Blueberry Grove is a one-of-a-kind escape nestled on 5 acres in the heart of Black Mountain, NC. This charming home sits on a registered organic blueberry farm that offers peaceful privacy, stunning gardens, forested walking trails, and direct access to Flat Creek—all just a 5-minute stroll from the shops, cafes, and breweries of downtown. Blending nature with convenience, Blueberry Grove is a true mountain-town oasis.

About the Home
• Spacious kitchen with dishwasher, drip-style coffee maker, Keurig, pantry, and eat-in dining for 6
• Cozy living room with local art, handcrafted shelving, books, puzzles, board games, and a TV for streaming; the fireplace is not accessible for guest use
• Sunroom with seating and access to the patio and gas grill
• Converted barn game room with ping pong, corn hole, and large Connect 4
• Wood-burning fire pit with seating and nearby access to Flat Creek
• Guests are welcome to pick as many berries as they like during blueberry season, which runs from late July to early September, peaking in August

I recently stayed at Blueberry Grove in Black Mountain. The house was beautiful and meticulously maintained. We had a problem with the Internet and not only did I receive a quick response but the technician was able to fix the problem. Communication was prompt and professional. I will definitely book one of their rentals again!

We have been coming to visit our daughter, in Asheville for 12 years. This was our second stay at Blueberry Grove and it is by far our favorite vacation rental in the area. You can not beat the location. It is the best of both worlds. You can easily walk to downtown Black Mountain and you also have the spacious beautiful property to relax by the creek. The house is well stocked with everything you need from towels extra pillows and blankets and any kitchen item you might need. Greybeard Rental staff is very responsive and helpful and they treated us to a bag of wonderful Dynamite Roasters Coffee.

Our stay this week at Blueberry Grove could not have been better. Highly recommend this restful retreat alongside the Flat Creek, amidst acres of trees and vegetation, and surrounded by and embracing nature’s beauty encompassing the property. From sunrise to sunset, the property offers something for everyone and invites guests like us to explore its numerous outdoor spaces. Several sitting areas, walking paths, and a barn full of fun activities for guests of all ages are all easily accessible. Inside the home, you’ll find very well maintained and thoughtfully curated spaces that appeal to relaxation, gatherings and activities. We loved how private and secluded the home felt, while at the same time, it is a very short and easy walk into downtown Black Mountain and all of the towns different dining and shopping offerings. The community of Black Mountain is a (not so maybe) hidden gem - it's difficult not to love everything and everyone here. Greybeard Rentals were easy and great to work with throughout our stay. Blueberry Grove’s owners were wonderful hosts and are clearly invested in ensuring that their home and guests are cared for. Highly recommend this retreat - thank you Blueberry Grove!

A small group of us stayed at Blueberry Grove this week (March 2025). This is an outstanding little sliver of heaven tucked in the midst of Black Mountain. All the fun and delight of that area, matched with a truly relaxing and amenity-rich home. The owners reached out to assure us (before we arrived) they were making great strides to return the grounds to tip-top shape following Helene, and they absolutely have. The gardens and trails and land alongside the river have been tended to with astonishing love and create a sense of serenity that is unmatched. The love they have for their home and their property shines through in every possible way. Restaurants and shops are open for business and you will not lack for plenty of entertainment or relaxation. We've stayed in a number of houses throughout Asheville, Black Mountain, and Montreat, and Blueberry Grove is a gem. Book the Grove with confidence and look forward to a great getaway.

Perfect for family fun

Our second time visiting Blueberry Grove and once again was the perfect family vacation. The home was extremely comfortable for four adults and two college kids, comfortable furniture, lovely bedding, well-appointed kitchen. The beds are comfortable with lovely linens, everything you need has been provided. The red barn in the backyard and fire pit with chairs was perfect for the whole family for ping pong tournaments and corn hole. The fenced dog run was apparently destroyed in the hurricane, understandable with the damage that occurred throughout the area. The landscaping and outdoor space was perfectly groomed, you would never know that a terrible storm created impact. Another great stay, thank you for ensuring we had a wonderful stay!

The Blueberry Grove is a well maintained home with more than enough amenities. Location to town is perfect. And sitting on five acres makes it your own oasis. Enjoyed our stay.

Blueberry Grove was a very comfortable and relaxing place to vacation. The grounds were beautifully landscaped which made our outdoor time very enjoyable. We liked how close it was to shops and restaurants. The people of Black Mountain were very friendly.

Such a sweet house, ideally suited with zoned bedrooms and 5 acres to enjoy with family and children. Best-equipped kitchen we’ve ever had and so many thoughtful things, even flashlights for the power outage last night. Clean and plenty of room inside and out. Will come back when we can.

Perfect for families

Since Easter was early this year, the weather was cold and we couldn’t be outside with the grandchildren as much as we had planned but we still had a wonderful family time. The house was immaculately clean. The cookware and other kitchen items were very nice which is unusual for a vacation rental. Because of past experiences in other rentals, I take my own cookware on vacation but didn’t even have to unload mine for this house. The property is beautifully maintained and landscaped. We enjoyed strolls around the grounds and to the creek. The house is only a few minutes from downtown and lots of restaurants. We highly recommend this vacation home.

