Nestled amongst the moss, rhododendrons, and mountain laurel, Nearly Eden offers its guests privacy and seclusion. Wake up to the cool dawn, birds chirping outside your window and the subtle sounds of the farm across the way. Watch the sun slip over the mountains in the distance as you sip your coffee, or morning mimosa, along with fresh pumpkin bread from Four Sisters Bakery, on the front porch. With all it has to offer, Nearly Eden is a paradise built for two.

Inside you'll find an open floor-plan living space with the bedroom tucked away from the rest of the space. The modern kitchen is stocked with everything you need to craft delicious meals. Whip up your favorite lunch treat on the black granite countertops. With granite countertops and delightful red cabinets, you'll have a lovely time whipping up your treat or unpacking takeout from one of our lovely local restaurants.

Cozy up in front of the fire, with a movie on the tv, as you enjoy a rainbow roll and Japanese fried rice from Sake Sushi in Cheshire Village. Spend the latter part of your evening soaking in the hot tub on the back porch and watch the fireflies dance in the rhododendron groves in the summer. Spend the time you're not working, from the small workstation in the living area, exploring the beauty of the Asheville area. Drive the Blue Ridge Parkway to cruise along the mountain tops, stopping to capture a lovely moment or hike down to a small creek or vista. Be sure to stop into Asheville and take full advantage of the moniker Beer City by booking a guided brewery tour or creating your own!

Imbibe at the funky and locally sourced DSSOLVR enjoying one of their seasonal IPAs, stouts, meads, or sours. With a booming food scene, you're sure to find a restaurant, bar, or brewery to suit your taste. Venture down to the River Arts District, just a little southwest of downtown Asheville, and enjoy an evening stroll along the French Broad River on the newly developed Greenway. Grab a beer out on the lawn of the Asheville classic, New Belgium before heading home to Nearly Eden.

We loved the location. Along with being situated in a lovely area with plenty of privacy this home was also in the perfect spot to start off each morning for adventures around Black Mountain and Asheville.

I found this cabin online and let me first say the pictures do not give it justice. You have to go there and just experience the vibe and the spirit of the cabin! It was cozy and comfortable and it has everything you need. The hot tub was amazing to relax in after hiking through the mountains. The views were amazing and we loved sitting on the porch drinking our coffee. Thank you for a much needed getaway!

Beautiful Eden

We spent a 3-day weekend at the nearly Eden cabin. This is a marvelous cabin for a couple. Located at the foot of a mountain next to alama farm with plenty of privacy and a hot tub, nearly Eden is a perfect place for a couple to get some time alone and be close to the mountains and all of its beauty. We really enjoyed the porch, the bed was soft, the cabin was extremely clean. Black Mountain is only a few minutes drive and you can get just about everything you need there

The cabin inside and out is so beautiful and nice. The location was quite and felt very private but not far away from things you wanted to do. Our stay was wonderful and the little extra touches the rental company did made our stay great. The property was very clean and inviting. Would stay here again in the future.

Hot tub was something to look forward to at the end of a 10-mile hike everyday. Great kitchen! Comfy bed! Reliable internet! Peaceful surroundings! What else could you possibly desire?

This is a great little hideaway and was just enough space for the two of us to be very comfortable. Very nice to have an indoor gas fireplace and the outdoor hot tub! The layout is very nice and clean. We enjoyed waking up to the rooster and then seeing the alpacas, donkey and hens from the front porch and when driving in/out! Very convenient short drive to Black Mountain.

We loved our stay at Nearly Eden. The cabin is the perfect size for two people. The front porch was our favorite part -- in the distance you see the mtns and closer up you can watch the alpacas, a donkey, and some chickens roam around the barnyard. We loved that it was just a few minutes from downtown Black Mtn.

