Tulip Cottage, built in 2011, is named for the Tulip Poplar trees in the yard. The cottage is a healthy-built, environmentally friendly Energy Star-rated home. Easy walking distance to downtown Black Mountain and Lake Tomahawk. This comfortable, unique home features custom cabinetry and woodworking, and a screened-in porch, in a beautiful wooded setting. This three-bedroom, two-bath home sleeps six, and sheets and towels are provided. Includes WiFi, Cable TV, Dishwasher, and Laundry.

House layout: Main floor: Living room with TV; kitchen and dining area; laundry room; full hall bath; Bedroom with a queen bed. Upstairs: a full hall bath and 2 bedrooms each with queen beds.

Please note: There is an OUTDOOR security camera aimed at the driveway. The owner will be keeping a red Chevrolet truck parked at the end of the driveway, beyond the gravel, until May. It does not impact parking. This house is pet friendly with an additional pet fee.

After visiting the area for 10 years, Tulip Cottage is one of the best places we’ve stayed & would definitely stay here again. This home is very nice, with an excellent layout & we really appreciated the attention to all the high quality details. It’s one of the best equipped & most comfortable homes we’ve ever stayed in. We enjoyed both the screen porch & front porch & the location cannot be beat. Looking forward to staying here next year!

Tulip Cottage was a delightful house. It was very nicely decorated and exceptionally well outfitted in terms of the kitchen. Screened porch was especially nice and well enjoyed by our group. .

The house was very nice and clean. We enjoyed the well stocked kitchen and large dining table. The screen porch was also a nice place to have coffee in the morning.

We had a wonderful time at the Tulip Cottage. The house is beautiful and is located within walking distance to downtown and Lake Tomahawk. We would definitely stay here again next time we travel to Black Mountain.

Our family stayed in this cottage over a long weekend and we couldn't have asked for a nicer place. The cleaning crew did a wonderful job, as the house was spotless. Every chair was comfy and the kitchen was easy to cook in. We will be back to visit again soon, Tulip Cottage! Thank you Greybeard for the great stay!

Cabin was well located for shopping the small downtown stores and walking the nice path around Lake Tommahalk. There was easy access to I-40 and short drive to Asheville. We had 6 adults and all enjoyed the cabin. We would return again.

We love the Black Mountain area. Tulip Cottage is an ideal location. A quick walk to downtown Black Mtn, and even shorter walk to Lake Tomahawk. The property is very nice. I enjoyed reading on the screened in porch. We did the Montreat trails during our stay and they are a short drive from the house. Likely will return in 2019.

My family and I very much enjoyed our holiday at the Tulip Cottage. The location is great, within easy walking distance of Lake Tomahawk, the pool, and to the many shops and restaurants of Black Mountain. The home is nicely appointed, with three comfortable bedrooms, each with privacy shades which ensures a restful nights (and mornings!) sleep. We spent a lot of time on the screened porch as a family, which is accessible to both the front and back yards. Walks around the neighborhood were enjoyable, with friendly homeowners treating us like family. Overall, a wonderful stay!

Tulip Cottage is an awesome house. The house itself is spotless, up-todate, and we loved the screened porch. With the keyless entry, we felt safe and there was no hassle of having to check-in and out at another location. The home is in a very quiet location. We can't wait to visit again!

Our primary plans were to visit the Biltmore and the cottage made for quick and easy access to that site. The area around the cottage was very quiet with plenty of eateries and grocers close by.

My husband, our 2 teenage sons, and 2 dogs had a great stay in Tulip Cottage. The house is very well taken care of and spotlessly clean. Best equipped kitchen of any vacation rental we've ever seen. Excellent neighborhood and easy walk to town! Loved it!!

Our family came together in Tulip Cottage for Thanksgiving, there were six of us and each couple had a spacious bedroom. We had guests for Thanksgiving and we loved the screened porch and were able to seat nine for dinner. The house is very clean, comfortable and well-stocked with condiments and kitchen tools. Our dogs appreciated being with us and the neighborhood provided a great place to walk, very close to Tomahawk Lake and a short drive to Montreat. Nice shopping in Black Mountain, only a short drive to Asheville. Family members mountain biked, hiked, shopped and took in the brew pubs of Asheville. Downtown Black Mountain is a gem of good restaurants and varied shops. We all loved the week we spent there.

Four of us spent a long weekend at the Tulip Cottage and we all loved it. It is as comfortable as you could ask for. The kitchen has everything you could need. We enjoyed the screened porch every evening. Easy walk to downtown through the cute neighborhood and the drive to Asheville is really easy and so pretty. Would definetely stay there again.

We had a lovely weekend here! We were in town for the Spartan Race so it was very convenient to that. Well appointed and comfy home, loved the screened in porch! Very clean, had everything we needed. Walking distance to the cute downtown of Black Mountain and just a 15-20 minutes drive from Asheville.

Our children joined us from Virginia and Asheville for family time. Enjoyed walking in Black Mountain, the Tailgate Fresh Market and great restaurants -Dark City, Fresh Woodfired Pizza, Black Mountain Bistro, Trailhead and Louise's. Discovered cheeses from Looking Glass Creamery, ice cream from Killians, fun shops, wonderful people.

We had a lovely stay at this cozy home. Very tastefully decorated with many nice features. We loved the sunporch and used the grill on the deck. We used the child gate to keep our pets on the deck. We enjoyed great walks to and around the gate. Next time we bring tennis racquets! (assume public courts?). It was a short drive to Asheville for the day and a short walk into town in the AM for coffee and shopping.

Tulip Cottage is a charming rental within walking distance of downtown. Its a great place to rest and relax with family. In our case, we came from Charleston, Hickory and Asheville to share early holiday time together.

Beautiful, quaint cottage in Black Mountain. We kicked up at the last minute and came across this gem as we were looking for a place to stay for the Spartan race. It was minutes away from the event. The house was very clean and had a wonderful enclosed back patio that we enjoyed sitting in. The decor was very nice with a cottage feel. The only thing that we discovered on the last night that kinda freaked us all our was the creepy lamp in the living room! Overall though, we really enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful weekend in Black Mountain, and the home was lovely and comfortable. We would have loved a hair dryer, and we did not have quite enough towels for six people. We did find some much smaller towels in the drawers so we made do.Otherwise, it was very comfortable and decorated just beautifully and with such a welcome feeling to the whole place.

Tulip Cottage is wonderful. Proximity to Lake Tomahawk is a short walk and to the downtown Black Mountain shops. Wonderful kitchen Terrific screened in porch. It is a well built home. It is the nicest home away from home we have ever rented!

What a way to start Thanksgiving day, a dusting of snow! We had a lovely family trip hiking Lookout Mountain, Asheville, brunch at the Grove Park Inn, Catawaba Falls, many loops around Lake Tomahawk, shopping in Black Mountain.

This was our first time doing business with your company and everything was wonderful. The house was beautiful and easy to get to. Thank you for the pumpkin bread as well, that was a nice touch. We will be coming back soon and we would recommend the Tulip Cottage to anyone looking for a rental in the Asheville area.

FAQs

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance . Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Tulip Cottage is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash. 

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Tulip Cottage has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Tulip Cottage. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