Camp Friends Retreat

The home accommodates 6 people easily and there is enough dining space for 10 if you have guest. 4 of us shared the home while visiting the area for a reunion. The home is relatively new, tastefully decorated And very comfortable. The property is large and bordered by a creek. There is a fire pit Available which we used last year, but it was too warm this year. The oven is not hearing properly. Greybeard was very prompt with maintenance to address the issue, but it still did not heat well enough to heat a casserole I will provide more detail to Greybeard so they can address it. It is really the only issue we had. The home is in an excellent location to access wonderfully small independent restaurants so we had a good reason to go out more.

Highly recommend Blueberry Grove! It is a lovely house on a beautiful piece of property. The only negative is the mattress in the master bedroom needs to be replaced.

My family will reserve Blueberry Grove again. The house, the grounds, the creek all made the best vacation. We really appreciated that it had a washer and dryer. The games in the barn were wonderful. Just wish the blueberries had been ready to pick. There are going to be so many in July!

Relaxing oasis and walkable to downtown Black Mountain

Beautiful newer home with well tended landscaping and blueberry grove. The property is exactly as described and photographed. Well appointed kitchen, very comfortable beds, beautiful local art on the walls, and much attention to detail throughout the house. The home exudes charm, warmth and a nice family home spirit. There are front and back porches, a wonderful barn with games including a ping pong table, and a bubbling brook that runs through the property. The Greybeard rental company is excellent, as they seem to run this property as if it were a fancy hotel. There is a short walk to downtown and area restaurants.

We rented Blueberry Grove as a gathering place for family members traveling to Black Mountain from Texas, Florida, and Pennsylvania to spend Christmas week with out mother who lives here. Although the weather was unusually cold, the house was warm and cozy. We bundled up and enjoyed playing ping-pong tournaments in the party barn, visiting around the blazing fire pit, cooking on the grill and in the well-stocked kitchen, and walking around the beautiful grounds enjoying the wintry, ice-laced Flat Creek. Everything in the house is clean and new, and there are lots of thoughtful touches throughout: local art, games, helpful labels on light switches, clear and friendly instructions and suggestions for things to do, lots of things to do and different areas to gather (living room, porch, patio, party barn, fire pit, etc.), plenty of firewood -- and the list goes on. We also appreciated being able to check in early when some of our family members arrived ahead of schedule. Thank you for a wonderful stay! :)

The house was decorated so thoughtfully with works by local artists, furnishings are comfortable, everything designed for guest comfort. We loved the huge yard and barn filled with games. The fire pit came in handy as a gathering spot for the family.

My first impression when we drove up and saw the gardens so nicely kept was a jaw hanging open and an \"oh my gosh\"! The gardens are beautiful and so nicely maintained. The inside of the house is just as beautifully appointed and comfortable. We loved how clean it was. Normally the first thing that I do when we get to a rental is to wash dishes do that I know they are clean but I had no worries here.

We loved the heater fan in the primary bathroom, the hand held shower head in the guest bath, the fantastic back porch and outdoor furniture. It was all very nice. I meant to take pictures and video of the kitchen counter. It was gorgeous and we are remodeling our primary bathroom next year. I want to find this same granite to use in our bathroom.

Our dogs loved walking around the yard every day and sniffing what critters had wandered through in the overnight hours. The fenced in yard was perfect for them to get their zoomies out.

The only thing I could think of is to have blinds in the windows about the bed in the primary bedroom. I like a really dark room for sleeping and a fair amount of light came through the 2 windows without blinds. Thankfully I always travel with a sleep mask so it wasn't waking me up at 6am. Trust me, I'm not pleasant at that time of morning. LOL

We loved our stay so much. This was our favorite mountain rental ever. Our older dog just finished chemotherapy for aggressive cancer. This may have been our last family vacation with him and he enjoyed his adventures here. We could not have hoped for more. We made memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you!

The was spotless, beautifully decorated and in an ideal location. So much to do just on the property and in the middle of Black Mountain's great downtown.

Blueberry Grove was just what we needed. My 8 and 11 year old grandgirls loved exploring the beautiful farm. They spent time wading in the creek, picking blueberries, playing in the "party barn," and reading on the porches. The home is furnished very well and guarantees a comfortable, relaxing visit. We were all sad to leave.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Blueberry Grove. The house is spacious, clean, and well stocked with everything we needed. The outdoor space is incomparable and perfect for our little ones to safely explore outside. It is very close to downtown and a short walk for coffee or lunch at many great options.

A fantastic house and property … great to sit out by the creek in late afternoon shade listening to the sounds of the water. Walking trails all along the creek. WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Blueberry Grove is located in Black Mountain and is less than a 5-minute drive and 8-minute walk to its downtown area, and it's approximately 20 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

This property offers a flexible cancellation policy that differs from the standard cancellation policy. The policy for this home is the relaxed policy. The terms of the policy are as stated:  RELAXED - Bookings canceled at least 14 days before the start of the stay will receive 100% refund. Bookings canceled at least 7 days before the start of the stay will receive 50% refund.  

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Blueberry Grove is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Blueberry Grove has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and select option 1, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION & WILL THERE BE FIREWOOD PROVIDED?

The indoor gas logs fireplace at Blueberry Grove is NOT functional. However, there is an outdoor fire pit at the home to enjoy. Firewood is not supplied by Greybeard, but some houses may have a small leftover supply of firewood for renter use. We recommend purchasing your own small bundle of wood or Duraflame pressed logs at the local grocery store. Cutting branches, limbs, or trees on the property is strictly prohibited. You can use limbs found on the ground. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Blueberry Grove. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
