Fall at Cabin Fever

Wonderful family vacation rental. The yard is magnificent with a shaded back porch in the mornings and a shaded front porch in the afternoon. Front and back yards are fenced so pets can enjoy both spaces too. Comfortable furniture and a well stocked kitchen enhanced the experience. Close proximity to downtown Black Mountian allowed easy access to all Black Mountian as to offer. We have stayed here multiple time and look forward to staying here again.

Cabin Fever is perfect! Our home away from home. The location is perfect;, the view is nourishing ; our souls are replenished. We hold Cabin Fever close in our hearts. Mandy was so helpful in our search for a lost dog ! She really went beyond the call of duty to help us. Hopefully we will return to Nirvana in 2026.

Cute and clean cabin that's close to everything! We ealked to 3 breweries, 6 coffee shops and several restaurants and shopping areas.

Best of Black Mountian, walkable to downtown for eating and shopping while the backyard was a private oasis. The kitchen had all the basics for eating in and the welcome treats were a nice surprise. Perfect front porch for morning coffee and evening discussions of our days activity. Plenty of towels, comfortable beds, and a nice set up for watching tv. We would defiantly recommend for any family gathering!

We love Cabin Fever as we have stayed here several times. We love the quaintness with enough upgrades to make it comfortable. It is clean, well stocked and the location is great Greybeard was always responsive when we had questions, though there was little need to contact them. We were particularly happy to have cable tv and all the channels we love watching. Highly recommend!

This the second month long stay at Cabin Fever. It was like coming home! The location is perfect, the landscaping and large yard are well maintained and beautiful. The kitchen is well stocked with many extras. We were also delighted to have cable T V. Will definitely come back again.

It couldn’t have been better Location was great, with so many thing’s available downtown. The house was clean and kitchen well stocked. Enjoyed the beautifully landscaped yard and our coffee on the front porch every morning. It was roomy and enjoyed by our several guests during the month. We are looking forward to coming back next year.

Cabin Fever was a wonder choice for our month long stay in Black Mountian. The cabin was perfectly located within walking distance of the downtown area. The yard was fully fenced, front and back, which was great for both our dogs and our grandson. Inside the cabin was clean and nicely decorated, kitchen was well equipped, and the beds were comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

Black Mountain, lovely walking path across State Street, behind Black Mountain Primary School. Fresh restaurant on Ridgeway and State Street the best pizza and pasta.
Cabin Fever grounds lovely, amazing bird watching from kitchen window and front porch.

The yard is wonderful to enjoy the sunset. The kitchen is fully equipped. I cooked Thanksgiving dinner here!

We had a great long weekend at Cabin Fever. The location is great for strolling into town or accessing local hiking spots. We were a group of five plus a pup, and there was plenty of space for us all to spread out when we wanted to. The fenced in backyard was a definite plus for our dog to race around.

We really enjoyed our stay!

We have been to Asheville a bunch but never stayed or been to Black Mountain. Black Mountain is a super cute town straight out of a Hallmark movie scene. There are so many little shops and great cafes in town. This home is walking distance to a great little brewery and pizza joint. The house itself was amazing and ideal for dog because the backyard was massive and all completely fenced in. The fire pit was such a nice touch and we used it every night we were there. The house is about 35 minutes from downtown so Uber was challenging but still a wonderful place to explore Asheville. We went hiking at Catabwa Falls and in Montreat which were both very close by!

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Cabin Fever is located in downtown Black Mountain. This home is approximately 1 minute to downtown Black Mountain and 20 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

This property offers a flexible cancellation policy that differs from the standard cancellation policy. The policy for this home is the moderate policy. The terms of the policy are as stated: Bookings canceled at least 30 days before the start of the stay will receive 100% refund. Bookings canceled at least 14 days before the start of the stay will receive 50% refund.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Cabin Fever is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival. Early check-in is not available during the summer conference season.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Cabin Fever has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WILL FIREWOOD BE PROVIDED?

Firewood is not supplied by Greybeard. Some houses will have small supply of firewood for renter use; however, it is best to purchase your own small bundle of wood or Duraflame pressed logs at the local grocery store. Cutting branches, limbs or trees on the property is strictly prohibited. You can use limbs found on the ground. This house does provide a firepit. Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit.

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Cabin Fever. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
