Just 5 minutes from downtown Black Mountain and 15 minutes from Asheville, it’s the perfect home base for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. With stylish furnishings, a private wooded setting, and access to Christmount Community amenities, this lodge was made for unforgettable mountain memories.

Beautiful, comfortable, clean, spacious, well equipped home. An added bonus is the staff at Greybeard Realty. Our family was able to enjoy a lovely vacation with comfortable furnishings, great location close to a grocery store, restaurants and relaxing views. Thank you!

Fantastic Holiday Stay at Grey Eagle Lodge

We had a great stay at Grey Eagle Lodge over the Christmas holidays. Our family of 6 (four older kids) and our dog enjoyed every aspect of the house. It was pristinely clean upon our arrival and we loved the modern, tasteful decor. We were able to spread out into all areas and enjoy time together and also quiet time to ourselves. We appreciated the sunroom, the two separate living areas, the spacious kitchen (which was very well-equipped) and the ability to walk out our front door for some nice walks/hikes with our pup. Greybeard service was helpful with early checkin and late checkout and we would stay here again in a minute! FYI - we enjoyed the winter mountain views but I do think the trees near the house would obstruct the mountains in the warmer months.

The house was very nice and I gave it a 5 rating because I think it would work really well for the right mix of people. But the upstairs bathroom configuration made it impractical for our son, daughter and their spouses to occupy the two upstairs bedrooms with the queen beds due to the shared a Jack and Jill bathroom. Our daughter and son-in-law ended up using the bedroom with the trundle bed on the main floor. Looking back at the description of the house I see the shared bathroom was specially mentioned. I don’t think we appreciated how that would work. I don’t fault you or the owners for this, but that arrangement turned out to not work well for us. Still, we really did enjoy our stay.

Beautiful home with everything you could ask for in a mountain setting. We used this home as 1 of 3 for a large family reunion in Black Mountain....Impeccably maintained home!

We absolutely loved our stay at Grey Eagle Lodge! Traveling with kids under 5 is never easy and this house was perfect for our family. It was stocked with kids toys, and needed kitchen items. Safety was never a concern with ample space to play. The kitchen was stocked above and beyond what we needed. It was so clean on arrival which is definitely a must for us. We enjoyed the fire pit multiple nights and playing out on the driveway. It was the perfect location to get to downtown Asheville, the Biltmore, multiple hikes and downtown Black Mountain was the cutest little town that we just loved. Thank you for letting us have an amazing vacation and we made so many memories. My son was so sad to leave as were we!

Wonderful house. Would like that there were bedside lamps in all the bedrooms. Great kitchen that was well equipped. The grandchildren loved the games in lower area and garage. Would stay here again

We stayed at the Grey Eagle Lodge 6/29 - 7/3 and had a wonderful experience. The home was perfectly clean, nicely maintained, comfortably furnished and generally a great home. Graybeard Rentals gave us a very nice welcome kit that included extra product that you always need at a rental like shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, paper towels, laundry detergent, dish detergent and toilet paper. Very generous! We would definitely stay here again.

The lodge is a beautiful, well maintained property with great amenities. The Deck offers scenic views and the kitchen and dining area are fantastic. We will definitely be coming back in the future.

This house, home, is excellent. Larger than expected. Would be great to entertain many people. Great beds, kitchen is fantastic. Do not hesitate. No yard, but park for walking dogs very close.

FAQs

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Grey Eagle Lodge is located within the Christmount Community, less than a 10-minute drive from downtown Black Mountain. It's approximately a 15-minute drive to Old Fort, a 25-minute drive to Asheville, and a 35-minute drive to Lake Lure & Chimney Rock. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Grey Eagle Lodge is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Grey Eagle Lodge has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and select option 1, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION? 

Grey Eagle Lodge  has an indoor gas logs fireplace. Gas logs are not in operation May through September due to the warmer summer months. 

DOES THIS HOME HAVE A FIRE PIT?

Grey Eagle Lodge does not have a fire pit, but it does have an outdoor fire table to enjoy. Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Grey Eagle Lodge. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
