Your stay at D-Natural will have you feeling like you're in harmony with the world around you. Located in the quaint little mountain cove of Montreat, this log cabin feels as if it's tucked away in the woods, but is within a 15-minute walk to the center of Montreat and a short drive into downtown Black Mountain. Conference-goers, youth groups, friends, or families can enjoy a morning cup of coffee in the rocking chairs and porch swing, on the east-facing front porch as they watch the sun peak over the treetops. Recently renovated galley kitchen, with gas range, connects to the small dining room with seating for four (4). Take in nature from the comforts of the screened-in porch directly off the kitchen, with additional seating for six (6). The open-concept main floor has a lovely cathedral ceiling up to the loft, with two (2) sleeping spaces and a full hall-bath. The unfinished basement has an additional sleeping space with two (2) twin beds and a full bath.

HOUSE LAYOUT: Main level: kitchen, screened-in porch, living room, bedroom with a queen bed, bedroom with two twins, full hall bath. Upstairs: loft with a double bed, bedroom with a double and two twins, full hall bath. Lower level: bedroom in the unfinished basement with two twins, full bath.

D-Natural is only steps away from two trails in the Montreat system -the West Ridge trailhead and Lower Piney Trail, both moderate-rated connector trails. If you're looking for something less strenuous, take a walk down to Lake Susan and stroll down Elizabeth's Path alongside Flat Creek. Montreat has an excellent public park with tennis courts, a playground, and a small ballfield. Grab an ice cream or a coffee at the Huckleberry after browsing the wares at Ten Thousand Villages and the Montreat Store. After exhausting the wonders of the mountain cove, take a short drive into Black Mountain, America's Prettiest Small Town, and enjoy their blooming food and beer scene and focus on locally owned businesses.

Please note: This house is pet friendly with an additional pet fee, and linens (sheets and towels) are available for an extra fee.

Great fit for 10-11

The house was a good fit for our group overall. It was very warm while we were there so it was hard to have only a little A/C. We were participating in a conference, so the house was a bit far away for our folks to walk regularly which made things more complicated, but the house itself had what we needed and everything worked well. We appreciate being allowed to rent it.

We love D-Natural; we have stayed there 5 to 6 times in the last couple of years. The new TV setup was a significant improvement from our previous stay. The house is well appointed, if rustic. I would recommend maybe purchasing a new coffee pot. The current one is a little difficult to use and is getting some years on it. The cleaning staff did a great job, and the welcome bag of things we might need was great. We will return.

Everything! A well equipped log cabin with loft, fireplace, plenty of wood, deep in the woods during the fall leaves peek, what's not to like? Our 3rd or 4th time at D-Natural and it's always magic.

Perfect retreat for family and pets. Rustic cabin but all upgraded appliances. Also very clean and functional. Loved the cast iron free standing fireplace and plenty of firewood available at no cost.

We had a great time in our cabin. It provided a shelter when we had to evacuate from hurricane Florence. The agency was great to work with and acxomdated changing check in and check out times due to the uncertainty nature of our trip.

Had a great time during our family Thanksgiving vacation in Montreat. The area was very nice, quite and peaceful. Perfect location, close to alot of other areas, plenty to do specially outdoors. Cabin was nice, cozy and plenty room. The view of the mountains was obstructed by the grown trees. The sound of the water rushing of the creek across the street was amazing and a stress reliever. Overall, WE had a great time...

It was good! Greybeard was very communicative, reaching out to me after my many failed attempts to rent through vrbo. Without them calling me, I don't think we would given up hope of finding a house for the Thanksgiving holiday, as we didn't realize what a popular destination it is this time of year. Cute, cozy cabin with a good amount of space. Close to hiking trails and only about 20 minutes to Ashville. The Black Mountain visitors center was worth the visit, very helpful info on trails, attractions, etc... We had a great trip.

FAQs

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

D-Natural is located in Montreat. This home is approximately 10 minutes to Black Mountain and 30 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance . Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

D-Natural is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash. 

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival. Early check-in is not available during the summer conference season. 

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

You will pick up keys from our Black Mountain office, located at 204 East State Street. Keys will be available starting at 4:00 pm. If you are arriving after hours, you will receive instructions on how to access the safe on our front porch. There will be an envelope with your name and house name at the top. Your keys and driving directions will be inside the envelope.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WILL THERE BE FIREWOOD AT THE HOUSE?

Firewood is not supplied by Greybeard. Some houses will have a small supply of firewood for renter use; however, it is best to purchase your own small bundle of wood or Duraflame pressed logs at the local grocery store.

Cutting branches, limbs or trees on the property is strictly prohibited. You can use limbs found on the ground. Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at D-Natural. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
