Description

Oliver's Upstairs is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood, a five minute walk from downtown Black Mountain. Asheville, Biltmore Estate and the Grove Park Inn are a mere 20 minute drive away. Oliver's Upstairs was completed in 2012 with great attention to detail, and is above a one-man custom furniture makers shop called Oliver's Woodworks (the owner doesn't work everyday, but if he's using the workshop, it would be between 8am and 6pm). All the oak trim and the railings are custom crafted from an oak tree that had fallen during a storm in nearby Montreat. Two of the closet doors were crafted from reclaimed barn wood. The custom Hickory kitchen is fully equipped and has all the amenities. Enjoy morning coffee and dining on the back porch. The bedroom has a queen bed.
Luxurious sheets and towels are provided for your convenience.

Included with the monthly rent is $100 per month power allowance and $50 per month water allowance. Any overage to be reimbursed by tenant.

This home only sleeps two people.

FAQ

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Oliver's Upstairs is located in Black Mountain. This home is less than 5 minutes to downtown Black Mountain and approximately 25 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Oliver's Upstairs is not “pet friendly”. Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet friendly property during your visit, you will be charged a minimum of $600 to clean carpets, upholstered furniture and complete air purification measures. Bringing a pet to a house that is not pet-friendly without owner consent or permission from Greybeard is grounds for termination of the rental agreement without refund. If you must travel with your pet, please contact us for local boarding recommendations. More info about service animals and the ADA is available here.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

You will pick up keys from our Black Mountain office, located at 204 East State Street. Keys will be available starting at 4:00 pm. If you are arriving after hours, you will receive instructions on how to access the safe on our front porch. There will be an envelope with your name and house name at the top. Your keys and driving directions will be inside the envelope.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION?

Gas logs are not in operation May through September due to the warmer summer months. 

Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Oliver's Upstairs. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.

- Centrally located in the Western NC Mountains. A great base for your explorations. <BR>- Delightful, comfortable, spotless apartment, fully equipped, lovingly finished with fine craftsmanship and materials, furnishings, and decor. <BR>- Private, "in the woods" feel with a great back deck overlooking verdant forest. Perfect for breakfast or for cocktails in the evening.<BR>- Great hosts/owners next door will default to respecting your privacy, but will follow your lead if you wish closer contact. <BR>- Black Mountain center is a short walk down the hill. Big enough to have everything you need, small enough to feel comfortable and charming.<BR>- We will be back.

This was the best unit we have ever rented and we rent a lot. Allen and Merle (owners who live next door)were super nice people that we enjoyed getting to know.We would definitely recommend this rental if you are looking a place to rent in Black Mountain.

My husband and I loved our 3 months living at Olivers Upstairs. The apartment was very clean and the overall craftsmanship was superb. It was highly efficient (everything worked so well) and easy to live in and the location was walking distance to Lake Tomahawk and the wonderful town of Black Mountain. <br/><br/>The owners provided excellent service and advice any time we had a question or needed anything. We will definitely recommend Olivers Upstairs to our relatives and friends.

Oliver's Upstairs offers the true Black Mountain experience. The above-garage apartment was hand built by the master carpenter with beautiful white oak cabinets and floors. All of the fixtures are premium with every detail well thought out. The furnished rental offers complete comfort. You are a ten minute walk from downtown through beautiful Black Mountain neighborhoods. I will be back again soon.

We stayed at Oliver's Upstairs for almost 8 months while our house was being built across town. With its one queen bedroom, it's perfect for one person or a couple. Allen and Merle responded immediately to any needs we had. They built this special place, above Allen's workshop. It's very well equipped with linens, kitchen equipment and good lighting. There are stairs and a short steep driveway, which we learned to navigate! Being just 7 blocks from town center & 4 from Lake Tomahawk, we could easily walk to restaurants, shopping and concerts. We loved it!

This 800sf apartment has everything a single or couple needs for a very happy month in Black Mountain. Well-equipped, beautifully built, walking distance to town center and to Lake Tomahawk with great hosts.
