Located south of Asheville by 30-40 miles at the South Carolina border, Tryon is the home of the Tryon International Equestrian Center which offers a flurry of year-round activities for horse enthusiasts. Many cabin rentals in Tryon also offer convenient access to places like Lake Lure, Flat Rock, Hendersonville and Saluda. 

Downtown Tryon has a thriving arts community with the Tryon Theater, the Tryon Arts & Crafts School, art galleries, artisan shops and the Old Mill Market Square with 80,000 square feet of antiques supplied by over 90 vendors. 

Any visit to Tryon is made complete by visiting the Tryon International Equestrian Center. The center offers a variety of equestrian competitions and most Saturday nights in the spring through fall features "Saturday Night Lights" with a variety of free activities and competitions.
