The Black Mountain Ale Trail is the first guided brewery tour in the Black Mountain area! The trail will give you an inside look at the brewing process at some of the area's best breweries, which you won’t see on any other tour. The Black Mountain Ale Trail provides a safe, affordable, and informative way for guests to explore local breweries and sample their beer, as well as learn more about the region as a whole.

Each trek will begin and end in the parking lot behind Black Mountain Brewing, in the heart of downtown Black Mountain, and last approximately 3 hours. At Black Mountain Brewing, guests will be shown the brew house and fermentation tanks, with a brief description of the brewing process, followed by a beer tasting. From there, the group will get on a bus and ride up the road to Lookout Brewing Company to see the difference between the breweries, as well as taste some of the beer made in-house there.

After Lookout, the bus will take you on the scenic route through Mill Creek Forest down the mountain to Old Fort and Hillman Beer where you'll will be able to sit and enjoy the brewery’s creekside location, taste a few of their beers, and see the brew house, situated right inside the taproom. After the tour, stick around to enjoy food from SMOKE food truck, or head out to explore more of beautiful Black Mountain!
