Enjoy your stay in this inviting Black Mountain bungalow! Located just steps away from the beautiful Lake Tomahawk, this cozy home offers gas logs, cable TV, central air, and high-speed internet. The modern kitchen is fully equipped and can accommodate multiple cooks. The home is located a couple of blocks from downtown Black Mountain, and it's a quick 20-minute drive to downtown Asheville and the Biltmore Estate!

Outstanding accommodations! Cabin was spotless when we arrived. Outstanding cleaning job. Only suggestion for improvement is there were two bags of trash from the previous visitor that ere left in the dining area by the front door. We had to call for maintenance one time for the primary bathtub which didn’t drain. We had a very fast response time for service. The technician effectively fixed the problem and also took the trash with him from the previous visit.

We were delighted with our stay, it was a perfect retreat! A familiar abode in a quiet neighborhood, we have called this home on multiple occasions on visits over the years and were delighted to be able to stay here again. The house layout works well with a large group, the kitchen is adequately supplied, and the price is a value.
The pumpkin bread welcome is a treat, and I had some spectacular coffee ground for me at Dynamite Coffee down the road on 70.

The house was so clean and airy. It was also well stocked with soaps and linens, etc. - more than the minimum. Wifi worked, stove worked, everything was in working order. Instructions were clear for keys, wifi, etc.

Our 7-day getaway to Black Mountain was delayed 2- days by hurricane Florence. But it did not change our experience of our Black Mountain stay. The Lake Tomahawk Retreat house was everything as described. The home was spacious,very clean, well stocked with towels,linens,kitchen utensils, pots, pans, etc. As for the Asheville area, there are many attractions depending upon your interest as well as numerous restaurants and pubs. We did find two Black Mountain restaurants that a visitor should definitely try - the Black Mountain Bistro, and the Red Rocker Inn. Both excellent choices for dinner, excellent food at reasonable prices. In addition, Greybeard Rentals was very easy to deal with. Unlike some other rental sites there were not a lot of additional add-on management and service fees We would definitely rent from Greybeard again.

Perfect stay. Great location directly across from Lake Tomahawk. Just a short walk to town. House is so livable - wonderful floor plan. Plenty of room for 6 people to have their own space. House was spotless when we arrived. Wonderful pumpkin bread from a local bakery waiting for us. Greybeard responds very quickly to any concern - Renda was awesome. Thank you, Greybeard, for doing rentals right. Will use them again often.

This is a great place to stay if you're wanting to enjoy the walkability of downtown Black Mountain and the surrounding neighborhood. Located just steps away from beautiful Lake Tomahawk and an incredible view of the mountains. This is a clean, comfortable home with a nice porch in a lovely, safe neighborhood. You can't go wrong when renting from Greybeard Realty. We have rented a variety of homes for over ten years and they are always helpful, professional and quick to go the extra mile if needed.

This is a really nice property. Beautifully decorated and the interior was open and light. We especially enjoyed the front porch. While this is a lovely house, the parking space is limited to two cars. It wase not an issue for us, but might be for others. The house was really clean. All the amenities are there. The location is close to the downtown area and Lake Tomahawk. Very happy with all.

This house was the perfect size for our family of five. Our children are all 5 and under, so the one level house was a must. Also, having Tomahawk Park across the street was a great amenity. I would definitely go back.

Lovely home, close to town, we walked around the lake every evening. The house was very clean. There were six of us we had plenty of room. Loved the pumpkin bread. Thank you Greaybeard Rentals would stay at SUTTON HAUS again.

We enjoyed staying at this house for our 3 day weekend - it was really close to the quaint downtown and a short drive to Asheville. Very nice house and we would stay there again. My only concern (and it's very minor), is by arriving late at night it was dark and there are no lights around the area where you park (to unload the suitcases and stuff).

Very happy with this rental. It has a large porch, three nice size bedrooms and is located close to Lake Tomahawk and downtown Black Mountain. Nicely furnished. We had a wonderful time, hope to do it again!

The home was very clean and well laid out especially with the bed configurations. We had 2 families with a total of 5 people and the house worked out great for us as it was just a 15 minute drive from Asheville which is where we spent the majority of our time.

Second time staying at Surton Haus. We love walking around Lake Tomahawk and going for hikes in Montreat. Perfect place to relax and close to everything in Black Mountain. We love the open feel of the house and the large kitchen. We will definitely be back!

We had a group of 5 adults staying here for a wedding weekend in the area. We were very impressed with the Sutton Haus. Checking in and out was easy. The rental company left bread and some paper products, which was a nice touch. There's also a cvs right down the street which was convenient. The house was clean and well-maintained. There was more than enough room for everyone. Dishwasher, dish soap, washer and dryer, detergent, iron, blow dryer, and linens were all present in the house. Our accommodations were much nicer and less expensive than friends who had rented hotel rooms in the area. I would recommend!

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Lake Tomahawk Retreat is located in Black Mountain. This home is less than 5 minutes to downtown Black Mountain and approximately 25 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Lake Tomahawk Retreat is not “pet friendly”. Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet friendly property during your visit, you will be charged a minimum of $600 to clean carpets, upholstered furniture and complete air purification measures. Bringing a pet to a house that is not pet-friendly without owner consent or permission from Greybeard is grounds for termination of the rental agreement without refund. If you must travel with your pet, please contact us for local boarding recommendations. More info about service animals and the ADA is available here.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

You will pick up keys from our Black Mountain office, located at 204 East State Street. Keys will be available starting at 4pm. If you are arriving after hours, you will receive instructions on how to access the safe on our front porch. There will be an envelope with your name and house name at the top. Your keys and driving directions will be inside the envelope.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION?

Gas logs are not in operation May through September due to the warmer summer months.

Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit.

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Lake Tomahawk Retreat. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
