General Asheville Event

The Asheville Art Museum's Lasting Legacies: Architecture in Asheville will be on exhibit from January 2-January 18, 2026. The exhibit shines a spotlight on the architectural work of Richard Sharp Smith, Albert Heath Carrier, and Douglas D. Ellington, highlighting the contributions two leading architectural firms played in shaping Asheville’s buildings and artistic character in the early 20th century.

Alongside the featured architectural materials, the exhibition highlights the renewed interest in craft and decorative arts in Western North Carolina, illustrating how ideas moved across disciplines and took shape in everyday life. While at the museum, be sure to check out their other ongoing exhibits, grab a bite in the rooftop Perspective Café, and let your little ones play in the sensory-rich Wells Fargo Art PLAYce.
