Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, Nordic Eco House is only a 4-minute walk to Ingles Market groceries and a 10-minute walk to the heart of downtown Black Mountain. This sleek contemporary home offers comfort, elegance, beauty, and unparalleled convenience!

This 876 square foot one-bedroom cottage is fully appointed with a spacious primary bedroom and full bath (shower) on the 2nd floor while the main floor boasts an open concept with high ceilings. The main floor includes a living room (complete with gas logs fireplace), TV, Sonos wireless speaker, dining area, kitchen, laundry, and half bath. Outside, you'll find a wonderful screened porch area with a table and chairs for dining al fresco and a wood-burning grill/fire pit to enjoy!

Located on the opposite side of the same wooded lot is Nordic Tiny House, a 1 bedroom green home that may be rented separately. For couples or friend groups traveling together, this companion home provides the perfect solution for convenient access while still affording privacy.

Please note: This home is pet-friendly with an additional fee. The grill/fire pit is shared between the two homes on the property, and availability may vary if both homes are booked at the same time.

I liked the location in black mountain that it was only 15min from Asheville and near other attractions. Nice layout and everything looked nice and in working order. Had a good night sleep every night.

The size of the cabin was a perfect little place for 2, the location is great, right in the middle of Black Mountain and only 15 minutes from downtown Asheville. So it made it really convenient to get to see most of everything I wanted to, there's just so much to do and see. It does help if you have a truck/car with 4 wheel drive going up and down the hill.

We liked how easy it was to get to the grocery store, gas stations and interstate. The space was perfect - not too big and not too small. The binder of information was helpful so that we could settle in and enjoy the cottage during our stay.

The cottage was very cozy yet open at the same time. We loved the decor and the layout of this cottage. The location was very convenient to stores, downtown Black Mountain and hiking. We had a wonderful weekend and will definitely be back!

We were right outside of Asheville, great location. Super close to everything in the town of Black Mountain, and you're also a short drive from Asheville. The house is beautifully designed and was sparkling clean upon arrival. We look forward to renting this place in the future!

The cabin was super cute, the kitchen was well stocked equipment-wise. Everything was very clean. The property was in a great location and allowed us to visit a few places in the surrounding areas. The complimentary bread that was waiting for us when we got there was delicious and a nice touch!

This cottage has everything you want in a vacation rental - comfortable, clean, well-appointed and tucked on a quiet wooded lot. But it's the attention to design and detail that make it exceptional, especially the upstairs bedroom with its beautiful wood floor, furniture and custom sloping wall. The bed and bedding were also top notch. It's close to everything in Black Mountain, but with the steep driveway and mountain roads you'll use the car for most outings.

Little bear cabin was exactly perfect for us! Black mountain is a great small town that has everything you could want, without the Asheville crowds, but also is close enough to Asheville to go if you wanted. This cabin is right off the main road, so that you feel safe, but on a big acre lot with lots of trees so that you still feel secluded. So many great hiking trails near by! I loved the cabin's modern style and spacious interior. We also really appreciated that Little Bear Cottage had thoughtfully decorated- there weren't little knick knacks in every corner like you find in so many other cabins. This was great as we had our one year old with us, and there was nothing unsafe for him to get to. Also, there was plenty of open rugs to set his travel crib up! Lastly, the Greybeard team was also really prompt, friendly, and communicative (Even on the weekend!) when we had a small issue with a door being loose. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a mountain getaway!

We loved the absolute privacy and serenity of the location. We did not expect a rainy week in the 50s and 60s in June, so we enjoyed the warmth and ambiance of the fire. We also were grateful for a check-in procedure that did not necessitate human contact in this time of social distancing.

This place was so much better than expected.
From the location, secluded yet within 2 minutes of town and within a short drive to so many different quaint little towns, to the beautiful, modern, well equipped house. This place is the perfect getaway for couples looking to just interact with nature, explore, hike, and mostly relax.

This was the absolute perfect space! It is only about 15 minutes outside of Asheville in the wonderful community of Black Mountain. We are so happy we discovered this place and little town. The host recommended the Holly Jolly festival which was a perfect event to see the town shops and enjoy some Christmas cheer! The space was impeccably clean and sports a very modern interior. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

Super adorable house. Everything new and beautiful. Very clean and well appointed. Much better than many 5 star hotels. The setting is fantastic and you're still close to town. Would highly recommend it!

