This authentic, luxury mountain cabin boasts long-range views from every level and sits on 12 majestic acres. As a pet-friendly property, your furry friend can wander the mountainside within the newly-installed fenced yard or nap in the sunshine while you unwind in the clawfoot tub on the deck with a glass of wine while taking in the panoramic mountain view. Brindle Barn is located just outside the charming town of Black Mountain (a 15-minute drive) and is just 30 minutes to Asheville. When you're not relaxing on the couch in front of the cozy wood stove or making a delicious dinner with the gas grill, the convenient location makes venturing into town to enjoy local shops, outdoor activities, and other exciting attractions an absolute breeze.

Cabin Layout
Main Floor: Den with queen sleeper sofa and a smart TV (streaming + cable available with Hulu TV); Bedroom with a king bed; Bedroom with a queen bed. There is a full hall bath (shower only no tub). However, there is an amazing soaker tub on the deck!
Upstairs: Open floor plan with kitchen island that seats 4; living room with a smart TV (streaming + cable available with Hulu TV).
Outdoors: Decks on both floors have lots of seating and space to enjoy the amazing views! You'll also find a gorgeous mountain-themed mural by Asheville's Ian the Painter just below the wraparound decks.

During the colder winter months, icy and/or snowy road conditions and delayed snow plow operations are possible within the development. From December through March, please come prepared with AWD or 4WD vehicles. We also highly recommend travel insurance.

Beautiful views from a cozy house

Overall

Only a few minutes from Black Mountain but tucked away in a quiet valley this warm and welcoming cabin has incredible views. It is facing due west so plan to sit on the deck and enjoy the sunsets. The communication from and responsiveness of Greybeard Realty was impressive. We will definitely return.

This cabin is ideally situated for those who want to balance adventure and relaxation. Mountain towns, hiking, and a grocery store are within a reasonable distance, but the cabin itself feels secluded.

Amazing Stay - We arrived and just fell in love with the cabin + location. Note - if there is a bit of a gravel/private road to get to the cabin. We came up for our wedding that was to happen at Black Balsam. Sadly due to rain we had to pivot and ended up having the ceremony at the cabin! The sideyard was the perfect location. The fenced-in yard made traveling with our dogs much easier as they had a safe place to relax. Overall a great location and somewhere we hope to visit again.

Brindle Barn was absolutely stunning; cabin itself, views, and amenities. The owners have considered what would the renters want.
The living/kitchen area is amazing and very well stocked. Of course the best features of the property are the upper and lower decks. The hubby and I stayed up every night star gazing and listening to the nature sounds and grilled out. The swings and hammocks down below are great for relaxing when the sun is a little hot up top. We love to hike so we ventured out around the property and walked the gravel road & surrounding woods. We left our fur babies home for this trip, but definitely will bring them next time since the property is pet friendly; even the newly installed fence is a great addition.
Most vacations we rent a property via a realty company, Airbnb or VRBO and this cabin is one of our favorites!! Of course some people may have some issue with the drive up the gravel road, but it's quite easy if you take your time. Need 4-wheel drive in the winter months. The fabulous unobstructed views are worth it!

The view was sooooo amazing! We were impressed that even the lower deck had a great view. I hope the trees around the house will be maintained so that they never block the view. The house was excellent and clean. We never vacation at the same place more than once, but we are definitely planning to book this house again.

This was our second stay at brindle barn and it was just as lovely as the first. We love all the intentional decor, amazing views, and small cozy touches throughout. Several upgrades were made since our first stay- king size bed, privacy guard by the tub, gate on the lower deck, and lookout seating on the hill were all a nice surprise.

The cabin is well laid out, was spotless, and had the spectacular views that we'd anticipated. The decks are wonderful and the large picnic table was perfect for a family gathering.

We loved everything about our stay at the Brindle Barn. It was such a cute, cozy little cabin with great views. We loved the 2 decks, the swings, the deck tub to cool off in on the hit days, and just sitting on the deck chairs watching the sunset behind the mountain every night. My dog loved the dog bed.

We were worried about the drive up to the cabin, but it was super easy. No step hills, just windy roads, and a section of gravel, bumpy road. It was an easy trek to the cabin.

Thanks for an amazing place to stay. We'll definitely be back!

This cabin is the cutest place we have ever stayed. Every detail is so thoughtful. And the view... really no words because of how magnificent it is. The decks were awesome, we loved sitting out the chairs watching the sunset behind the mountains. Clawfoot tub was an adorable touch as well. Never stayed any place like this and we will 100% be back in the future.

Brindle Barn is absolutely gorgeous! It's clear that so much thought and love went in to creating such a beautiful space. Remote, unbeatable views, cozy and well thought out spaces. The outdoor space is incredible too- we have stayed at many mountain homes and the side yard on this property is so unique and rare! And the sunsets- whattt. Amazing. We used to always go to the Grove Inn to see the sunsets when we come to Asheville, but could watch them from this place and it was beyond gorgeous. The decks, the swings, the cute tub, the outdoor furniture and decor- really cute! The outdoor griddle was perfect for morning pancakes and bacon while watching the sun rise.

Unbeatable views. Incredible attention to detail on the interior design. The inside looks like a perfectly maintained 100 year old cabin, when in reality it's brand new construction. Hot coffee, wood-burning fireplace, and fresh baked goods. Can't beat it. Downtown Black Mountain nearby. Downtown Asheville not far. 5/5.

So glad we got to enjoy a snowy weekend here. The view is STUNNING, and the wood burning fireplace made it so cozy. We are definitely keeping it on the list for places to revisit!

The views from both decks were amazing. We loved eating outdoors on the deck and enjoying the sounds and sights of nature. The cabin was new, clean, and fully equipped for a comfortable stay.

FAQs

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Brindle Barn is located in Black Mountain in a private neighborhood named High Rock Acres. This home is approximately a 10- minute drive to Black Mountain and a 30-minute drive to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance . Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Brindle Barn is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival. Early check-in is not available during the summer conference season.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Brindle Barn has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and select option 1, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WILL THERE BE FIREWOOD AT THE HOUSE?

Firewood is not supplied by Greybeard. Some houses will have small supply of firewood for renter use; however, it is best to purchase your own small bundle of wood or Duraflame pressed logs at the local grocery store. Cutting branches, limbs or trees on the property is strictly prohibited. You can use limbs found on the ground.

This house does not provide an outdoor fire pit, but there is a wood stove inside. Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit, and you cannot bring your own portable fire pit.

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Brindle Barn. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
