Stairway to Heaven is a beautiful 3 bedroom, 3 bath cabin with incredible views! The beauty begins at the creek as soon as you turn into the gated driveway. The rushing creek that flows under the gated entry welcomes guests with a breath of fresh air. Renters will take in the surrounding nature as they climb up the winding, paved drive. 2WD vehicles can make the climb with a steady pace, AWD or 4WD is recommended. Once at the top, the views are simply breathtaking. Easy access into the home from the parking area. Renters walk into the spacious family room with cathedral ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a wood fireplace (firewood not supplied).

Primary bedroom with queen bed and en suite bath with walk-in shower. The main floor also includes the kitchen (Keurig) and laundry room. Large back deck to soak in the mountain air and views as well as a side-covered screened porch with a sitting area and picnic table. The upper level includes a bedroom with a queen bed, a Jack and Jill bath with a tub and shower. This leads into a bedroom with two twin beds. The lower level includes a spacious den with a bar, a smart TV for streaming, and a game table. There is a full bath with tub/shower on this level as well as an extra playroom. The rock patio off of the den includes an outdoor wood fireplace (firewood not supplied) and views. Also outside you'll find a charcoal grill to whip up delicious favorites!

Stairway to Heaven is minutes from Toms Creek Falls, Linville Caverns, Linville Falls Golf Course, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and Linville Falls. This cabin is also in the perfect location with a short drive from world-famous Christmas tree farms, Grandfather Mountain, Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain ski resorts, Emerald Village Gem Mining, and Lake James State Park. Hike any one of the nearby hiking trails during the day then stop by the Linville Falls Winery on your way back to the cabin. Less than 30 minutes away, explore the local shops, restaurants, and breweries in downtown Marion. If you're looking to enjoy some nightlife, check out Marion's Mica Town Brewing Company, Refinery 13 Taproom, and Spillway Bridge & Co. The Biltmore Estate, downtown Asheville, and Black Mountain are also within an hour's drive.

Please Note: There is an outdoor security camera. This home is pet friendly with an additional $100 pet fee. Greybeard homes are located near Pisgah National Forest. Ladybugs and Kudzu Beetles may be seen in our area and it is not uncommon for them to find their way into homes from time to time.

Overall

Not a major issue however the water temperature was lukewarm each day. Hot shower would have been nice. Beautiful Cabin with glorious View!

After our first, quasi-terrifying journey up the driveway we came upon nirvana. (The driveway is beautifully paved and maintained and isn't so bad after the initial ride) The property is just what we were looking for, set on 30 acres of privacy, dog friendly with room for our gal to run. The dark skies made for AMAZING stars and the fireflies were plentiful and hypnotic. The house is well appointed and comfortable.

The property is secluded but absolutely worth the drive up the road. The road up is steep but very doable and without anything too difficult. Once at the top you'll find sweeping and clear views of the valley and a breathtaking view of the mountain face behind it. It is a very well equipped property, lovely kitchen and a great variety of games for families. Loved the two porches to use and the large windows in the living room give it an incredibly warm and homey feeling.
Be warned- this is a cabin in the woods of a national park, if you can't be understanding enough to know that comes with some bugs or spider webs here or there, nothing extreme.. then maybe you're better off in a tourist trap cabin in pigeon forge type area. However, if you love peace, serenity and a truly relaxing rental with views you won't want to leave, this is your spot.
Also, super huge thank you to the Greybeard staff, especially Amy and Diana who did everything they could to help when I started my day with a dead truck battery. Truly wonderful service.

Beautiful home, with a cozy feeling that makes you feel just like home. I love how there is no other cabins close by and your all by your self . Very beautiful view of mountains. I can't wait to go back with my family and stay at such a beautiful place!

Our stay at Stairway To Heaven was incredible, didn't want to leave! Property is very well maintained and clean. We felt right at home and the kitchen, with a gas oven, was perfect for us as we love to cook. It had everything we needed including nice pans etc.. the screened in porch was a favorite spot and this cabin is a lot larger than I thought it was going to be. We have no complaints and highly recommend this cabin!
The only downside is the road up to the cabin. It's beautiful scenery, but steep. We were in a truck and it was not an easy climb. A 4 wheel drive or an suv type should be just fine. Once up there you'll be thrilled!

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Stairway to Heaven is located in Marion. This home is approximately 20 minutes to downtown Marion, 40 minutes to Black Mountain, and 55 minutes to downtown Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Stairway to Heaven is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival. Early check-in is not available during the summer conference season.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

You will receive check-in instructions prior to your arrival with driving directions and key access information. You do not need to stop by our office to pick up your keys. You will go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

For homes that collect a security deposit, after an inspection, security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Stairway to Heaven. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
