Property Highlights

Spacious and immaculate Laurel Ridge home with mountain views and open living spaces, including two living areas, a gas fireplace, luxurious finishes, and a wonderful fire table to enjoy on the deck while soaking in the view. Gourmet kitchen on main level looking out into dining area and den make cooking fun!

Laurel Ridge is a private, gated community 10 minutes to downtown Black Mountain's shopping and restaurants. You're also 20 minutes to the Blue Ridge Parkway and 25 minutes to downtown Asheville.

House layout:
The main level- enter the house into a spacious great room with vaulted ceilings and a large 48 inch Smart TV for streaming only (Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon via Roku), room with a table and 4 chairs that's perfect for playing cards or games; half bath; the primary bedroom has a king bed, an amazing view and a private full bath (which features a jetted tub with separate shower and double sinks); fully stocked gourmet kitchen and island that seats 3; dining area and table that seats 8 (additional chairs available in next room); second living room/den that is featured off the kitchen with gas logs.

Upstairs- A bedroom with a queen bed and full bath (shower only). Another bedroom with a queen bed. There is a full bath (Jack-n-Jill style) that you can access from the hallway or this bedroom with the queen bed. There is a room with 2 twin beds and another room with a double bed and coffee bar with sink.

Outdoors- large deck with incredible views of the mountain and reservoir; fire table and gas grill; easily accessible parking for 4 cars and access to the garage if needed.

Please note there is a "whole house" generator so if there is a power outage, you won't even know. Greybeard homes are located in close proximity to Pisgah National Forest. Ladybugs and Kudzu Beetles may be seen in our area in the fall and winter months, and it is not uncommon for them to find their way into homes to escape the cooler weather from time to time. They are not poisonous and cannot be exterminated.

FAQ

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Viewmont is located in Black Mountain within the private gated community of Laurel Ridge. Please note that this community restricts the use of ATVs and hiking on private property.

Viewmont is approximately 10 minutes to downtown Black Mountain and 30 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map. 

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus a $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance . Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Viewmont is not “pet friendly”. Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet friendly property during your visit, you will be charged a minimum of $600 to clean carpets, upholstered furniture and complete air purification measures. Bringing a pet to a house that is not pet-friendly without owner consent or permission from Greybeard is grounds for termination of the rental agreement without refund. If you must travel with your pet, please contact us for local boarding recommendations. More info about service animals and the ADA is available here.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Viewmont has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION?

Viewmont has a gas logs fireplace for guests to use. Gas logs are not in operation May through September due to the warmer summer months. 

Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit, which is not provided at Viewmont. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Viewmont. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.

The house is very cozy and feels like home. Well equipped, clean, and the shower in the master bedroom is amazing, especially after a long hike. The deck is set up perfectly to enjoy the gorgeous mountain view.

The house was in great shape and very much felt like a real home with all the amenities. Solidly built and appointed beautifully. We loved the fire table, huge deck and stunning views. A great time for our family including the little ones.

From check in to check out, our stay at Viewmont was amazing. The house is in a great location with breathtaking views and yet close to everything Black Mountain has to offer. Everything one could need is provided for in this very well appointed and maintained home. It was our first but will not be our last visit!

The views are spectacular and the house is spacious, beautiful and very comfortable. Great kitchen, beautiful deck. It could not have been better! We hope to book it again soon!

This incredible home exceeded our expectations and provided all the comforts and views you can imagine. The area is peaceful and convenient to both hiking trails and shopping. Enjoying the fire pit on the upper deck was a highlight of our time here!

A very peaceful getaway. There was plenty of room for all of us, including two toddlers. Sitting on the very private deck enjoying the beautiful views with coffee in the morning and the fire in the evening was just perfect. Close to hiking trails (Catawba Falls was a favorite) and to town (Black Mountain has a quaint downtown with restaurants, breweries and stores). We saw a bear, beaver, and turkeys in the neighborhood! I hope we can return!

Wonderful, beautiful home in the mountains. We saw wild turkeys every day and a baby black bear! The house is clean, well maintained, with an easy check in and great communication . We had no issues. Gorgeous views from the main floor and the back deck. Beds are comfortable plenty of towels . Was also referred to a rental company for inexpensive baby gear which was super helpful! Thank you and we will rent this home again<BR>

It was the most relaxing, beautiful, peaceful vacation we've ever had. Perfect for a family and the views from the terrace were breathtaking. The kitchen was stocked with every utensil you could ever need. Laurel Ridge is a wonderful community and the location was perfect.

Our family had such an amazing time at this cabin. The location just outside of downtown Black Mountain made it so easy to head into town for dining and shopping. The views are amazing and the cabin had everything you need for a fantastic stay.
