This wonderfully spacious Montreat home built in 1993 offers approximately 3,500 sq. ft. of living space and central heat & air, and it is an easy 5-minute walk to Lake Susan. 

About the Home
• Eat-in kitchen on the main floor with breakfast nook for 6, island seating for 2, dishwasher, booster chair, and drip-style coffee maker. The kitchen also provides a 21" TV for streaming.
• Formal dining area with seating for 8.
• Living room with 55" TV for streaming and wood-burning fireplace.
• Pack N Play crib for those traveling with children. 
• The circular drive has room for 2 cars and the parking pad at the back of the house has room for 1 additional car.
• The Cottage provides sheets and towels for your visit. For your convenience, beds will be made for stays from mid-August through May. During the summer Montreat Conference season, typically from the 1st Saturday in June to the 1st Saturday in August, the linens will be delivered to the home and available in grey, professionally laundered linen bags.

Where to Unwind
• The main level offers a primary bedroom with a queen-size bed and an en suite bathroom with a walk-in shower and jetted soaking tub. This room also has a sleeper sofa that converts to a twin-size bed.
• The upper level offers 3 total bedrooms: a bedroom with two twin-size beds (en suite bathroom with walk-in shower), a bedroom with a queen-size bed (en suite bathroom with walk-in shower), and a bedroom with two-size beds. 
• Please note: ALL full bathrooms must be accessed from one of the bedrooms. One of the bedrooms with two twin-size beds on the upper floor does not have a private en suite. The guest occupying this bedroom must access a full bathroom from one of the other bedrooms. There is a powder room on the main floor for added convenience.

Please note: This home does NOT allow pets. The garage under the house at the back of the property is not part of the rental. The owner has a car stored in the garage and occasionally someone will move the car. This won't impact the rental at all, except you might hear the garage door opening.

Beautiful cottage with light-filled, spacious rooms for our family to enjoy! Well appointed kitchen, comfortable couches and seating. Lovely bedrooms. Easy walk to everything! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Great house! This was the perfect sized house for our group of 8. We especially loved the large kitchen, dining room and living area - a feature that many of the older Montreat homes don't have. Thanks for having us!

The best part for us was that it was so close to the conference center. The house is very nice and well equipped. Wish it had a more comfortable porch

We lost our original VRBO rental and had nothing for our family trip and the kind ladies at Greybeard responded so quickly even on a Sunday to help us find a great home to fit our family. Their customer service was the best ever. The house was perfect for our family. We really liked how close it was to town and how cozy it was.

A beautiful weekend in Montreat for our Church's annual congregational retreat was highlighted by spending time with 2 other couples at the Cottage. We had a wonderful visit and look forward to renting here again next year.

Four other ladies and myself had a wonderful time staying at The Cottage while we attended the first Worship and Music Conference at Montreat this past June. It was a great time for learning new music, worshiping and getting to know one another. Also meeting so many people from all over the USA. Staying at The Cottage provided the perfect spiritual mountain experience.

Comfortable, well-appointed home. Perfect Montreat location. Easy walk to Lake Susan and activities. Parking is limited to one vehicle on site, but that worked for our family. Spacious but also has open plan for family togetherness.

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

The Cottage is located in Montreat. This home is approximately 10 minutes to Black Mountain and 30 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

The Cottage is not “pet friendly”. Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet friendly property during your visit, you will be charged a minimum of $600 to clean carpets, upholstered furniture and complete air purification measures. Bringing a pet to a house that is not pet-friendly without owner consent or permission from Greybeard is grounds for termination of the rental agreement without refund. If you must travel with your pet, please contact us for local boarding recommendations. More info about service animals and the ADA is available here.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival. Early check-in is not available during the summer conference season. 

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

You will pick up keys from our Black Mountain office, located at 204 East State Street. Keys will be available starting at 4:00 pm. If you are arriving after hours, you will receive instructions on how to access the safe on our front porch. There will be an envelope with your name and house name at the top. Your keys and driving directions will be inside the envelope.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION?

Gas logs are not in operation May through September due to the warmer summer months. 

Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at The Cottage. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
