The eclectic touches throughout this cozy, newly-built home beckon you to experience mountain living and leisure like you never have before. After waking up to woodland views just outside your window, step into the kitchen to whip up a delicious breakfast before sipping coffee on the front porch while looking out at the surrounding trees and wildlife. After coffee, take time to walk down to the beautiful Lake Tomahawk nearby where you can greet the ducks crossing over for a quick swim.

Without a doubt, the screened-in porch is the crown jewel of this modern and marvelous escape, as it provides the perfect setting to enjoy an array of activities. From having dinner on the large farmhouse-style table to watching tv while lounging on the miniature couch to playing board games at the corner table, you can spend endless sunny afternoons and rainy evenings enjoying the outside from the inside.

Once you enter the home from the screened porch, you’re greeted with eccentric light fixtures and trendy decor within an open-floor living plan that includes an in-wall electric fireplace and a state-of-the-art kitchen. The sleek, tiled bathrooms are patterned with luxurious hints of gold, and each bedroom has a picturesque view of the surrounding forest.

Outside Inn is premierly located across from the Black Mountain golf course and Lake Tomahawk and is less than a 5-minute drive to the idyllic Town of Black Mountain. It’s also just a short 20-minute drive to The Biltmore Estate and Asheville, where you can grab a bite to eat at one of the many delicious restaurants, explore the quaint gift shops and boutiques, or sample craft beers from one of the local breweries.

House Layout:
Living room with 65" flat screen TV and electric log fireplace; modern fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and island with seating for 2; full hall bath (walk-in shower only); bunk room with 2 twins and a 43" TV; queen bedroom with 48" flat screen TV; Primary bedroom with queen bed, en suite bathroom (walk-in shower only), the living room has a 55" flat screen TV, built-in electric fireplace, and sliding doors out to screened in porch with ample seating and dining area.

Please note: All 4 smart TVs in bedrooms and living room are for streaming only. No cable TV service. While the home does not have central AC, it is heated and cooled with mini-splits (one in the living room and one in the primary bedroom). The home is pet-friendly with an additional pet fee. There is a small fenced area for your dog.

Beautiful property

Overall

The covered patio is gorgeous and provides a great area to hang out for a larger group. The tin roof, however, makes the dropping pine cones sound like bombs. You cannot hear this when you are in the house and the doors are closed. The full bed in the second bedroom was fairly uncomfortable for one our group members as it is rather stiff and you can feel the springs. The other beds were comfortable. The kitchen is decently stocked and we were able to cook. Great hot water and the grounds are beautiful with unique touches. I’m terms of checking in/out, there was different instructions on the fridge vs the emailed instructions vs the envelope instructions. We did our best and tried to be as considerate as possible but it was a bit confusing.

Outside Inn was a charming house perfect for two couples or small family. We enjoyed the screened in porch and the eclectic furniture and decor. Everything was super clean and the pumpkin loaf at check in was a thoughtful touch. Super close to downtown Black Mountain, which had great restaurants and shops. 15/20 minutes to downtown Asheville. I do agree that the house is on a busy road, but that did not take away from our trip. Greybeard was a pleasure to work with as well. Thank you!

Golf course across the street. Kids playground easy walking distance. Shops and restaurants in downtown Black Mountain are just as good as Ashville.Solid vacation spot.

Lovely eclectic house 5 minutes away from downtown Black Mountain. Very comfortable set up, lovely touches throughout home. The house is right on a fairly busy road with a lot of construction vehicles going by, so it could be a bit loud. While it didn't detract from our stay, thought it might be helpful if one is looking for a more isolated location. The porch was a perfect spot to enjoy the sunrise and cool mornings. It's obviously not pollen/dust proof, so we had to clean the table a couple of times a day to keep things tidy. Again, it didn't impact us too much, but folks w severe allergies will likely spend more time inside.

A very stylish dog friendly house that had everything we needed to make our stay a great one. Very close to the breweries and shops in Black Mountain, short drives to some beautiful hiking trails, and close enough to Asheville. This property is a great location and the hosts are thoughtful, thorough with directions about the property, and quick to communicate. We had a great stay!

It is a charming retreat with so much unique character located in a beautiful, safe, and very friendly town. Our time spent on the porch was so relaxing and inspiring. Highly recommend this place!

My husband & I rented Outside Inn for a 5 day getaway near Asheville. The property was very clean & modern, & had everything we needed & more for a relaxing getaway. The master bed was very comfortable & had a great main shower attached bathroom. We loved the huge screened in porch with plenty of seating & a heat lamp for the cooler temps at night. Management was quick to respond & bring a new gas tank when the heat lamp ran low. It was in a great location in Black Mountain which was a great little town about 15-20 minutes from Asheville & a close drive to many great hiking trails. The house was also a few minutes drive to restaurants, breweries & grocery in Black Mountain. We would not hesitate to rent this property again when in the area!

Close to town and about 20 min from Asheville, but also close to nature, the lake and hikes. Loved the screened in front porch. Local bakery pumpkin bread to welcome us was a nice touch.

Greybeard Rentals were easy to work with and very clear and responsive. The house was stocked beyond expectations in the kitchen and grill supplies. House was clean, beds were comfortable, supplies such as kitchen items and bedding of good quality. Great place to stay while exploring the area and definitely good value. No complaints!

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Outside Inn is located in Black Mountain. This home is less than 5 minutes to downtown Black Mountain and approximately 25 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Outside Inn is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

You will pick up keys from our Black Mountain office, located at 204 East State Street. Keys will be available starting at 4:00 pm. If you are arriving after hours, you will receive instructions on how to access the safe on our front porch. There will be an envelope with your name and house name at the top. Your keys and driving directions will be inside the envelope.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION?

Gas logs are not in operation May through September due to the warmer summer months.

Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit.

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Outside Inn. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
