So much space for our family of 9! Kids had their own floor with pool table & arcade games! The home was decorated in Christmas vibes throughout making our thanksgiving week even more cozy. Everything you could want in a mountain home and more! The sunset views, double decks, and modern amenities…really couldn't ask for more at Bearadise! We hope to be back as all of us enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave!

The house and the amenities were great! However, the parking was not enough space for the number of people that can stay there. And getting out of the parking area is definitely a little scary!! We did enjoy our stay tho!

Our family of 8 had an excellent stay at Almost Bearadise. The 3 levels with rooms and bathrooms allowed all of us to have our own space when needed. The main level was large enough for our family to gather around the table for meals, games and watching movies.

We enjoyed our stay while celebrating our mother's 96th birthday. The last night we had 3 huge bears show up which excited the children. The previous trip to Almost Bearadise we saw bears and we were looking forward to seeing them again. Did not disappoint!! We sent a review earlier which indicated that the bed upstairs needed some adjustment on the headboard.

We decided to try something new for spring break and go mountains instead of beach. We were not disappointed! The house wa s spotless and my teenage sons claimed the basement and had their own little kid cave with TV, games and their own deck! The bedrooms were spacious and the kitchen and dining area worked out great. Beautiful sunset views from the back deck and we even had some bear activity around the back - safe viewing from high stop the decks!! The roads up were paved and fairly easy to navigate. We loved the town of Black Mountain and ventured out to lots of fun activities around Ashville. We highly recommend Almost Bearadise and will book again when in the area!!

This cabin was perfect for us! It was spacious, clean, had beautiful views, all the amenities you could think of! The kitchen was equipped with anything you could possibly need! The rooms were cozy yet spacious. Lots of extra blankets to use and towels in the bathrooms. The game room and sitting area downstairs was great and the porch in the deck was nice to sit on to soak up the views (but not too long because it was cold!) Everything was just wonderful and they were available via text to answer questions about the fireplace etc! The driveway is very steep and scrapped the bottom on my Kia Carnival several times so just be very careful depending on your vehicle type. All in all it was an amazing trip and when we visit Black Mountain again we will certainly stay here again!

Perfect house for 4 couples. We each had our own room and bathroom. Lots of space to spread out and enjoy without feeling like we were on top of each other. House itself was very clean and had nice amenities. Fridge needs an ice maker or real ice cube trays (2 tiny trays that make spheres is not sufficient for the number of guest).

We have held our family reunion at this house for 2 years now, and anticipate many more. The layout is great for entertaining. And the view is unparalleled. The bedrooms are distributed such that most are quiet. It’s nice to have two bedrooms in the basement, because this who want to stay up later can retire to the basement and not disturb those of us with small children and earlier (reasonable) bedtimes. Everything is clean and orderly. Only complaint is that I will bring my own Teflon egg pan next year. As with pretty much every vacation rental I have ever been to, the Teflon pans are scratched up and basically unusable, unless you are ok eating Teflon flakes. I am not ok with that…

Almost Bearadise was a very comfortable home. The view was great And the sunsets were beautiful. My son's children loved the bunkbeds downstairs! The children loved wading in the streams And playing on the Montreat playground.

We had a perfect mountain getaway with family. The town of Black Mountain had everything we were looking for including good restaurants and breweries. So many hikes to choose from. The Almost Bearadise home was clean, spacious, comfortable and had great views.

The pictures on the listing actually don't do the view or the space justice. These were the most comfortable accommodations, from furniture, to linens, to a well stocked kitchen, to ample space to relax and play. We couldn't ask for more! It is such a welcoming home, and we would certainly hope to stay there again if/when we return!

We absolutely LOVED this house! It has everything you need! Plenty of towels and so much room to lounge. Separate areas to group where everyone is not on top of each other. Amazing French doors that open to
The top deck and really bring the outside in. If you want to find a house the virtually have a stay-cation, then this is it. The pictures of the mountainous view don't do it justice. 15 minute drive to Asheville, grocery store and shops minutes away.

