Overall

We really enjoyed our stay at this cottage. The location was close to downtown and the street is quiet. The living room and front porch were perfect places to relax. Our only complaint is that the bed was firmer than we like. Overall, we will definitely try to rent this cottage again when visiting the area.

Not only was the condition and layout of the cottage suitable for our needs, but the experience of the lessors was evident, in the small details of what was available at hand for the lessees; things in place which weren't mandatory or strictly "in the agreement," but many little things that made life convenient and helped to keep the property in good usable condition for the next guest(s.)

Loved this little home/cottage. Everything was clean and well maintained. The kitchen had everything to prepare and enjoy are meals. Loved the fenced in yard for our fur baby and the porch sitting area. Quiet neighborhood with easy access to the downtown area. A nice walking trail very close.

This is the perfect little cottage for a getaway. The house was exceptionally clean, well-appointed, and very welcoming. The fenced yard was fantastic, as we travel with our dog. Black Mountain has quickly become our favorite destination in Western NC! There's lots of hiking close by, a great little downtown with restaurants and shops, and downtown Asheville is just a 20-minute drive. We'll be back next year :)

Overall

Small but super friendly and laid out perfectly for two parents and two children, under 7. Neat as a pin, every desirable convenience, except for a tabletop oven-toaster. Queen mattress a little hard, but ok. This cottage is a perfect breakaway for anyone looking for a stay without any real cares. We would certainly rent it again. The owners have thought of every way both kids and parents can enjoy themselves with books, games two excellent tvs, and modern appliances. Excellence in a small package!

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Breakaway Cottage. The living area is fine, but the big, open back room is fantastic! The room is surrounded by windows, but is still cozy. It was an easy walk to Downtown Black Mountain and an easy drive to everywhere else. Our only complaint was that the mattresses were too firm for our liking, especially the twin beds. The fenced yard was great as was the comfortable front porch. Breakaway Cottage was the perfect spot to stay for a small group in Black Mountain.
