A spacious Montreat home built in 1992. A perfect home for a family gathering or church retreat. Come enjoy this beautiful home and wonderful front porch! House layout: ground level has a separate apt with one bedroom ( a queen bed and a twin bed), den with a full-sized sleeper sofa; a kitchen, and a full bath; a garage; main floor: large living room with gas logs, TV, and a piano; dining table seats 12 and the kitchen island seats 5,(dual coffeemaker complete with a standard drip 12-cup pot & Keurig individual cup maker), a half bath; an office with a twin sleeper; a bedroom with 2 double beds and a full bath (shower only); Upstairs: a bedroom with a queen bed and a full bath; a bedroom with 2 double beds; a full hall bath; a bedroom with a queen bed and a twin; a game room with a futon.

PLEASE NOTE: This home does not supply sheets and towels but can be rented through Greybeard Rentals. There are exterior security cameras. This home has a 3-night minimum stay from Aug-May. June and July have a 7-night minimum stay.

Immaculately clean. We have a big family who gather in Nuschen House every June. The house is always ready for our arrival. Thank you Greybeard and staff for check-in ready accommodation and 24/7 help if needed

Low Key Bachelorette Party Weekend

Cabin was perfect for celebrating my friends upcoming wedding in a relaxing, low key environment. The table was large enough to accommodate all of us for cards and games. Plenty of room and the best stocked kitchen we've ever seen at a rental property!

Every aspect of this rental was easy and the house was a great set up for our small group and could easily accommodate well beyond the 5 people we had.

Overall

Several maintenance issues could not be resolved during our stay. House needs some TLC, especially new carpet. It was a great space and location for our family. Hope updates will be made, so we can rent another year.

Nuschen House suits our family perfectly. It accommodates all our extended family with grandchildren and their parents. Nuschen House is also conveniently located near other family members on Peace Lane. The house is always clean and ready for immediate occupancy. I have one request: please provide blue recycle bags. The trash/recycle bins in kitchen are inconvenient. Reaching the recycle bin requires a difficult maneuver to deposit recycle items. Thanks for the Keurig single cup and coffee pot combination appliance

The Nuschen property was beautiful and spacious as well as warm and inviting! Greybeard team's preparation for our arrival was thoughtful, helpful and welcoming. Necessities for \" getting started\" were provided as well as an unexpected treat.

Lovely home, perfect for our family to celebrate Thanksgiving. Grandkids loved playing in the woods, which they called the \"GB\" for Greybeard.

Montreat is a beautiful area and community. The house accommodated our family for Thanksgiving nicely, and we all had a wonderful time.

When you are taking a large group away for a week and are needing to all be in one place at one time, this is the house for you. With large windows in the living room area, the sunshine comes through and warms your heart. I took a group of high school students for a youth conference and this house made the kids feel at home, but better yet made them feel like family. With the wrap around couch and a large dinning room table, there was laughter in the air. Very spacious and great venue to host such a large group.

I loved the house. Our only issue was that there was no upstairs A/C. When the maintenance guy came out to fix the issue, he didn't actually fix the issue. Thankfully, it wasn't too bad during the week.

Very nice house. Great for our large group. A/C, big kitchen, lots of bedrooms and baths, and good spaces to spread out. The only minus is the home is a bit up the mountain from Lake Susan and the center of Montreat. But since our group didn't include small children this wasn't a problem. Big let-down: the house has an indoor hot tub in a glassed-in porch which was unavailable to us! We looked thru the glass door at it and were sad! The realty company said that we couldn't use it because of liability issues. We would have been glad to sign any forms that they wanted to clear them/the owners of any liability! Hard to come in, see the great hot tub, and then not be able to use it! Frustrating!

Overall, we loved Nuschen! While the road is a bit too steep for easy walking too/from Anderson Auditorium, the house is a peaceful retreat space. The kitchen is a little dated, and the furniture was mixed - some in great shape and others (some chairs, the mattresses!) were not in the best shape. However, the house had amazing natural light, was overall very clean and comfortable, and had lots of room for our group.

My family of 7 (3 adults/4 children) were very comfortable. We enjoy the bedroom space, convenient bathrooms, open living room/kitchen/dining room space. Most of all the home is convenient to my extended family with a home on same street. Thank you to Greybeard Realty and their staff for their availability when we had questions or difficulty.

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Nuschen is located in Montreat. This home is approximately 10 minutes to Black Mountain and 30 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance . Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Nuschen is not “pet friendly”. Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet friendly property during your visit, you will be charged a minimum of $600 to clean carpets, upholstered furniture and complete air purification measures. Bringing a pet to a house that is not pet-friendly without owner consent or permission from Greybeard is grounds for termination of the rental agreement without refund. If you must travel with your pet, please contact us for local boarding recommendations. More info about service animals and the ADA is available here.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival. Early check-in is not available during the summer conference season.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

You will receive check-in instructions prior to your arrival with driving directions and key access information. You do not need to stop by our office to pick up your keys. You will go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WILL THERE BE FIREWOOD AT THE HOUSE?

This home does not provide a fire pit. Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit.

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Nuschen. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
