This luxurious home is ideal for romantic getaways, anniversaries, girls' getaways, or quality time with friends. One of several treehouse homes within the same vicinity, the nearby homes are perfect for accommodating overflow when it comes to family reunions or wedding parties. Dogwood Treehouse is an optimal space for celebrating every type of special occasion. whether you're traveling as part of a larger group or as a close-knit circle.

Shrouded by lush trees, this home offers respite from the sultry, southern heat along with a front-row seat to the changing seasons. After an activity-filled day, soak in the private and luxurious hot tub before settling in on the cozy deck patio to relax and plan all the adventures you'll go on tomorrow. Experience total relaxation and awe by watching the sun move across the sky from every room-the trees silhouetted against an unfolding backdrop of blue, purple, orange, and pink hues while listening to the wind sift through the leaves.

House Layout: Dogwood Treehouse is laid out on three floors, and the unique layout provides just the right blend of privacy and togetherness. Please note that there are no bedrooms or bathrooms on the main floor. The Upper Level offers an open, loft-like feel that consists of a primary suite with a King Bed, and a full bath (shower & jacuzzi tub). While there are no doors, you will have the entire floor to yourself. The Main Level consists of an open floor plan with a kitchen (island with 3 bar seats), a dining table, and a living room area with a stone wood-burning fireplace (Duraflame logs only please. They can be purchased at a nearby grocery or convenience store). and TV. Access one of two private patios through the French doors to enjoy a covered and beautifully-decorated extension of the open living area. The Lower Level is one large open room that consists of a queen bed, queen sleeper sofa, and sitting area, 58" TV/Entertainment, and French doors leading onto the second private patio. This outdoor sanctuary is encircled with beautiful native landscaping and boasts a luxury hot tub, an open-air deck, and a pathway that leads into the surrounding woodlands.

Please note: Dogwood Treehouse is pet-friendly with an additional pet fee. This house also has a dog crate in the basement closet available for use as needed. This home underwent major remodeling and received significant updates in March 2021.

Home was very clean and well maintained. The community was lovely with great walking trails for the dogs. Rental agency was attentive. Bed was comfortable. The location was great. Close to black mountain shops and great restaurants. We would return to this home and community.

My husband and I enjoyed our 5-day trip to North Carolina and our stay in the Dogwood Treehouse! It had everything we needed to cook our own meals and the location was perfect! We enjoyed the privacy of the neighborhood and it’s proximity to Black Mountain town square (lots of great little shops), Asheville (we spent a day at the Biltmore mansion and gardens, had a nice dinner at Posana Restaurant, and a fun evening at New Belgium brewery in the river arts district), and 1.5 hour drive to the Great Smoky Mountains! Thank you Greybeard for the great hospitality.

This is a great house and location! We would definitely return. The house is clean and very nicely decorated. The neighborhood is great for walking around and it is so close to Black Mountain to easily get to restaurants and shops.

We usually stay in Asheville but decided to see what Black Mountain had to offer and came upon Cheshire village. So many amenities from the location, hot tub on the lower deck, jacuzzi bathroom tub, king size bed. We didn't want to leave. The reservation process is very straight forward with no surprises. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends.

The House is Great and in a Great Location. It is out of the way for Peace and quiet but very close to Stores, Restaurants, and Attractions to visit. The location is great for taking peaceful walks in wonderful countryside. The house has everything you could need, is wonderfully comfortable, and has a Hot Tub as a bonus.

We had a nice time staying in Black Mountain. You have tranquillity without the isolation of being in a cabin. Plenty of hiking trails, great restaurants and close to the Biltmore.

This cabin has an incredible view from each room. It's in walking distance from Cheshire's restaurants etc. it was very clean and the kitchen is well stocked. Our 2 basset hounds enjoyed it also ! There's a hot tub outside that looked warm!! It was very cold and snowy when we were there but I would love to sit on the deck during warm weather. The master bedroom and bath upstairs had amazing views. The bed was very comfortable. The basement had a den, queen bed I think, and the laundry room.
Now for those of you who may have orthopedic issues. There is no powder room (restroom) on the main floor. You have to go up or down to use the restroom. Also the washer and dryer are in the basement. If you have dogs you will need to take them out on leash. The decks around the house are beautiful but are not gated. This was such a fun long weekend for us. Highly recommend !

The neighborhood of Cheshire is absolutely beautiful!
Easily accessible to highway and shopping of essentials and restaurants. We will definitely be back!