The cabin was just right from location (private but near other civilization), scenic views, size of cabin, nice decor and ameneties, all to being near many great attractions (food, hikes, shopping, etc.). On top of it all seeing the Alpaca farm (across from cabin) upon leaving and returning to cabin always made me smile and chuckle. Lovely little gem of a rental. So glad we booked the stay! Thanks!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nearly Eden. What a beautiful and cozy cabin to get away with the hubby. We just loved waking up, turning on the fireplace, and listening to the wild turkeys, cows, and roosters in the morning. There were so many hiking spots, restaurants, shops, and attractions within a short driving distance, and neigbor next door (who owns the alpacas, chickens and donkey) was just lovely to talk to. He brought us some fresh eggs for breakfast!

My husband and I enjoyed the beautiful view of the mountains from the front porch, and it was special to have our hot beverages in the morning while sitting in the rocking chairs listening to the sounds of nature. We also truly enjoyed the beauty of the cabin.

Everything about this cabin was perfect from the location to the "woodsy cabin" smell! The cabin was so clean upon our arrival and everything was neat and orderly. We cooked our own dinner 2 nights and everything we needed was stocked in the kitchen (except food and condiments, of course) and that made cooking breakfast and dinner a breeze. The view was spectacular and I loved seeing the alpacas every day. The whole rental process was a breeze, so easy and hassle free, I was almost concerned something would go wrong, but it didn't. The only issue I had (and it's a personal preference) is that the water did not get hot enough, maybe the temperature was set lower than I prefer. My husband and I enjoyed our quiet time together, as this past year was a rough one for us, this was the perfect getaway for him and I to focus on each other and get back on track without distractions! We will definitely make this a yearly spot for us!

We really enjoyed the hot tub, clean and comfortable beds, and the location. It was close to down town Asheville which saved on driving time. The neighbor was very nice as we talked to him about his alpacas. The check in and out procedure was easy and we appreciated the in-depth instructions on what was expected of us. We will definitely be coming back.

The view was spectacular. The cabin was tucked away perfectly. Loved the landscape. It was very private and exactly what I wanted. The town was very beautiful and traveling to other near by cities was easy. It was a perfect getaway for my husband and I. I am so glad I chose Nearly Eden and oh my gosh the mountain air. Can't quite put my finger on it but the sweet smells was amazing.

We were very pleased with the rental experience. From start to finish everything was easy and no hassle at all. The pictures did not do the cabin justice as it was beautiful. Don't get me wrong the pictures sold us to the cabin but looking at it in person was stunning. We loved how tidy the cabin was and quaint. It had all the necessary items that you would need and some extras left out for you along with some amazing homemade bread. The jacuzzi was marvelous and tucked away at the rear of the cabin. Defintely a private location with the convenience of having stores nearby for your needs.

My husband and I enjoyed Eden Nest very much! The location was extremely convenient. The cabin itself couldn’t be better! I really appreciated the mix of rustic and modern decor. The owners really put a tremendous amount of attention and thought into every detail of this cabin. We were extremely comfortable during our stay.
We had a very minor plumbing leak and it was taken care of immediately, at no inconvenience to us.
We enjoyed this cabin immensely (over others that we have rented) !!

It was the perfect place for us. Very secluded, meticulously maintained, beautiful interior.
Everything you would need in a kitchen. The fireplace made it so cozy. To be able to wake up in the morning go into a hot tub and then have breakfast looking out over the mountains it doesn't get any better!

A Week in Nearly Eden

We enjoyed our week in the Asheville/Black Mountain area. Nearly Eden was in a perfect location to explore the entire area - we walked the town of Black Mountain, explored the Montreat area, toured the Biltmore Estate, and got a good history and overview of Asheville from the Hop On/Hop Off Trolley. We also hiked to the Catawba Falls and drove the Blue Ridge Parkway to Mount Mitchell, Craggy Gardens and Craggy Pinnacle. Nearly Eden was the perfect size cabin for the 2 of us and we enjoyed the view of the mountains from the front porch and the hot tub out back.

I had such a wonderful time at this property. The management was responsive & professional. The hot tub was cleaned and sealed for our arrival and felt like we were in the middle of the woods. The views were great and there were so many different birds singing. The washer and dryer was a treat. Didn't have to do laundry after getting home from vacation! I would recommend!

