Blue Skye is a charming 1916 bungalow tucked into the heart of Montreat, where the rhythm of Flat Creek and the footsteps of morning walkers set the pace for a peaceful mountain getaway. Whether you're relaxing on the classic covered front porch with coffee in hand or hiking the nearby trails, Blue Skye offers a delightful blend of serenity, convenience, and timeless character.

About the Home
• Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, drip-style coffeemaker, and breakfast table for 2
• Open-concept living and dining area with seating for 6, wood-burning fireplace, and 40" TV for streaming
• Covered front porch with seating and spacious backyard with gazebo 
• Blue Skye provides sheets and towels for your visit. For your convenience, beds will be made for stays from mid-August through May. During the summer Montreat Conference season, typically from the 1st Saturday in June to the 1st Saturday in August, linens will be delivered to the home and available in professionally laundered linen bags.

Great size, location, setting for our trip. My sister could work, my mother could sew, and I got a chance to relax. -5 stars on the hurricane, but the house protected us well!! Location was drenched but it was not damaged by storm. We did not worry for our safety. Just the general well being of everyone really affected.

A wonderful visit to the Mountains. House was clean and well taken care of, and it was the perfect spot for a nice walk to the conference center.

This very cozy and well-appointed home just inside the Montreat gate was perfect for our family of five. The owners have done a nice job with the furnishings and stocked the kitchen with every pot or pan you could need. It does not feel like a rental property can oftentimes feel, as if furniture was thrown together and someone said, "ta-da, it's a rental property." It was also impeccably clean. Thank you, Greybeard Properties!

Blue Sky was cozy and warm for our family over New Year week. We enjoyed the trails and streams of Montreat. The new mattress was a plus. It was our second stay in Blue Sky and probably not our last.

My wife is a superhost for an airnrb we own and our stay had most all the amenities she provides. Very nice house and the heat worked well. The surrounding areas to walk on the trails and walk to downtown Black Mountain was enjoyable as well as conversing with the many neighbors walking the sidewalks.

It was terrific. Reservations and access were seamless. The house was just as it appeared on the website. It was exactly what we needed for our small family Thanksgiving.

The hiking trail along the creek is only 40 feet away!

The house is perfectly located in Montreat with access to hiking trails and opportunities to take-in events/shops in Black Mountain. If you are looking for a place for a family of 6 to get away and enjoy time together, then Blue Skye is perfect. It was a great family time!

Our family of 4 stayed for 10 days and loved exploring the National Forest and parks! Blue Skye fit our needs perfectly. The house is in a great location and well-appointed. We had everything we needed in the kitchen to make several meals at home.

FAQs

HERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Blue Skye is located in Montreat. This home is approximately 10 minutes to Black Mountain and 30 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance . Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Blue Skye is not “pet friendly”. Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet friendly property during your visit, you will be charged a minimum of $600 to clean carpets, upholstered furniture and complete air purification measures. Bringing a pet to a house that is not pet-friendly without owner consent or permission from Greybeard is grounds for termination of the rental agreement without refund. If you must travel with your pet, please contact us for local boarding recommendations. More info about service animals and the ADA is available here.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival. Early check-in is not available during the summer conference season. 

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

You will pick up keys from our Black Mountain office, located at 204 East State Street. Keys will be available starting at 4:00 pm. If you are arriving after hours, you will receive instructions on how to access the safe on our front porch. There will be an envelope with your name and house name at the top. Your keys and driving directions will be inside the envelope.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

IS THERE A FIRE PIT AT THIS HOUSE?

This house does not provide a firepit. Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Blue Skye. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
