The first-ever North Carolina Hellbender Festival is coming to Downtown Spruce Pine on Saturday, August 30, 2025! Attendees will enjoy live music, local art, river science, food trucks, and outdoor adventure—all inspired by the ancient Eastern Hellbender.
Live music includes River Whyless, The Local Honeys, Sammy Osmond and the No-Hellers, and Billy Jonas. Come explore the Toe River, meet real hellbenders, and connect with local makers!