Wonderful cabin near Blck Mountain NC. We escaped the heat for a weekend in the mountains. This cabin was well appointed, private, and included a hot tub. Greybeard was very helpful with suggestions on places to go and things to do. Thanks for a great weekend!!

It was absolutely wonderful. We loved the fully stocked kitchen and we utilized it all weekend. The view was beautiful and we enjoyed the privacy in the back. We loved the hot tub, especially since the nights got cold. We rafters and hiked to nearby waterfalls in the area. The downtown area in Black Mountain is quaint and lovely with wonderful restaurant.

Looking for a quiet, romantic getaway near Asheville, I spent many many hours searching for the perfect cabin to suit my needs. I'm glad I did, because had I stopped earlier, I would not have discovered Greybeard Rentals. Secluded in a small community in Black Mountain conveniently located minutes from downtown Asheville, Nearly Eden was perfect. Our original plan was to spend our nights in the cabin after long days of hiking and sightseeing. Upon stepping inside, our plan quickly changed. We both quickly agreed that we should take full advantage of this beautiful property. This flawlessly maintained 1-bedroom, 1-bath property provides a perfect balance of rustic styling and modern amentities. Comfortable, private, and reasonably priced, Nearly Eden is the perfect place for an extended vacation or a weekend getaway. The staff at Greybeard Rentals are among the most professional I've ever worked with. From the time I made my payment until the day we checked in, I was provided with constant updates of things to do and places to visit during our stay.

What did I like the most? The fully stocked kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our own meals without having to bring anything from home. The fireplace kept us warm on chilly mountain nights while inside the cabin. The hot tub kept us warm on the outside.

What could be improved upon? Absolutely nothing. Our stay at Nearly Eden was perfect!

During your stay, be sure to download the mobile app for ideas of what to see and do. We visited Looking Glass Creamery, The Chocolate Fetish, Roots as Fruits, and Dobra Tea.

For all my future visits to Asheville, Greybeard Rentals will be my first stop!

My husband and I had a very relaxing weekend get away at Nearly Eden. This cabin is very private and so peaceful. The weather was beautiful and the view from the front porch was breath taken. My wife and I spent a phenomenal week at Nearly Eden. The cabin was beautiful and well-equipped, exactly as much space and seclusion as we needed while still being convenient to Black Mountain, Montreat and Asheville. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub but found that the water level kept decreasing- that should looked into, but it might very well have been user error. Would absolutely recommend highly without reservations. I mean, we have no reservations about recommending it, and you should reserve it because it's wonderful.

While my husband and I love a nice hotel room, when traveling for more than a few days we crave more space. This cabin has all the comforts of home, and then some. Every room is beautifully furnished, the retro style kitchen a special touch. Loved having coffee on the front porch rocking chairs...watching the fog burn off the mountains every morning... and relaxing in the private hot tub on the back patio each evening. The location is perfect! Such an easy drive... no steep hills or switchbacks to navigate. Less than 10 minutes to downtown Black Mountain and an easy drive to Asheville. Also, booking with Greybeard is a must. From the info filled App to the personal attention (Tina & Renda)...everything was so easy. Just the way a vacation should be! :)

It's rare that you can look online and see something that looks awesome, then actually see the place and it be everything you wanted and more. From the location of the cabin, to cleanliness upon arrival, and interaction with staff, I could not have asked for better service. My wife in now convinced she wants to buy a house in the area.

Nearly Eden was a very comfortable cabin for our stay. My poison ivy kept me out of the hottub, but other than that, it was what we expected, and a little more. Cabin was very clean and quiet, great for out stay. And a loaf of pumpkin bread was waiting upon our arrival. The only oddity was someone's pole building in the front of the cabin. We would happily stay here in the future. Very handy location for exploring the Asheville and Black Mountain areas.

We stayed at Nearly Eden for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it! We were a little unsure about accessibility in the winter, but we had no problems. The cabin was cozy and well-equipped. We were within easy driving distance of Black Mountain, Montreat, and Asheville. We had a lovely time and hope to return someday.

