Celebrate “the sweet life” through Italian-themed experiences, sipping wine at Biltmore's award-winning Winery, and savoring exceptional cuisine at the estate's restaurants. Summer is also a great time to enjoy the great outdoors, and at Biltmore, there are endless outdoor adventures to embark on. Biltmore House embodies a European-inspired setting tucked amid the Blue Ridge Mountains in Asheville. Visit this summer to get an up-close look at the historic French château amid its 8,000 acres of sublime gardens, lush landscapes, and thriving wildlife.

Summer at Biltmore Experiences: 

Italian Renaissance Alive-Making its world premiere at Biltmore, Grande Experiences’ all-new multi-sensory experience takes you on an enthralling journey across Italy. Set to a powerful operatic score, this captivating, must-see experience highlights the masterworks of Michelangelo, Raphael, Botticelli, and Caravaggio.

Ciao! From Italy Sculptural Postcard Display-This large-scale outdoor display combines botanical designs with authentic messages written by Vanderbilt himself. Beautifully handcrafted with natural elements, each sculptural postcard depicts a location or landmark Vanderbilt visited more than a century ago. Adding to the charm and visual appeal of the display is the G-scale model train that travels in and out of each postcard—sure to be a favorite with the kiddos and train enthusiasts in your group!

  • Goats taking it easy in the farmyard.

    Antler Hill Barn Film Series-From July 6-27, you and your family can enjoy an outdoor movie night at the Antler Hill Barn. Come early to find a good seat, play lawn games, and enjoy tasty snack options available for purchase from The Smokehouse Food Truck and The Creamery. Below is the schedule of films:

  • Naturalist Talks-Join the estate's knowledgeable Outdoor Adventure Center guides for an engaging and informative talk about some of the wildlife that calls the estate home. Hosted in Antler Hill Village’s historic Horse Barn, these brief presentations will introduce you to different wild Biltmore inhabitants each month (June will cover Bears and July will cover Turtles). Find out more about their life cycles and behaviors, including how they interact with humans. The talks are filled with fascinating facts about each creature profiled, and they are sure to inspire a deeper connection to the natural world around you.
  • Farmyard Visits-Visit Antler Hill Farm for a complimentary introduction to farm life and farm animals that were an integral part of life on the estate. Animals residing at the Farmyard may include laying hens, lambs, calves, goats, and draft horses.
  • Guided Raft Trip-Cool off from the summer heat by sitting back and taking in the breathtaking beauty of the estate while a knowledgeable guide paddles your raft down the French Broad River. 
  • Westover Woods Hike-This 2-mile classic-style hike through the woods and meadows behind Antler Hill Village will be led by an expert guide from the Outdoor Adventure Center who will share interesting facts about the wildlife, birds, and trees you’ll see along the way. Crossing dirt rails with uneven terrain, possible roots, rocks, and mud, this hike is recommended for more experienced hikers in good physical condition.
