Things to Do & Events

With Memorial Day Weekend drawing to a close, summer is officially on its way. And it isn’t too early to start planning your July 4th vacation in western NC. Just look at some of the Black Mountain and Montreat events occurring around July 4th.

Every Thursday, enjoy free music at Park Rhythms, an outdoor concert at Lake Tomahawk from 7 to 9 PM. Bring a chair or blanket and take advantage of this pleasant evening affair. On July 4th, check out the Montreat July 4th parade that sets off at 10 AM. Later in the day, there’s a Downtown Street Dance and Fireworks celebration. That all begins at 4 PM on Sutton Street with fireworks beginning at dark. And if you’re looking for a more strenuous way to celebration this national holiday, join the Independence Day Fireworks Hike which begins at 6 PM and requires pre-registration.

If you want to take full advantage of these special activities, start off by booking your Black Mountain rental cottage or Montreat rental home today. Greybeard Rentals has several rental homes still available, and we would be happy to assist you in selecting the best home for your family or group. And if you want suggestions of other possible activities, look at our Family Fun webpage or contact Greybeard Rentals Contact directly. Don’t let summer go by without a visit to Black Mountain.
