Experience a sense of sweet seclusion with your group in this spacious cabin while remaining easily accessible to area activities in Chimney Rock, Black Mountain, and Lake Lure. Each location can be accessed within a 20-25 minute drive down beautiful mountain roads. Reach Asheville's breweries, restaurants, and culture with an easy 35-40 minute drive. Hawk Haven offers plenty of room to spread out with 5 bedrooms, as well as a comfortable gathering area in the living room. Take advantage of the fireplace in the winter months and grill out during the summer. Hawk Haven includes a well-appointed kitchen for cooking family meals and a huge deck to take in the expansive mountain views!

House Layout: Main Level- Open floor plan for living room, kitchen, and dining area; living room and doors out to upper deck; fully stocked kitchen with island and seating for 3, dishwasher and standard coffee maker; dining table with seating for 6; bedroom with queen and full hall bath; master bedroom with queen bed and flat screen TV; private master bathroom with walk-in shower only; laundry area with washer and dryer. Upper level- second master bedroom with queen bed and private full bath with shower/tub combo. Lower level- family room with flat-screen TV; bedroom with queen bed and crib; full hall bath (shower only); bedroom with 2 twin beds; kids playroom; garage accessibility. Outdoors- upper-level deck with patio furniture and gas grill; lower-level patio and outdoor fire pit. The garage is also included in the rental.

Please note: All TVs in the home are streaming only via Roku, and you must log in using your own accounts (Netflix, Hulu, Prime, etc). For groups larger than 10, Blue Bear Cabin is within walking distance to Hawk Haven. WIFI is now available through a satellite provider. While operable, the gas logs fireplace is NOT an included amenity. It is very difficult to light, and you must do it yourself if you wish to use it during your stay. Greybeard will NOT send a technician to the home to light it.

Greybeard homes are located in close proximity to Pisgah National Forest. Ladybugs and Kudzu Beetles may be seen in our area in the fall and winter months, and it is not uncommon for them to find their way into homes to escape the cooler weather from time to time. They are not poisonous and cannot be exterminated. During the colder winter months, icy and/or snowy road conditions and delayed snow plow operations are possible within the development. From December through March, please come prepared with AWD or 4WD vehicles. We also highly recommend travel insurance.

The house was exactly as described. It was clean when we got there.. The service from the rental company was on point with any issues that we had. Would highly recommend the house for a nice group or a family

The entire Greybeard rental experience was perfect. They are accessible, friendly, knowledgeable and do everything in a timely manner! Best rental experience ever!

Cabin was absolutely beautiful! And the view was also! Very clean and well stocked. The only downfall of this place is the drive back into the mountain. So many hairpin turns. If you're someone who gets carsick it's a rough one. Out and back once a day is about all I could muster. But the surrounding towns are so beautiful and friendly. We hiked chain rock and that was challenging and fun. Loved the cabin, the towns and the location. Would stay again for sure!

The breathtaking views. Able to sit outside on the deck drinking coffee and watching the sunrise. The availability of the pots, pans, and other kitchen items. Near the neighboring town with ease.

This was the perfect house to share with old friends. We were 3 couples That have been friends for over 30 years. Though we love to spend time together, we each still appreciate our privacy. Each couple had their own floor with room to spare.
The management couldn't be nicer or more accommodating. And the view is spectacular!

This house is better than expected - well crafted and well spirited. The house sleeps large families comfortably. The views were amazing and the peaceful mountain air did us all some good. We had a fantastic time exploring the city and driving up and down the mountain.

Absolutely love this cabin!! This was our third time staying at Hawks Haven. It would be nice if they had WiFi, but at the same time this is why we escape to the mountains, to get away from everything. It would be nice though for when trying to make plans and map places we want to visit. We rarely were able to get any signal to see which way to go when leaving the cabin. This would not deter us from staying here again. This cabin has everything you could possibly need and provides some amazing views. The management company was very helpful and always available if we needed something or had questions.

The driveway coming up to the house was a little intense the first time as I wasn't expecting it to be so steep, but once up to the house the views are stunning. The home sits atop a peak and it feels as if your on top of the world. The layout worked very well for our large group of 2 families. Everyone had their own space to go and a bed for all. The kitchen was fully stocked and we had plenty of counter space. The large dinning room table fit us all. We played a lot of games and cards with no WiFi and no centralized TV which worked very well for some fun family time. The fireplace was cozy and the home was very comfortable. It was very clean and had everything we needed for a great family trip!

Our family had the distinct pleasure of staying at Hawk's Haven during Christmas 2019. We loved every part of the property from the breathtaking views to the aesthetic of the house to the location outside of lovely Black Mountain! The folks at Greybeard Rentals were similarly wonderful in providing all the necessary details and immediately answering questions. Highly recommend!

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Hawk Haven is located in Black Mountain. This home is approximately 30 minutes to downtown Black Mountain, 20 minutes to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure, and 45 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

This property offers a flexible cancellation policy that differs from the standard cancellation policy. The policy for this home is the relaxed policy. The terms of the policy are as stated: RELAXED - Bookings canceled at least 14 days before the start of the stay will receive 100% refund. Bookings canceled at least 7 days before the start of the stay will receive 50% refund.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Hawk Haven is not “pet friendly”. Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet friendly property during your visit, you will be charged a minimum of $600 to clean carpets, upholstered furniture and complete air purification measures. Bringing a pet to a house that is not pet-friendly without owner consent or permission from Greybeard is grounds for termination of the rental agreement without refund. If you must travel with your pet, please contact us for local boarding recommendations. More info about service animals and the ADA is available here.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Hawk Haven has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION?

Gas logs are not in operation May through September due to the warmer summer months.

Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit.

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Hawk Haven and is satellite internet. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
