Sugarhaus is a bright, open cottage with a great deck overlooking the mountains. It is comfortable and roomy with a large living room for gathering around the fireplace. Two main-level bedrooms make this house perfect for a few couples trying to get away, but there's also additional sleeping upstairs to accommodate larger groups and families. Linens are included.

Nestled in Ridgecrest, in the beautiful mountains above quaint Black Mountain, you're 5 minutes from many local shops and restaurants. You're also 20 minutes to the arts and restaurants of Asheville, Sugarhaus is a wonderful place for families or friends to get together in one of the most desirable areas of the country.

Main level- living room with TV and wood-burning fireplace; dining area with seating for 10; full kitchen with island seating for 3 (please note there is no dishwasher, and the washer & dryer is off the kitchen); bedroom with queen, twin bed, and full bath, second bedroom also with a queen, twin bed, and full bath, and a sleeping nook with double bed; full hall bath with shower only.

This was our very first cabin experience as a family and it was an amazing one. Highly recommend the Black Mountain area as well as this cabin for the size as well as location.

Kids were happy so parents were happy!

Only suggestion, which we read in other reviews, it's very hard to find if you arrive at night so coordinate your arrival time accordingly. :)

Greatly enjoyed our stay at Sugar Haus Cabin for a family of 7. Fully equipped cabin with linens, plenty of towels, games, fully functioning fireplace and fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer. Cabin was clean and homey. Very responsive and attentive to any requests. Also very close to highways and relatively central to different attractions in Asheville. We were greatly satisfied with the lodgings and overall experience.

Our family loved Sugarhaus. It is charming, warm, clean with lots of room. We also really liked the location. You feel like your are tucked in woods but downtown Asheville is a quick drive away. We'll be back.

One of the best features is the large open common space. It was perfect for our larger group. Thanks for a great place to spend a weekend!

We had a great time with family. When we first arrived it was noted no hot water. My husband determined that hot water heater was not on and he was able to fix. We also found a cheese puff in couch from previous guests. We enjoyed downtown Black Mountain, ate lunch at Veranda and dinner at Trailhead. Everyone was friendly and both meals were fantastic. We plan on returning again sometime to create more memories

The Sugarhaus provided the perfect space for our family from three different parts of the country to gather during the Christmas Holidays. The bedrooms were spacious and cozy. The living room with the fireplace was so inviting and comfortable with plenty of space for the children and adults to interact. The kitchen was well furnished and so functional.

Beautiful home, comfortably slept 7 people and could have accommodated a larger party.

We did have some ants in the house and the beginning of a wasp nest right outside the door, but these are seasonal issues.

Family Lodging for Daughter's Wedding

Our family stayed in Sugarhaus while preparing for our daughter's wedding. There was plenty of room for all of us. The large table made a great work space for frosting cupcakes and making bouquets. The beds were all comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The loft was such fun for the girls to laugh and spend special time together. Greybeard Realty was wonderful when we needed to add an extra day. It was a very special place for a very special time! We hope to come back and visit when we don't have to put together a wedding and can enjoy the beautiful mountains!

The cabin was very nice and clean. It is near Ridgecrest and during the summer it is a great place to get away and relax from the busy life at home. Our group included adult children and grand children so with extended family it was just that much better.

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Sugarhaus is located in Black Mountain. This home is approximately 10 minutes to downtown Black Mountain and 30 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Sugarhaus is not “pet friendly”. Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet friendly property during your visit, you will be charged a minimum of $600 to clean carpets, upholstered furniture and complete air purification measures. Bringing a pet to a house that is not pet-friendly without owner consent or permission from Greybeard is grounds for termination of the rental agreement without refund. If you must travel with your pet, please contact us for local boarding recommendations. More info about service animals and the ADA is available here.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

You will receive check-in instructions prior to your arrival with driving directions and key access information. You do not need to stop by our office to pick up your keys. You will go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION?

Gas logs are not in operation May through September due to the warmer summer months.

Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit.

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Sugarhaus. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
