The kitchen was well equipped and linens were plenty and very clean. It was open and spacious for board game playing and conversations. It is pleasantly located in town in walking distance of lake and town.

Clean- very clean Great location - loved the easy access to park and town Downside- outdoor lights didn’t work, grill should be on deck would be easier to use; basement smelled a little musty but that could be related to air being off and de-humidifier being off when we arrived. Kitchen needs dish cloths- we could not find a single sponge or cloth- and only a few kitchen towels. All things this can be easily addressed.

The house was well-stocked for our stay over Christmas with extended family including a toddler, teens, 20s, 30s and 40s - we all had a blast! Plenty of bath towels, extra blankets and pillows, a pack and play, and a variety of pots, pans, etc. There were also thoughtful touches, such as an Alexa speaker, labeled light switches, books, games and a fun rec room!
We loved being walking distance to the sweet town of Black Mountain and right across from the lake, with its walking path and playground. No one was ever bored or at a loss for something to do. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

We chose this location specifically because our youngest daughter was getting married and the event was held at Lake Tomahawk. It was right across the street from the venue, which made most of the wedding day preparations so easy. We came from Pennsylvania and spent the entire week there with our family, we filled the space completely. The house was awesome and the decks made it possible for other family & friends to hang out together in the evenings. We were very pleased with how well this property worked so well for our visit!!!

The home is situated by Lake Tomahawk and a 10 minute walk into town. The house was clean, well appointed, featured comfortable beds, and Graybeard was very responsive before and during our stay.

It was perfect for our family with 3 kids under 10.

The house was very nice and comfortable for a stay with kids. It was nice to be close to the small lake and a playground. The games at the house were great and the general layout of the house was good.

This house was absolutely perfect for having our mother's 80th bday party there! It is also the cleanest house I have ever rented. The location is great-close to downtown Black Mtn and easy access to I40 to get to Asheville.

My large (11 person) group had a great time at the Lakeview Knoll house. It is an older home with a modern feel. The location is fantastic, for us it was perfect to be in Black Mountain and have the store, downtown, and the lake right there, but it was also a quick ten minute drive to Montreat.

We loved being across the street from Lake Tomahawk, and 5 minutes from town. The house was very clean, and well appointed. The only issue, was that the dehumidifier in the downstairs bedroom had not been turned on before we arrived. The area was extremely damp and uncomfortable. But we were able to sleep upstairs the first night, and the basement was completely dry by morning. Greybeard was very accommodating, and that morning, sent a water specialist to check, and a maid to change the previously damp sheets. We never had any other problems with the house.

Great property for kids and adults! Across the street is a lake, playground and pool. The kids enjoyed the park each morning before we went on our adventure for the day. The house was clean and well equipped. Would stay here again!

We had to clean the coffee pot before we could use it, also some of the dishes and silverware. Overall it was a great place to stay. The bathrooms were a bit small and limited for 12 people!

FAQs

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Lakeview Knoll is located in Black Mountain. This home is less than 5 minutes to downtown Black Mountain and approximately 25 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Lakeview Knoll is not “pet friendly”. Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet friendly property during your visit, you will be charged a minimum of $600 to clean carpets, upholstered furniture and complete air purification measures. Bringing a pet to a house that is not pet-friendly without owner consent or permission from Greybeard is grounds for termination of the rental agreement without refund. If you must travel with your pet, please contact us for local boarding recommendations. More info about service animals and the ADA is available here.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Lakeview Knoll has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION?

Gas logs are not in operation May through September due to the warmer summer months. 

Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Lakeview Knoll. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