Our experience with Graybeard Rentals was perfect. Very kind group of people. There was even a delicious loaf of pumpkin spice bread in our cabin upon arrival. Cabin was exactly as pictured and described. Clean, updated, sophisticated, and cozy. It is on a residential street but tucked away in an acre of woods. Front porch has a bit of a view of the majestic mountains. A peaceful and safe setting. Very convenient location for Asheville, Blue Ridge Parkway and hiking. Had concerns with another rental and Susan from Greybeard Rentals immediately coordinated a move to this lovely cabin. Will happily stay again and rent through Greybeard Rentals.

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. The cabin was everything we wanted it would be--comfortable, quiet, close to town. And the bread from the local bakery was such a wonderful surprise! We loved looking at the little pigs and goats who live along the road to the cabin. We definitely hope to stay here again.

We had a great experience at Nearly Eden. We were happy with how clean and nice the house was inside. They had everything you could possibly need to cook with or use in the kitchen. The furniture was very nice and clean. The hot tub was great at night even when it was raining. The phone number we were given didn't work and the number on the house was different then our paper work. If we go back to ashville we would def. stay at Nearly Eden again.

Perfect sized Cabin with all of the modern amenities. Huge front porch to enjoy breakfast, coffee, and a book. Hot tub was super relaxing in the morning and the evening! Cabin is fairly close to a few other houses but still very quiet. We absolutely loved staying here and will be back!

This cabin is beautiful and located in a perfectly quaint area of Black Mountain, just minutes from the city. It is modern and rustic and the perfect retreat for couples. This was a last minute trip to the mountains for my mother's birthday. We really enjoyed the cabin. It's very cozy and has everything you need. The hot tub was a nice plus after a long day of riding in the car. We were able to quickly get to Asheville, Hendersonville, Lake Lure, and Chimney Rock. Graybeard Rentals was so easy to use!

We stayed at Nearly Eden for our honeymoon and really enjoyed the experience. The cabin was very clean when we arrived. It was a cozy, fairly secluded spot for our week alone. We loved that the cabin was located close enough (25-30 minutes) to downtown Asheville that it was easy to make the trip over, but far enough that we could get the away-from-it-all feeling when we wanted to. Don't miss out on the hiking opportunities along the Blue Ridge Parkway and in Pisgah National Forest. Our favorite was Looking Glass Rock in Pisgah. And if you love beer like we do, you have to hit up some of Asheville's breweries and beer-focused bars. The Thirsty Monk was our favorite - and if you go to Pisgah to hike, stop by Oskar Blues Brewery in Brevard on your way back.

The cabin is located in the beautiful Black Mountains. It was so peaceful and relaxing, we did not want to leave. Yet it was close to all everything that you needed for your stay. The cabin is fully equip. It has two bedrooms. We spend most of our time on the veranda, in the morning with coffee watching the beautiful sunrises and at night time with a glass of wine listening to the animal sounds.

I was amazed as soon as we pulled in. I like how the cabin is secluded by the woods. Waking up in the morning and having coffee on the front porch was very peaceful. There are close resteraunts in downtown Black Mountain. Asheville is only 15-20 minutes away, depending on traffic. I will definatley recommend this to family and friends. I can not wait to go back.

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Nearly Eden is located in Black Mountain. This home is approximately an 8-minute drive to downtown Black Mountain and approximately a 25-minute drive to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Nearly Eden is not “pet friendly.” Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet friendly property during your visit, you will be charged a minimum of $600 to clean carpets, upholstered furniture and complete air purification measures. Bringing a pet to a house that is not pet-friendly without owner consent or permission from Greybeard is grounds for termination of the rental agreement without refund. If you must travel with your pet, please contact us for local boarding recommendations. More info about service animals and the ADA is available here.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Nearly Eden has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and select option 1, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION?

Gas logs are not in operation May through September due to the warmer summer months.

IS THERE AN OUTDOOR FIRE PIT?

This home does not provide an outdoor fire pit. Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit, and you cannot bring your own portable fire pit.

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Nearly Eden. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