We loved the location, ease and closeness of getting to & from the highway (2mins), grocery store (2 mins), downtown (2mins) and Asheville (20mins even at 5pm!). It was a beautiful drive to the rental and our 5yo enjoyed every step of the pathway to the playground. The staff at Graybeards was extremely helpful with the few questions we had. The home was cozy and beautifully built. We're already planning on revisiting next year. Thank you for allowing us to partake in the relaxing scenery and warmth that the city of Black Mountain, NC has to offer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Dogwood Treehouse. For the days that we stayed, it truly was a home away from home. It was exactly what we wanted, it was decorated perfectly, very clean and delightful. We have already recommended the Dogwood Treehouse to our family and friends to visit.
The registration process was seamless and everyone we spoke with via telephone or email was very kind and helpful. The regular contact ( texts emails) was perfect. And the loaf of pumpkin bread the housekeepers left was very kind and delicious!
We truly could not have asked for a better week.

The beauty of the surrounding area was just amazing. After a long day of hiking and sight seeing it was nice to return to The Dogwood Tree House and relax in comfort.

The house was great, just like the pictures there was no surprises. Cheshire and Black Mountain are great communities with lots to do. Black Mountain is also a very central location to Ashville, Chimney Rock and Lake Lure.

Comfortable cabin style home with perfect accommodations for our family. The fireplace and wooded views made it quite peaceful. The neighborhood was fabulous for walking and the location was convenient for quick trips to town.

Love Black Mountain. Cheshire Village is great because it is very close to town. Also felt safe for taking walks, even after dark.

We absolutely loved staying at this cabin! It was a perfect mini getaway for my husband, baby, dog, and me. The cabin was beautiful and comfortable. (We loved the loaf of pumpkin bread from a local bakery sitting in the kitchen when we arrived!) There was a playground and a sushi restaurant a short walk away (my kind of nature stay 😆). Hikes were a short drive away! We'd come back in a heartbeat.

This was a great place to stay in a lovely little neighborhood. The house was very clean and cozy. The stay was only about 15 minutes from Asheville.

The Dogwood Treehouse is a beautiful home in a lovely part of the country. The setting and decor is stunning. Black Mountain is a small town with good restaurants and beer and is conveniently located near Asheville sites and the Blur Ridge Parkway. We especially appreciated the ongoing and prompt email and personal communication from Greybeard Realty regarding our reservation.

place is woodsy and as you can see in the photos. nice facility overall. I accidentally left something in house and they responded and asked questions and sent it back to us right away. We were very grateful.

We loved the cabin because we felt like we were in a tree-house. It was gorgeously furnished and we loved everything about it. The beds and pillows were all comfortable and very nice. On the bottom floor you can lay on a bed and you feel like you're in a tree. It's the most peaceful, serene spot in the whole house. Every detail of decor is thought out including the curtains with pine cones and the antler chandelier. The only *very* minor criticism I would have is that the couch on the main floor is very small and is more of a love seat. It's not a big deal because we didn't spend a lot of time hanging around watching TV. (We are very tall people and notice things like that..) I also loved the location and Black Mountain! It is very charming with amazing farm to table food and adorable little shops. From the cabin you can walk to several places to eat including a sushi place. I seriously wanted to move in and never leave. I would buy this home tomorrow if I won the lottery and it was for sale. :-)

We regularly travel to Black Mountain to see family over Thanksgiving and have rented in Cheshire a few times. This was our first Greybeard rental and I have to say the difference was noticeable. There was a welcome bag of essentials and a loaf of bread that was delicious and perfect with coffee! The ease of getting into the rental with the smart lock was also a plus - no keys to worry about losing! The house itself - it was great! Plenty of towels, a fully stocked kitchen and everything was as anticipated.

The house was magnificent! Very clean and cozy! The neighborhood was very quaint! We enjoyed eating at several restaurants on the property and loved the quaint town of Black Mountain! Was a wonderful, relaxing week away from our stressful and hectic jobs! Thank you for sharing!!!

The home was very well equipped and clean. From the photos we thought the house was more private and not so close to other homes. Of course, that is just a personal preference! We made the best of it and enjoyed sitting by the fire pit each evening on the lower level. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, the living room furniture is not conducive to relaxing in front of the fireplace on “comfortable” furniture.

Beautifully appointed home in the Village of Cheshire! Thoughtfully equipped and decorated. Excellent customer service from the staff at Greybeard Realty with easy check-in and check-out processes. Downtown Black Mountain was charming and we enjoyed the proximity to Asheville as well. Definitely would recommend this house for a party of 4-6! Visit Poppies Popcorn in downtown Black Mountain - will not disappoint! Take in Sierra Nevada Brewery (campus) in Asheville too - amazing property and fun restaurant! We will be back!

Very nice cabin in the village of Cheshire in Black Mountain. Cheshire is a small development with maybe 50 high-end homes, plus two restaurants you can walk to and a coffee shop. All only 1/2 mile from I-40.

