Description

Perfect for a romantic getaway or a solo retreat to the mountains, this quaint and cozy guest cottage located within a quiet, tree lined neighborhood just one mile from the charming town of Black Mountain offers absolute comfort and convenience. Being just a short drive or stroll away from the local shops, restaurants, parks, and cafes in town, you’ll have the opportunity to explore everything this area has to offer without having to travel far from your home away from home.

Upon entering Light O’ Morn, you’ll find the living room complete with a small bay window and a smart TV perfect for streaming your favorite shows and films. Up the stairs to the private loft area you’ll find a full size sleeper sofa where you can take an afternoon nap or cozy up with your novel of choice. Just off the living room, you’ll find a full bath with a walk-in shower. Around the corner, you’ll find the kitchen complete with a dishwasher, toaster, tea kettle, and standard coffee maker along with a dining table that seats up to 4. Just off the kitchen, you’ll find the home’s only bedroom which offers a full size bed, closet with shelving, smart TV, and access to the lovely stone patio.

Awake to the soft morning light streaming through your patio doors. Open them up to allow the fresh mountain air inside or walk outside to enjoy your morning coffee and breakfast while reading the newspaper at the patio table with an umbrella. You might even receive a visit from the local turkeys or hawks passing through. During the winter months, you’ll be privy to a partial view of High Windy and Sunset Mountain, while the rest of the year you can enjoy the lush and towering trees surrounding the cottage that bloom and change color with the seasons.

In the evening, prepare a delicious meal using the gas grill that you can enjoy out on the open air patio. After dinner, gather around the solo stove bonfire under the stars to continue enjoying the quiet and peaceful atmosphere. This particular wood-burning fire pit takes up minimal space and prevents pesky smoke while it warms you on those chilly nights.

Light O’ Morn provides the perfect mountain retreat where you can enjoy rest and recreation!

PLEASE NOTE: This is a guest cottage situated behind the owner’s residence in the main house and is accessible via a paved walking path. Firewood is provided for the solo stove. This home is single-level and wheelchair accessible. This home is NOT pet friendly. This home is NON-smoking.

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Light O' Morn is located in Black Mountain. This home is less than 5 minutes to downtown Black Mountain and approximately 25 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Light O'Morn is not “pet friendly”. Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet friendly property during your visit, you will be charged a minimum of $600 to clean carpets, upholstered furniture and complete air purification measures. Bringing a pet to a house that is not pet-friendly without owner consent or permission from Greybeard is grounds for termination of the rental agreement without refund. If you must travel with your pet, please contact us for local boarding recommendations. More info about service animals and the ADA is available here.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Light O' Morn has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION?

This home provides a smokeless firepit. Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Light O'Morn. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
