Description

A log cabin nestled on a quiet street in the town of Black Mountain, Heartwood combines a unique blend of light-filled rustic elegance with the convenience of in-town living. Within walking distance to Lake Tomahawk, golfing and all the shops and restaurants in downtown Black Mountain, you are also 10 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and 15 minutes from Asheville. You can enjoy your morning coffee in the large screened-in back porch or sit in air-conditioned comfort at the kitchen table or the large dining table with seating for eight. The large loft can serve as an office, playroom, or extra bedroom with its fold-out futon. The master bedroom has a queen bed and private bath with shower and whirlpool tub, and the guest bedroom has two, new twin beds with king converter. Sheets and towels are provided for your convenience. Whatever your reason for being in the area, let Heartwood serve as your home-away-from-home.

Included with the monthly rent is $100 per month power allowance and $50 per month water allowance. Any overage to be reimbursed by tenant. (Please note: the woodstove is NOT usable).

FAQ

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Heartwood is located in Black Mountain. This home is less than 5 minutes to downtown Black Mountain and approximately 25 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Heartwood is not “pet friendly”. Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet friendly property during your visit, you will be charged a minimum of $600 to clean carpets, upholstered furniture and complete air purification measures. Bringing a pet to a house that is not pet-friendly without owner consent or permission from Greybeard is grounds for termination of the rental agreement without refund. If you must travel with your pet, please contact us for local boarding recommendations. More info about service animals and the ADA is available here.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Heartwood has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

For homes that collect a security deposit, after an inspection, security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION?

Gas logs are not in operation May through September due to the warmer summer months. 

Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Heartwood. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.

Heartwood is everything you would expect. It is a beautiful, well kept home. If you are looking for a log cabin experience this is the place to stay. Its only a short walk to downtown Black Mountain.We loved it!

This was our second year staying at Heartwood for our vacation. It is a lovely, comfortable house in a neighborhood close to Lake Tomahawk and the downtown area. We have reserved it for next March already. We love Black Mountain and Asheville. There are great restaurants and a variety of things to do.

Our vacation rental was very nice. It was well equipped!, too. The ad says "walking distance" to town. That would be quite a hike! Be prepared to drive everywhere. The town, Black Mountain, is very nice and there are tons of restaurants!
