Asheville's reputation as a beer mecca has naturally resulted in a beer scene that offers a wide range of ways to enjoy the world of beer through beer tasting, brewery tours, and crawls around town. Try one of the tours below to get an in-depth overview of our city's beer, the brewing process, and Asheville's history.

If you decide you want to keep your exploration into Asheville beer simple... nationally-known New Belgium Brewing and Sierra Nevada Brewing have some impressive operations that you can check out, just pick a few popular breweries to visit on your own, or hang out in Asheville's popular South Slope Brewery district to get a nice sampling.

Asheville Beer Tours

LaZoom Comedy Tours

Lazoom Comedy Tour offers an opportunity for guests to learn about Asheville's history while enjoying a healthy dose of laughter with a cold Asheville brew (or wine) in hand. Characters like Cookie Carter and the Nuns are guaranteed to keep you entertained for hours. Guests can purchase beer or wine from the departing location of the tour at French Broad Food Coop or Green Man Brewery (a stop during the tour) and enjoy while on the tour.

A variety of LaZoom Tours are offered including the 90-minute City Comedy tour, The Haunted Comedy tour (September 30th-October 31st), the Kid's Comedy Tour (developed for the 5-12-year-old crowd), and the Band and Beer tours.

The Amazing Pubcycle

Despite the combo of exercise and beer, this Asheville activity is a hit. The Asheville pubcycle is a 13-person-motorized-pedaling-beer-drinking experience that is in a class of its own. Technically, 10 people can pedal and 3 can sit out on the action and just enjoy the ride. The 1.5-hour pub tour has two brewery stops, and all tours are BYOB.

Asheville Brewery Tours

Combine a passenger van with friends or family, being in Asheville, and drinking beer while someone else drives you around, and you've got a recipe for a good time. Asheville Brewery Tour offers a variety of brewery tour packages. The primary tour types are mobile tours or walking tours. Mobile tours head to breweries like Highland Brewing, Pisgah Brewing, Upcountry Brewing Co., Oyster House Brewing, Green Man Brewery, Catawba Brewing Company, and more. Walking tours visit breweries such as Bhramari Brewhouse, Ben's Tune-Up, Greenman, Hi-Wire Brewing, Catawba Brewing, and Twin Leaf Brewery. Some of their walking tours are also dog-friendly!

Most tours run to four breweries including Pisgah Brewing in Black Mountain, Hi-Wire Brewing, French Broad Brewing, and Catawba Brewing (or some variation).
