Located within walking distance of downtown Black Mountain, this newly-constructed and pet-friendly cottage offers unparalleled convenience and comfort that is perfect for a family vacation or getaway with close friends. There is a bedroom on the main floor with a king bed and full bath. Upstairs is a bedroom with a king bed and another bedroom with two twins. In the morning, enjoy a delicious breakfast of pancakes and coffee at the colorful outdoor dining table on the covered front porch while planning the day's itinerary and listening to the hum of downtown nearby. On those extra sunny days, take a brief stroll to Black Mountain Golf Course to play a round or two before grabbing a savory snack of soft pretzels and beer cheese, and a refreshing sweet tea at the Golf Club's new Green Tee Grille.

Keep exploring all that town has to offer by making your way to downtown Black Mountain where you'll find a number of novelty shops, art galleries, restaurants, bars, and cafes along with the Swannanoa Valley regional history museum and the White Horse Music and performing arts venue. After strolling and shopping to your heart's content, sit down for a delicious lunch on the spacious patio of the Black Mountain Bistro, and then visit the Black Mountain Brewing taproom to drink a craft beer with the finest local ingredients. Once you've enjoyed the activities and attractions in town, stop by Lake Tomahawk Park on your way home to relax and take in the gorgeous scenery and wildlife. Speaking of, you're likely to spot a paddling of ducks waddling across the street using their designated crossing! Offering a picturesque view of the Seven Sisters Mountain range, the lake is a lovely place to walk at dusk as the sun begins to set.

For outdoor enthusiasts, Black Mountain is just 10 minutes from the town of Montreat where you can find endless walking trails that wind through lush rhododendron, along babbling creeks, and lead to cliff faces overlooking the valley and towns below. You also have the option of driving a short distance into Old Fort or Asheville for hiking trails across various skill levels and landscapes. If hiking isn't your thing, but you still long for those breathtaking views, drive along the famous Blue Ridge Parkway to enjoy each season's changing foliage and stop along the overlooks to take pictures to remember your special time in the mountains.

After a full day of fun, come back home to cook dinner using the gourmet kitchen complete with granite countertops, stainless appliances, and a smooth surface stove. Once dinner is over, gather in the cozy living room to play a board game or watch a movie on the smart TV with wine from the Merry Wine Market and truffles from Kilwin's that you picked up in town earlier that day. Please note: This home is PET FRIENDLY (for dogs under 40 lbs) with an additional fee. There is a RING doorbell camera. The TVs are set up for streaming only and there is no cable service. This home is located minutes from I-40, making it easy to hop on the highway to access Asheville and surrounding towns.

Overall

Very clean, very comfortable, loved the starter kit amenity package so no need to rush to get your basics if you need more, loved the home and location! The experience from booking to check out was 10/10! Will use this agency again and appreciate such a great stay! PS … we don’t do Air BNB or VRBO because of the drama and this was drama free!!

Our rental house was very comfortable and the location was very convenient. So much to do in the Black Mountain area.

The house I stayed in was well appointed and had everyone one could need for living. Greybeard Rentals was an excellent property manager -- anytime I called, they responded expeditiously, cheerfully and helpfully.

We LOVED our stay at Carolina Skies in Black Mountain, NC!! Everything from booking to check-in and check-out was easy and simple! The home was extremely beautiful and clean! We will definetly we heading back to the Asheville area in the future and will absolutely rent from Greybeard Rentals!

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Carolina Skies is located in Black Mountain. This home is approximately 2 minutes to downtown Black Mountain, 20 minutes to Asheville, and 45 minutes to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Carolina Skies is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival. Early check-in is not available during the summer conference season.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Carolina Skies has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

For homes that collect a security deposit, after an inspection, security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Carolina Skies. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
