Shindig on the Green

Shindig on the Green is a family-friendly event that includes live bluegrass, clogging, and 'mountain dance' in Pack Square Park in downtown Asheville. Come "along about sundown" on Saturdays from 7-10 p.m. during the summer beginning July 1st and ending August 26th. 

Shindig on the Green, produced by the Folk Heritage Committee, a committee that is also responsible for the Mountain Dance and Folk Festival, takes place in the heart of downtown Asheville at Pack Square Park's Roger McGuire Green. This free event now boasts between 3,000-5,000 attendees annually since its legacy of great music and dance began in 1967.

Food vendors are available on-site, and performances range from house band the Stoney Creek Boys to Bluegrass and Old-Time String Bands, Big Circle Mountain Dancers, Clog Dancers, and more.
