Wake up to sweeping views of the Blue Ridge Mountains from this spacious, beautifully appointed Laurel Ridge home. Settle in on the deck with a morning coffee or gather around the gas fire table in the evening, all the while with a view that only gets more beautiful throughout the day. With two living areas, a gourmet kitchen, four bedrooms, and a whole-house generator, Viewmont is built for groups who want comfort and peace of mind deep in the mountains.

The Space
The main level centers on a great room with vaulted ceilings and a large Smart TV (streaming via Roku), a game table perfect for cards or puzzles, and a half bath. The primary king bedroom is also on the main level, featuring stunning views and a private en-suite with a jetted soaking tub, separate shower, and double sinks. The fully equipped gourmet kitchen has a gas range and an island that seats three, opening to a dining area that seats up to eight. A second living room off the kitchen features gas logs, ideal for cool mountain evenings.
Upstairs, you'll find three additional bedrooms: a queen bedroom with a private en-suite (walk-in shower), a second queen bedroom with access to a full hall bath, a bedroom with two twins, and a bonus room with a double bed, coffee bar, and sink for added sleeping flexibility.
Outside, the large deck showcases the best view, with a gas fire table, gas grill, and seating for the whole group. Parking is easy with space for four cars, plus access to the garage.

The Location
Viewmont sits within Laurel Ridge, a private gated community just 10 minutes from downtown Black Mountain's restaurants, activities, and shops, 20 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, and 25 minutes from downtown Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. 

A note for mountain guests: Greybeard homes sit near Pisgah National Forest. Ladybugs and kudzu beetles occasionally find their way indoors during fall and winter months — they're harmless and a natural part of mountain living.

House was super clean and everything was as advertised. Beds very comfortable and kitchen well appointed. Check in and out easy and efficient. The view was wonderful and we enjoyed the fire pit. Great house for a big group. Convenient for both Asheville and Black Mountain.

This is the second year we've rented Viewmont. We rent a mountain property every year and this is the one we've settled on for our future family outings. It fits our need to a "T". Everything was in working order, but we did run out of propane for the outside fire pit. The gas grill needs some serious cleaning. We just didn't try to use it. The parting code on the sheet in the dining room does NOT match the one on the door. A bit confusion. We'll try to find a date for next October.

This home has a beautiful view. We really enjoyed the comfortable beds and spacious rooms. Being at the end of the road and in the gated community was also really nice. One of the easiest drives up the mountain we've ever had. The only downfall was an understocked kitchen re cooking utensils. We would stay here again.

The house is very cozy and feels like home. Well equipped, clean, and the shower in the master bedroom is amazing, especially after a long hike. The deck is set up perfectly to enjoy the gorgeous mountain view.

The house was in great shape and very much felt like a real home with all the amenities. Solidly built and appointed beautifully. We loved the fire table, huge deck and stunning views. A great time for our family including the little ones.

From check in to check out, our stay at Viewmont was amazing. The house is in a great location with breathtaking views and yet close to everything Black Mountain has to offer. Everything one could need is provided for in this very well appointed and maintained home. It was our first but will not be our last visit!

The views are spectacular and the house is spacious, beautiful and very comfortable. Great kitchen, beautiful deck. It could not have been better! We hope to book it again soon!

This incredible home exceeded our expectations and provided all the comforts and views you can imagine. The area is peaceful and convenient to both hiking trails and shopping. Enjoying the fire pit on the upper deck was a highlight of our time here!

A very peaceful getaway. There was plenty of room for all of us, including two toddlers. Sitting on the very private deck enjoying the beautiful views with coffee in the morning and the fire in the evening was just perfect. Close to hiking trails (Catawba Falls was a favorite) and to town (Black Mountain has a quaint downtown with restaurants, breweries and stores). We saw a bear, beaver, and turkeys in the neighborhood! I hope we can return!

Wonderful, beautiful home in the mountains. We saw wild turkeys every day and a baby black bear! The house is clean, well maintained, with an easy check in and great communication . We had no issues. Gorgeous views from the main floor and the back deck. Beds are comfortable plenty of towels . Was also referred to a rental company for inexpensive baby gear which was super helpful! Thank you and we will rent this home again

It was the most relaxing, beautiful, peaceful vacation we've ever had. Perfect for a family and the views from the terrace were breathtaking. The kitchen was stocked with every utensil you could ever need. Laurel Ridge is a wonderful community and the location was perfect.

Our family had such an amazing time at this cabin. The location just outside of downtown Black Mountain made it so easy to head into town for dining and shopping. The views are amazing and the cabin had everything you need for a fantastic stay.

FAQs

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Viewmont is located in Black Mountain within the private gated community of Laurel Ridge. Please note that this community restricts the use of ATVs and hiking on private property.

Viewmont is approximately 10 minutes to downtown Black Mountain and 30 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map. 

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

This property offers a flexible cancellation policy that differs from the standard cancellation policy. The policy for this home is the moderate policy. The terms of the policy are as stated: Bookings canceled at least 30 days before the start of the stay will receive 100% refund. Bookings canceled at least 14 days before the start of the stay will receive 50% refund.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Viewmont is not “pet friendly”. Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet friendly property during your visit, you will be charged a minimum of $600 to clean carpets, upholstered furniture and complete air purification measures. Bringing a pet to a house that is not pet-friendly without owner consent or permission from Greybeard is grounds for termination of the rental agreement without refund. If you must travel with your pet, please contact us for local boarding recommendations. More info about service animals and the ADA is available here.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Viewmont has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION?

Viewmont has a gas logs fireplace for guests to use. Gas logs are not in operation May through September due to the warmer summer months. 

Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit, which is not provided at Viewmont. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Viewmont. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
