Survey the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains from the top of Grants Mountain from the back deck of Moondance. Located within a dark skies community, enjoy the constellations and moon dance across the sky on a clear night. Located just minutes from I-40, situated between Asheville and Hickory, Moondance is a short drive to the shopping area and hospital. Paved roads make easy access to this mountaintop paradise, however, it is RECOMMENDED TO ARRIVE DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS.

There are 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms on one level. Vaulted ceilings throughout this open floor plan bring the beauty of the outdoors in. Large deck to relax in the hot tub under the moon and stars. Make family memories where you gather around the large stone wood-burning fireplace, share a great meal prepared in the chef's kitchen, or play with your pup in the large, fully fenced backyard! 

Cabin layout: Open floor plan for living room, dining, and kitchen. One-level living at its best! The living room has a TV and a wood fireplace. The dining table seats 6. The primary suite has a king bed with a full bath. The two guests each have queen beds and share a full bath in the hallway. Great deck with a hot tub and incredible views! A fenced yard area at the back of the cabin.

Please note: This house is pet-friendly for up to 2 dogs with an additional pet fee per dog. Dogs are required to be current with flea and tick medication. Due to allergies, cats are not permitted. For security reasons, there are EXTERIOR security cameras (at the front door, driveway, and shed area), and the homeowner confirms the number of pets brought to the home via these exterior cameras. It is best to purchase a small bundle of wood or Duraflame pressed logs at the local grocery store. The fireplace is NOT operable from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Greybeard homes are located near Pisgah National Forest. Ladybugs and Kudzu Beetles are prevalent in our area in the fall and winter months, and they will find their way into homes to escape the cooler weather. They are not poisonous and cannot be exterminated.

From the moment you walk into Moondance cabin you feel at home. The cabin is full of all the amenities you need for a stay and the view is absolutely incredible! The location is fantastic, just a quick drive from the main highway. Highly recommend and we definitely plan on staying here again.

Beautiful Cabin and Location

This was a beautiful cabin with a million dollar view. We found it very clean and comfortable. It had all the necessary kitchen stuff to fully cook. Gas grill worked great as did the fireplace. We would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a perfect stay. The only negative thing I would mention is that the TV is not a smart tv and we could not watch football. That needs to be upgraded.

The house is beautiful and the view is absolutely amazing. We LOVED the backyard too. The only issue was the kudzu beetles or stink bugs. There were A LOT of them inside the house. My kids refused to sleep in their rooms because the bugs would flutter and land on the windows all night and I even found them on the beds on multiple occasions. So, honestly, other than the bugs, it was great. I don't know if it was just the time of year that we went or what the problem was, but the bugs were definitely a problem inside the home while we were there.

The views were truly amazing and breath taking. The cabin was beautiful, well maintained and well stocked. The bed in the primary room was very comfortable. The cabin had everything we needed for a relaxing and amazing vacation celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary! We'll definitely rent again in the future!

Everything about this place was great: layout, decor, view, necessities, the hot tub, the bathrooms. It was the highlight of our trip to Asheville. Great location to see parts of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Definitely a fantasy cabin place on top of a mountain.

I loved the view from this cabin. We enjoyed watching the clouds roll across the beautiful mountains. The hot tub is placed perfectly to take in the view after a long day of hiking. We hiked Catawba Falls, Linville Falls and Grandfather Mountain. All were not too far from the cabin.
The cabin had a great location for easy on and off the highway access. It was tastfully decorated and the master bed was comfortable.
Walks around Grants Mountain every morning were so peaceful. We loved everything about the cabin.
I have been renting cabins from Grey Beard for 18 years and they are always professional to deal with.

Loved the view and also loved the house! The house was very well equipped, especially the kitchen. And the location was very convenient for many of the popular spots on the Blue Ridge Parkway (Mount Mitchell, Linville Falls, Crabtree Falls).

It was great not to have to check-in at the office and just go straight to the home, especially after a long day on the road. Right when we walked in we were in awe of the beauty of the place and couldn't get enough of the view. It was also a nice touch to provide extra cleaning supplies for our stay!

The cabin was wonderful. We enjoyed everything about the cabin. It is very well equipped and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck every evening, relaxing in the peace of the mountain and the beautiful views. Days were spent hiking and exploring the mountains of N.C. The cabin was an excellent location for all of the day trips we made. Groceries were convenient within a 10 minute drive.

From beginning to end this was an amazing family getaway. The staff at Greybeard were wonderful to work with and the cabin was as advertised then some. My family enjoyed the beautiful mountain views from sun up to sun down. My family is ready to head back to the mountains and when I look for another rental my first choice will be Moondance.

We truly enjoyed our 10 week stay in this wonderful home. Great views, very private, clean and new. Good access to Interstate 40 making travel to Black Mountain, Morganton and Asheville simple. The nearby town of Marion has everything you need and is fabulously quaint. The Greybeard Realty team was exceedingly helpful and accommodated every request. We would certainly rent this home or any Greybeard property in the future.

We rarely left the property during our five day stay. The sunsets were amazing with each one being different. You are truly alone at the top of Grant Mountain. Outside cameras were a bit surprising, but I am sure security is needed. Restful and relaxing. Worth every penny! The Gate Code was not correct, but a nice neighbor helped us get through with proof of rental.

Our vacation was perfect in every way. Greybeard Rentals was excellent in managing the search and all the details once a decision was made. Their app was a huge benefit offering detail of our stay, places to visit, and eat. Also a concierge service.
Moondance Cabin was beautiful. Spectacular views and amenities. Perfectly appointed with everything we needed. The furnishings were lovely and comfortable, right down to the nice towels and linens. The cabin offered peaceful tranquility and we will return.

FAQs

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Moondance is located within the private Grants Mountain community in Marion. This home is approximately 10 minutes to downtown Marion, 30 minutes to Black Mountain, and approximately 45 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Moondance is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash. 

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Moondance has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and select option 1 which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WILL THERE BE FIREWOOD AT THE HOUSE?

Firewood is not supplied by Greybeard. Some houses will have a small supply of firewood for renter use; however, it is best to purchase your own small bundle of wood or Duraflame pressed logs at the local grocery store.

Cutting branches, limbs or trees on the property is strictly prohibited. You can use limbs found on the ground. Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Moondance. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
