The Asheville area encourages outdoor family activities, whether it’s hiking, biking or white water rafting. In addition to these adventures, however, families can explore a variety of museums, historical sites, athletic events and tours of interest. To get your family out and about in Asheville, we have provided the following brief descriptions of places and things we have enjoyed with our families. Asheville has so much to offer.  If you have participated in something or been somewhere that we’ve missed, please share it with us, and we will update our list. Let us know what we’re missing!

Asheville is a mountain paradise for the well-traveled foodie, art observer, adventurous beer fanatic and die-hard outdoor enthusiast. No matter where your interests lie – there is so much opportunity to feed your passion (in just about anything). Boasting a large stretch of the Blue Ridge Parkway, over 44 Breweries, award-winning Restaurants, 30+ downtown art galleries (not to mention the 185 artist studios in the River Arts District), amazing festivals and access to countless hiking trail systems… the Asheville and Black Mountain areas will not disappoint the adventure you’re craving.
