Enjoy Ravenscroft, a beautiful home in the Village of Cheshire. The carefully cultivated decor is a delight and will leave you feeling like you're living in a magazine spread. Featured in 'Old House Journal' and 'WNC Magazine' for the stunning interior design that blends a modern setting with Appalachian Americana and Moroccan-inspired spaces, this home is a charming place to stay. From your perch on any of the two decks, survey the other Arts and Crafts style homes as you sip your morning coffee and watch the dew glisten on the lush landscaping.

The main level of the home is cozy, warm, and delightfully Appalachian. Featuring old postcards from Chimney Rock and the Blue Ridge Parkway, and works by local artists, you'll feel enveloped in the culture of our region. Craft your meals in the light and fresh kitchen, equipped with marble countertops and stainless steel appliances with a gas range. Let the fire crackle behind you as you relax in the living room. Dine inside at the round table with hand-hewn chairs, or al fresco on the front porch, under the boughs of the river birch and rhododendrons. Soar up to the bright blue and airy upstairs master suite and relax in the queen-size four-poster bed. The dark furniture pieces ground the space. The ensuite bath is a shower with cozy green tile and a vanity outside the bathroom. The downstairs suite is sultry and Moroccan inspired full of warm hues and custom lighting. The ensuite is a delightfully bright orange bath with decorative windows within the space. Spend your early mornings or late evenings on the patio, watching the sunlight filter through the hemlocks and ferns.

Stroll into the shops at Cheshire Village and grab a small plate at Beradu, a new restaurant and bar. Browse the attached market and pick up some locally sourced supplies for the rest of your stay. If you're looking for heartier food, pull up a chair at Black Bear Tavern, dishing up traditional pub-style eats all day long - or Sake Sushi. If you're feeling adventurous, make the quick trip up the interstate to Asheville. If you're craving seafood while in the mountains, stop by Jettie Rae's, a laid-back luxury restaurant with a focus on bringing fresh dishes to the Blue Ridge. Pick from their Raw Bar or an entree of shrimp and grits. Follow up your meal with a chilled beer from one of Asheville's many local breweries, like Archetype or One World.

Linens, sheets, and towels are provided for your convenience. This home will rent monthly, with a $100 power allowance and a $50 water allowance per month. Ravenscroft was a delightful place to stay. It was wonderfully designed and delightfully decorated. High quality in every regard. It was perfect for us as a couple but is laid out so that two couples would find it possible to have time together and separate very easily. We look forward to returning. Graybeard was very helpful and great to work with.

The Ravenscroft Cabin was beautiful, it was clean, comfortable and in a great location. The Cheshire Village is small and quaint, the town of Black Mountain is full of great little shops and amazing restaurants. People in this town are welcoming and friendly,

Ravenscroft is a masterpiece in architecture and decor. The home was warm and welcoming. Greybeard and the homeowners were very accommodating. We will return just to stay at this home

We enjoyed everything about our stay. The home was so comfortable. I loved the attention to detail these owners placed on their home. We loved all the artwork and little details throughout the home. It is a lovely home! The neighborhood is stunning as well and in great proximity to Black Mountain. Black mountain is a wonderful little town. We loved that there was plentiful shopping and places to eat without being too crowded like Asheville. We did a new adventure daily such as trips to chimney rock, lake lure, Asheville, and Hendersonville. We also enjoyed the Biltmore for candlelight Christmas. We would do this trip again and again! We did do some hiking but definitely would do more of that next time. There is just so much to explore! We also would definitely choose Ravenscroft. This area and home is fantastic.

The treehouse is lovely, cozy, has beautiful art, and feels like a real home. Love the balconies, deck, views and privacy. The location is very convenient. Cheshire is a very nice and friendly community.

Ravenscroft was super clean, beautifully decorated and just perfect for our family of 4. We cooked most of our meals ourselves during the 6 days we were there. The kitchen was VERY well stocked with cooking/prep supplies. The grocery store was very close. The ground at Cheshire village are also beautiful. We enjoyed going for morning runs and evening walks. Our two favorite places this trip were Chimney Rock and Catawba Falls.

This house/cabin was by far, the best place I have rented in a long time. It was clean, no bugs, and fashionably decorated. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place to rent while they are in the Black Mountain area. Not far from Asheville, NC either.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary in this lovely cabin. The interior is filled with items of beauty and interest making our time spent here special. The cabin's location is ideal as it is only 5 minutes from Black Mountain and also near the interstate for a trip to Asheville. We enjoyed several meals at the nearby Artisan Gourmet.

A perfect Christmas in a perfect mountain cottage! Everything about Ravenscroft is warm and welcoming. The dcor and marvelous original art are magical! We have rented it twice and will continue to do so. Our only hope is that it will always be available!

Our family of four enjoyed our stay at Ravenscroft so much! It is a lovely home, so unlike most rentals. The owners have created a cozy, yet spacious home with art, pottery, and architectural details. You could easily just stay at the cottage and enjoy the extensive book collection and the porch views. The location is great also, with an easy walk to breakfast, or quick drive to Asheville or for a hike. Graybeard Realty's special touch, leaving pumpkin bread on the counter (best I've ever had) was a treat also. We hope to return soon!

Lovely home with beautiful views from the top deck. Cheshire Village is an ideal community for visitors. The home and village are very quiet and peaceful. The home is nestled in the trees. It feels like you traveled to another country far away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. Only negative is parking- one car is fine, two cars would be challenging/impossible to fit in the driveway.

The home is in a great location with an easy commute to many locations: Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore, Asheville, Montreat, Brevard and Hendersonville. We had a wonderful time and our week at Ravenscroft went by too quickly.

great location, fantastically designed cabin with all the details, amenities, and plenty to do in the area for everyone. In our case, motor biking on the Blue Ridge mountains, visiting Asheville and downtown Black Mountain, and just relaxing and enjoying the cabin.

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Ravenscroft is located in Black Mountain. This home is approximately a 5-minute drive to downtown Black Mountain and approximately a 20-minute drive to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

This property offers a flexible cancellation policy that differs from the standard cancellation policy. The policy for this home is the moderate policy. The terms of the policy are as stated: Bookings canceled at least 30 days before the start of the stay will receive 100% refund. Bookings canceled at least 14 days before the start of the stay will receive 50% refund.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Ravenscroft is not “pet friendly.” Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet friendly property during your visit, you will be charged a minimum of $600 to clean carpets, upholstered furniture and complete air purification measures. Bringing a pet to a house that is not pet-friendly without owner consent or permission from Greybeard is grounds for termination of the rental agreement without refund. If you must travel with your pet, please contact us for local boarding recommendations. More info about service animals and the ADA is available here.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Ravenscroft has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and select option 1, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WILL THERE BE FIREWOOD AT THE HOUSE?

This home provides an indoor wood-burning fireplace. Firewood is not supplied by Greybeard. Some houses will have a small supply of firewood for renter use; however, it is best to purchase your own small bundle of wood or Duraflame pressed logs at the local grocery store.

Cutting branches, limbs or trees on the property is strictly prohibited. You can use limbs found on the ground. Since this home does not provide an outdoor fire pit, absolutely NO fires are permitted outside, and you cannot bring your own portable fire pit.

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Ravenscroft. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
