Lush green fairways, crisp mountain air, rolling terrain and beautiful mountain landscapes are just a few of the reasons to treat yourself to some of the best golf in the country. We have put together a list of four of our favorite courses.

Grove Park Golf Course

The Grove Park Inn’s golf course has been rated among the top 10 courses in North Carolina by Golfweek Magazine in 2009. This spectacular course was created by renowned designer Donald Ross. PGA stars Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus and even President Obama have played at this course.

Mt Mitchell Golf Course

Given a 4 and a half star rating by Golf Digest Magazine, this course is known for its beautiful greens and stunning mountain views. It has no blind shots and is located in the Toe River Valley with basically flat terrain for the actual course. The golf course opens in April and closes during November.

Black Mountain Golf Course

Established in 1929, The Black Mountain Golf Club, located at the foot of the beautiful Black Mountain range, is a par 71, 6,215 yard 18 hole course. At one point, this course that was designed by Donald Ross, held the record for the longest hole in the world at 747 yards (par 6 17th hole). The course is located within minutes of downtown Black Mountain and 15 minutes from Asheville. Golfers can take a break at the Tap-In Grill.

Reems Creek Golf Club

The Reems Creek Golf Club is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the beautiful area of Weaverville, North Carolina, neighboring the Asheville area. The course offers a secluded setting, regularly rated 4 stars on Golf Digest's prestigious "Places to Play" list.
