The definition of Serendipity is the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy way. The homeowners feel it was very serendipitous that they found this lovely home! They would love to share their special place with you. It's a perfect getaway for one or two couples. Both bedrooms have king beds and en-suite bathrooms. Serendipity is located in the charming and quaint Village of Cheshire, just one mile from downtown Black Mountain. You can walk down the street and dine at Beradu, Sake Sushi, or Black Bear Tavern.

This amazing home was previously selected as Home of the Month by the Raleigh News and Observer. This award is a collaborative effort between the paper and NC State University's School of Design through its home environments design initiative. Blending softly into the hillside of this desirable Village of Cheshire community, the architect, Thomas Lawton, made use of native stones, cedar shingles, and native landscaping. Outdoor rooms were created with covered porches and a terrace area carved out of the hillside. Inside, a loft-like interior includes clean, modern lines and lots of windows.

House layout: Main floor- full kitchen features Viking appliances; half bath; open living room area with gas fireplace and TV (cable and Wifi available); dining table that seats 4; deck with a table and extra seating. Upper level- master loft with king bed, TV, and a luxurious full bathroom with walk-in shower and soaking tub. Lower level- bedroom with king bed, TV, and a full bathroom. Outdoors- main level deck; wonderful back patio with outdoor fireplace.

Please Note: The owners offer a 10% military discount year-round to military service members.

Absolutely loved the place and neighborhood. Black mountain was awesome and Phil’s is a great bbq restaurant near by. Very convenient drive to Asheville as well. Will definitely come again.

Very good directions for getting to and in the house. Very Beautiful landscaping lots of lights outside and the house is beautiful!! Very Clean. There’s a few things to us would make the house perfect The house is very dark , more Lights though the whole house, especially in the upstairs bathroom . And a more comfortable and bigger couch , especially if you have 2 couples

Lovely home in the Village of Cheshire. Enjoyed the beautiful setting and close proximity to Black Mountain. My only negative comment was the kitchen refrigerator makes a loud constant noise. It sounds like the fan is going bad. It stayed cold but it made quite a racket making it difficult to fall asleep. The owner may not be aware of this.

Location of the house was perfect for the overall area. The property was beautiful and had everything we needed. The only possible issue would be that the 3 stories are all open with no doors to block sound which could possibly be an issue for privacy since sound carries. It didn't bother us and we loved everything about the property and hope to return soon.

We loved being surrounded by the hills and trees. The cottage was charming and well-maintained. We also loved having access to so many nice restaurants, trails, shops & activities.

We enjoyed the convenience of being in the woods and being close to Black Mountain! The house was incredible! However, if you have bad knees, the stairs might be too hard. We loved the fireplace (indoor and outdoor)!

Views from every window and plenty of outdoor space - patios and balconies. Beautiful neighborhood to walk. Convenient to Asheville as well as a myriad of hiking trails.

Cozy, well-appointed cabin in a very nice "villiage"! Enjoyed the proximity to Black Mountain and Asheville and the beautiful surroundings. The Mid-level fireplace was very welcome during cooler evenings/mornings, as was the outdoor fireplace. Quite simply, a lovely setting!

The location. The town of Black Mountain was very nice, and the property close proximity to the highway makes it easy to get to Asheville, hiking spots, and other good places to visit. Having the Ingles right there is also very convenient.

The house was unique and gorgeous. The kids loved the outdoor and indoor fireplaces. The bathtub in the master upstairs is huge! Everything was thoughtfully designed and high-end. I would tell families with kids that there are no bedroom doors (modern, open concept) so if a member of your party goes to bed early be aware that the sound carries throughout the house.

The location of this tree house was perfect, close to a large grocery store, close to a charming mountain village and close to the Asheville Airport. The house was super clean and extremely stylish. I also enjoy the Branch Camp River, where I walked early in the morning to hear the rush of the river and smell the clean air. Greybeard Realty made this transaction smooth from start to finish. The house is beautifully designed and located in a nice little community. Just 20 minutes from Asheville and very central to many hiking trails around the area. Would love to come back!

The pictures of how perfect this location is could not be any more true! A true escape in the mountains to get away from it all, yet still be able to walk and pick up great local food within a couple minutes.

The modern decor and furnishings in this immaculately clean home were so very comfortable and welcoming!
Our timing was perfect to enjoy the winter wonderland that the light snowfall created in Cheshire Village.
Our Serenity was enhanced by the peaceful white snow that arrived mid week to blanket the landscape and trees, yet the roads remained clear and safe. It was the perfect home to totally \"chill\" and relax!

The house is gorgeous! and although you have houses all around you it stills feel very private! We enjoyed our long weekend so much. There was a welcome package of pumpkin bread that was delicious and was perfect the first morning for breakfast! Lots to do in Black Mountain and just an overall lovely vacation!

FAQs

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Serendipity Treehaus is located in Black Mountain. This home is approximately 5 minutes to downtown Black Mountain and approximately 20 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Serendipity Treehaus is not “pet friendly”. Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet friendly property during your visit, you will be charged a minimum of $600 to clean carpets, upholstered furniture and complete air purification measures. Bringing a pet to a house that is not pet-friendly without owner consent or permission from Greybeard is grounds for termination of the rental agreement without refund. If you must travel with your pet, please contact us for local boarding recommendations. More info about service animals and the ADA is available here.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

You will receive check-in instructions prior to your arrival with driving directions and key access information. You do not need to stop by our office to pick up your keys. You will go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION?

Gas logs are not in operation May through September due to the warmer summer months.

Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit.

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Serendipity Treehaus. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