Our whole group really enjoyed this cabin! It was very clean and well-stocked. There was plenty of room for 10 people (5 couples) and we never felt cramped. The view from the cabin is absolutely beautiful, though the road to get up there is a little intimidating at first. We had three vehicles and were able to just park them right on front of the house. Thanks for a great stay! We loved it and would definitely stay there again!

Everything with Almost Bearadise was fantastic!

We gathered three branches of our family together for a wonderful weekend getaway. I was nervous about relying on Internet pics for our space, but the pics splendidly represented this fabulous space. We loved having the huge great room for the whole family, the wonderful deck on which we watched several beautiful sunsets over the mountains, and the well-equipped game room downstairs where lots of old-fashioned video game challenges happened. With four full baths, no one ever had to wait.

The house was clean and orderly and well equipped with everything we needed. Check-in was a breeze as was our final morning leaving. And the local baby equipment rental company (that was familiar with Greybeard Rentals) worked seamlessly in delivering and picking up high chairs and pack&plays we needed for the wee ones. I don't hesitate to recommend this great house!

Very Nice Clean House!Practically brand new. Entrance into driveway needs improvement.The a/c systems seemed to blow cold no matter how you adjusted the temperature.The directions to the house need to be revised for they are confusing, i.e. after the first stop sign it should read take a left at next stop sign and not at the 2nd stop sign!Overall we had a very enjoyable experience.

This rental home is beautiful and had so much space for my family. The home was clean when we arrived and the views from the decks are breathtaking. The only complaint was the driveway, it was steep and gravel. Thankfully the renters in the home that shared a driveway allowed us to use their paved driveway throughout the week.

The home and view was absolutely spectacular! Unfortunately Tropical Storm Alberto hit during our vacation so we weren't able to enjoy the hiking and outdoor activities as planned. In fact, it rained so hard we were confined to the house for 3 full days. Having all the amenities on site made for a comfortable stay for our family of 10. My only complaint was that when I called to confirm that it was okay to deposit trash in the outside cans, I was told there was no trash pick up that week so we either had to leave all the trash in the kitchen, or put it in the dumpster at the rental office on trips to town. So we loaded trash bags in our cars. However, on Wednesday a trash truck did come to the house but we hadn't put anything in the cans.

Great for Multiple Generations!

This house is beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. On top of all that, it is an ideal house for multiple generations. The adults were able to have quiet discussion while the elementary-aged children had a blast downstairs with the pool table, basketball game, darts, etc. Would definitely come back. And the view is gorgeous!

Great, except parking and the driveway needs a serious rethinking. Too steep and dangerous getting or out. The road to the house is treacherous, mostly passing another car. Also the kiterature says fireplace, but it was gas, not wood!!!

Almost Bearadise was perfect for our family Christmas retreat. The kitchen was well equipped, the den and dining area accommodated our family comfortably, and the downstairs game room was awesome not only for our grandchildren but the adults as well. The bedrooms were comfortable and beautiful bathrooms well supplied with bath towels, etc. It was absolutely such a fun five days. We hope to return to your Bearadise in Black Mt. soon. Getting all our children together for even a dinner is a challenge, so we planned a weekend in the mountains to make this happen. Almost Bearadise was perfect for this vacation. We loved spending time on the decks enjoying the view. The house itself was extremely clean and comfortable due to its size. The large couch in the great room was perfect for our family of 10. We all loved the decor of the house and it was very clean and comfortable. The location was great too. I would definitely recommend this house. We were very pleased and hope to come back sometime.

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Almost Bearadise is located in Black Mountain. This home is approximately 5 minutes to downtown Black Mountain and 25 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Almost Bearadise is not “pet friendly”. Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet friendly property during your visit, you will be charged a minimum of $600 to clean carpets, upholstered furniture and complete air purification measures. Bringing a pet to a house that is not pet-friendly without owner consent or permission from Greybeard is grounds for termination of the rental agreement without refund. If you must travel with your pet, please contact us for local boarding recommendations. More info about service animals and the ADA is available here.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Almost Bearadise has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION?

Gas logs are not in operation May through September due to the warmer summer months.

Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit.

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Almost Bearadise. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
