This custom-built cabin offers plenty of room to enjoy the great outdoors. Sit and relax on the spacious side deck or covered front porch while you take in the views and grill out, or lounge around the outdoor fire pit and stargaze. Little Red Riding Hood Cabin offers cozy indoor spaces with everything needed for a great mountain escape - a queen bed, one twin-size bed, a walk-in shower, a full kitchen, and an open dining room, kitchen, and living room. The 2-person hot tub will have you relaxing and loving the wooded surroundings. Truly a cabin to get away from the hectic and enjoy the quiet life.

Offering a great place to retreat while also being within convenient proximity to Asheville area activities, Little Red Riding Hood Cabin is a quick 15-minute drive to Black Mountain and another 15 minutes to Asheville. It is also a quick 10-minute drive to downtown Marion, where you can enjoy good eats, Mica Town Brewing, Refinery 13, and more. Enjoy the waterfalls of Catawba Falls (within a short 10-minute drive) and Linville Falls (within a scenic 45-minute drive) and all of the scenic overlooks and hikes along the iconic Blue Ridge Parkway!

Please Note: Little Red Riding Hood Cabin is pet friendly with an additional pet fee. WiFi was added in September 2022!

FAQ

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Little Red Riding Hood Cabin is located in Old Fort. This home is approximately a 15-minute drive to Black Mountain and Marion, and approximately a 30-minute drive to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Little Red Riding Hood Cabin is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems, we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash. 

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

You will receive check-in instructions prior to your arrival with driving directions and key access information. You do not need to stop by our office to pick up your keys. You will go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and select option 1, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WILL THERE BE FIREWOOD AT THE HOUSE? 

This home provides an outdoor fire pit. Firewood is not supplied by Greybeard. Some houses will have a small supply of firewood for renter use; however, it is best to purchase your own small bundle of wood or Duraflame pressed logs at the local grocery store. Cutting branches, limbs or trees on the property is strictly prohibited. You can use limbs found on the ground. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Little Red Riding Hood Cabin, but cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.

Our stay at this cabin was great! It was very clean, decor was cute, and the view was great and matched the photos in the cabin description. There were also a number of games for kids and adults which were nice. We would highly recommend it!

We love staying at Bear Tracks; I think this is the 4th or 5th year we have stayed there. It is the perfect cabin for us; just the right size and everything in it is good quality and very nice. We will be coming back next year I am sure!

Great, remote location with incredible views. The cabin was even nicer than the photos and descriptions previewed. Short drives to great hiking and terrific restaurants in Black Mountain. We could not be more pleased with our stay and look forward to visiting again.

My fiance, Lisa, and I had a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing time at Bear Tracks. We found the cabin quaint, warm and cozy and well-maintained/clean. The views were awesome, and we enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. If at all possible, a small washer/dryer combo would be a plus. We may stay there again, and we will contact Greybeard for future rental needs.

We loved the cabin! Waking up in the morning to sunshine and the beautiful flowers around the property was awesome. They have a nice porch swing on one deck and a sunny patio adjacent to it. The hot tub had bubbles! Old Fork is a beautiful town. It was a nice getaway secluded in the mountains, as we spent most of the time in Asheville so privacy was appreciated. The king sized bed was also a nice touch. Very comfortable cabin. Highly recommend

Charming cabin, great location with fantastic privacy - exactly what we were looking for. Cabin was extremely clean and location was very quiet. Hot tub was great for relaxing.

Close to the Catawba waterfalls. Communication was great, the cabin was very clean, it was exactly as advertised. Would stay at the cabin again.

The location isn't too far from 40, but it feels perfectly secluded. We loved the fire pit, porch views, and the hot tub. It was cozy and clean. We would definitely stay there again.

This is an adorable little cabin with all the amenities you could need. This made for an excellent little romantic getaway in the woods. Beautiful views and just 30 minutes from Asheville.

To say we enjoyed our get away to Bear Tracks would be an understatement. In this time of trouble.. The calm of this secluded little cabin was just what the doctor ordered. We enjoyed the gentle breezes and lovely views. The gentle rain falling on the leaves surrounding the cabin was soothing and the morning sunrise was inspirational. Conveniently located we were able to go up to Linville Falls Winery, the parkway, and Black Mountain For shopping. Thank you to Greybeard rental for making the in and out process simple. Would definitely come back!

We enjoyed staying at Bear Tracks. The atmosphere/setting is exactly what we needed and not too far away from some of our daily destination activities. We were very content!

If you are looking for a beautiful, mountain experience, this cabin is great! It gave us the opportunity to enjoy being away from the city, while still having close access to Asheville. Thank you for the clean and well maintained space and the tips for local hiking, coffee, and breweries!

We had a wonderful time at Bear Tracks. The cabin was well appointed and clean. We had a wonderful time exploring Black Mountain, Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, Asheville, the Biltmore, and Jump off Rock-just to name a few.
