The 26th annual Greening Up the Mountains Festival is set to take place on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 10 AM-4 PM. Celebrating the arrival of Spring, the festival is held in downtown Sylva (50 minutes west of Asheville) and welcomes upwards of 12,000+ attendees.

You'll find traditional heritage crafts along Main Street and Railroad Avenue, including wood carvers, cane chair makers, corn shuck doll crafters, basket makers, crochet artists, knitters, and more. There will be fair food, local craft breweries, three music stages with local bands, dancing performances, and a talent show. If you bring the kiddos along, they can enjoy activities that include storytelling, face painting, and an inflatable slide. There's also a 5K Run that takes place at 9 AM.

While in downtown Sylva, be sure to explore the local shops and walk the stairs to the "Most Photographed Courthouse in North Carolina" (Jackson County).