This cottage was absolutely amazing. I was in town for a wedding in Asheville, and it was only a 20 minute drive to the city. The location is perfect. Nestled in the Forrest, serine and quiet. The house was extremely modern, all updated appliances and an all around cool space. The bathroom upstairs has heated floors...amazing. The fireplace is great for evening hangs and enjoying the solitude. I would recommend this place for anyone who is looking to get away and truly be alone with nature.

We stayed here for Labor Day weekend as part of an Asheville area adventure and honestly we had just as much fun spending time in the house as we did exploring! The house is adorable and has a very relaxing atmosphere. It is very unique and so beautiful. The natural light is amazing in the day and at night when it cooled down opening the windows to listen to the bugs chirp combined with the fireplace was perfect. It was so close to main roads and the grocery store getting around was a breeze, and all the while you felt like you were tucked away in the middle of nowhere while at the house. I would HIGHLY recommend this property to anyone looking for a getaway that isn't SO far away. The kitchen is wonderful and fully stocked so we spent one night in cooking our own meal and it was a dream. The owners of the house also have wonderful booklets of information on the home and surrounding areas that made it VERY easy to acclimate. Gorgeous new appliances and easy to control AC/Heat was wonderful. It was a very welcoming space and all the surrounding areas were gorgeous. This is my favorite rental I have ever stayed in. We went on the trip wanting to relax and came back so recharged. Communicating with Greybeard was so easy. They were highly responsive and upon arrival we were greeted with a bottle of wine for our anniversary and a baggie of household necessities. This home exceeded my expectations and is really one of a kind.

My husband and I rented this amazing tiny house because he ran the Spartan race in black mountain. I could not attend because I was wearing a cask from a recent foot surgery. I called Graybeard explained the situation. The friendly representative discussed several options. I settled on Little Bear. This was absolutely the best decision I could have made. Actually it was therapeutic. This little house was filled with positive energy. I love the design, modern and sleek. I love the stillness. I love the hawk and other birds that comforted me. My husband and I left better people as a result of our stay at Little Bear. Thanks for the great weekend.

Close to black mountain and I 40. Everything is new and upscale. It is located down in the creek area and hard to tell much about it from google maps. Had a great stay. If I owned it I would put better quality outdoor furniture and pull den screen on front windows.t

This cottage is just minutes from downtown Black Mountain. The location was perfect for me and my wife who were in town for a wedding in Old Fort. It was very easy to travel back and forth between Asheville, Black Mountain, and Old Fort.
The cottage is brand new and had great style. The architecture seemed to be a mix of Scandinavian and mountain cottage designs. The cottage is small but the high ceilings made it feel simultaneously spacious and cozy.
Overall, this place was great and in a peaceful setting not far from town. We would definitely stay here again.

My significant other and I came to North Carolina to spend my birthday in Black Mountain and it was awesome ! It was clean and cozy just what we were looking for in a getaway. The cabin was beautifully decorated and designed with the elements of a home away from home . From the serenity to the local area it was exactly what we needed. My only issues were the privacy issue of the windows downstairs . We felt having privacy film would have been helpful blinds would have taken away the atmosphere. Also the driveway was a little scary at night perhaps having some sort of guard railing would help for guests who arent comfortable with the driving elevation. Overall we were pleased with our stay and would contact your company for future accommodations.

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Nordic Eco House is located in Black Mountain. This home is less than a 5-minute drive to downtown Black Mountain and approximately a 25-minute drive to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

This property offers a flexible cancellation policy that differs from the standard cancellation policy. The policy for this home is the moderate policy. The terms of the policy are as stated: Bookings canceled at least 30 days before the start of the stay will receive 100% refund. Bookings canceled at least 14 days before the start of the stay will receive 50% refund.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Nordic Eco House is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems, we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Nordic Eco House has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and select option 1, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION?

Gas logs are not in operation May through September due to the warmer summer months.

IS THERE AN OUTDOOR FIRE PIT?

This home does provide an outdoor fire pit that doubles as a wood-burning grill. Please note that the grill/fire pit is shared between the two homes on the property, and availability may vary if both homes are booked at the same time.

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Nordic Eco House. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
