An Asheville autumn outing can be all about leaves, but did you know that we also have an incredible number of migrating bird species in the fall? Why not incorporate the two activities and head on up our way for leaf peeping and bird watching? Venture Birding Tours offers several local trips so you can take advantage of their expertise and learn more about the birds and wildflowers in western NC.

Asheville Birding Venture Birding Tours offers several organized trips, but, if you have something in particular in mind, you can also organize a custom tour from their website above. You can choose from one person to four to even larger groups and for a small fee lunch can be included. If you are a bird-watching novice and want to know how to begin, they also offer Birding Basic Tours which include instruction as well as top ten locations for birding in the Asheville area. It’s a cool, little bit different way to enjoy and appreciate the local foliage while you’re pursuing another interest simultaneously.

Another possible activity that incorporates leaves without having them the main focus is through Greybeard Rentals’ Outdoor Adventure Package. We offer a package through French Broad Rafting and Ziplining the offers half trips over the river and through the woods. It’s up to you to find your way to grandmother’s house! This package is a great family outing that offers excitement while including magnificent scenery.

And of course, Greybeard Rentals has a great selection of Asheville area log cabin rentals to accommodate various size groups. So make your plans now. Come solo for a great fall getaway or plan that family trip that never really happened over the summer. There’s still tons to do up here, and it’s not all about the leaves.
