for EVERYONE! The quality of the house, furnishings and finishes was great enough it felt like a vacation, but also a home. So many interesting spaces! From the bunk house to the porches to the fire pit to the multiple dens. It was great! Every single person - young to old loved it. We made great memories!

Where do I start . This home makes you feel like you never left you own home . It really does have everything. The views are amazing and the property is gorgeous. Thank you for opening up your home for us to enjoy. My kids had the time of there life and the little bunker house ..... what an extra bonus. Thanks again !