This is a great home to stay in- you walk in to the main level, and then there are essentially two master suites- one upstairs, one downstairs. Everything in place, high end furnishings, and two covered outside porches. Very nice!

We really enjoyed our stay at Dogwood treehouse. The house is in immaculate shape, very nicely appointed and beautifully decorated. There are just a few other houses on the street so it was very quiet and serene during our stay. Walk to the village center in 5 minutes. We also found the house to be in a great location. Just a mile from downtown Black Mountain, close to a major food store, Interstate 40 and a terrific fitness center within walking range. Overall, we had a very good experience and plan to return in the future.

My wife and I came on a furniture shopping trip. Dogwood Treehouse was a great base to work from and come back to each night. The home is newer, well maintained and well decorated by a local owner. Black Mountain and Montreat were fun to explore and visit.

We loved the Cheshire area and it's convenient and close proximity to restaurants, a huge Ingles Grocery and plenty of hiking trails. The home itself has a terrific layout and was extremely well appointed and cozy. We'll be back.

We loved this house! Great location in a beautiful community! The home was clean and charming. The only things I would recommend to make this rental perfect is more comfy seating in the tv area (a small leather L shape sofa for instance), kitchen items could be organized better and in need of a few more skillets...pots and pans plus a large bowl for a big salad, a king bed in the master would be better as there is plenty of room for one. These are simply suggestions because we loved our stay and would stay again. Also, cant say enough about Grey Beard Rentals. They were delightful to deal with and made everything easy with their email communications and app. The bread and wine were such a nice touch and made us feel immediately at home. Great experience all the way around!

The moment we opened the door we felt the welcomed by the owner and the agency. The subtle little touches made us feel as if the home was our home for our stay. The real wood fireplace being lit in the colder nights the perfect ending to a day in a great area. Absolutely beautiful home and neighborhood and w are thankful that we had opportunity to stay in this cabin.

This was a fantastic place to stay in! I worked with the rental company to pick a few houses that would be close by for my family as we were in town for my small wedding. My husband and I ended up in this cozy, two bedroom cabin that was perfect for our wedding weekend. The place was well kept and the master bedroom was very comfortable. We also really enjoyed the neighborhood and the convenience of being close to restaurants, a great grocery store, and downtown Asheville. We hope to stay again sometime in the near future.

Great cabin. Convenient location. Graybeard provided the wrong access code, but we called and it was remedied in 10 minutes. My only complaint is that the furniture in the den is not very comfortable. It was a little difficult to relax and watch TV. Comfortable furniture and a recliner would have made the stay perfect.

Really liked the house and the location to Black Mtn. We were only two, my wife and myself but I had invited two friends to come stay with us but they were not able due to hurricane. Two things that were inconvenient inside the home were the seating in the living room and no half bath on the main floor. If our friends had come the seating would have been somewhat difficult. A more friendly couch and comfort would have been nice. The bathroom wasn't a big deal but it would have been nice to have a half on the main floor. Loved the fire pit outside and the kitchen worked out well. Beds were nice and comfortable. Thanks, John

We loved Cheshire Village! It is a beautiful home with a well equipped kitchen and plenty of space. We were surprised with a loaf of delicious pumpkin bread from Black Mountain Bakery. Our children loved roasting marshmallows over the fire and there is a playground right down the road. There are plenty of things to do such as hiking, biking, fishing and boating and Asheville is a 20 minute drive from the Treehouse if you want to do something in a bigger city. It was a perfect Mountain getaway from all the busyness of life! We will definitely be back!

My wife, mother, dog Lily, and I had a very nice stay at Dogwood Cottage in Black Mountain. The character filled home was very clean and well appointed. Its location, nestled in the very quaint Cheshire Village, was proximate to downtown Black Mountain and an easy drive to Asheville. We found Black Mountain to be a nice surprise with great stores and restaurants. We would highly recommend.

FAQs

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Dogwood Treehouse is located in Black Mountain. This home is approximately a 5-minute drive to downtown Black Mountain and a 20-minute drive to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Dogwood Treehouse is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Dogwood Treehouse has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and select option 1, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WILL THERE BE FIREWOOD AT THE HOUSE?

This home provides an indoor wood-burning fireplace. Firewood is not supplied by Greybeard. Some houses will have a small supply of firewood for renter use; however, it is best to purchase your own small bundle of wood or Duraflame pressed logs at the local grocery store. 

Cutting branches, limbs or trees on the property is strictly prohibited. You can use limbs found on the ground. Since this home does NOT provide an outdoor fire pit, absolutely NO fires are permitted outside, and you cannot bring your own portable fire pit.

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Dogwood Treehouse. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
