This quaint Montreat cottage with a stone fireplace has an abundance of cozy furnishings and charm. The upper level and kitchen have been updated. The home is located off Greybeard Trail with a nearby creek that can usually be heard from the covered front porch. It's also a downhill, easy 10-minute walk to the Conference Center.

HOUSE LAYOUT:
Main floor: Kitchen, living room, dining area, bedroom with full bed, bedroom with full bed, bedroom with twin bed, full bath with clawfoot tub/shower and washer/dryer.
Upstairs: Nook with twin bed, bedroom with queen and twin, and full bath with shower only.

PLEASE NOTE: This house is NOT air-conditioned, however, it generally stays cool due to the woods surrounding the house. SHEETS and TOWELS are NOT provided.

Connettes Nest was the perfect amount of space for our group for the Women's Connection Conference. It had everything we needed and provided a a great space to have our meals and chat in the evening. The walkway from the parking to the porch was a bit nerve-wracking in the dark. If it is possible to add lights to the stone portion of the path, that would help.

We loved Connette’s Nest! The cottage was very clean and well cared for. Well stocked with kitchen items, fans, extra quilts. Handy screens available to put in the windows. Loved the hummingbird feeder. Deer came by for a visit. The rocking chairs on the beautiful front porch made for great quality time. Good WiFi. We felt very at home here! Thanks for a wonderful visit!

The front porch was wonderful. The house is close to a stream and we enjoyed listening to the water. We enjoyed using the rocking chairs and swing. The cabin is very comfortable. The gas fireplace did a great job of heating the downstairs. Of course, the best part was being in Montreat.

The upstairs shower leaks around the door, but overall, everything is great. A great place to stay in the mountains.

I have rented this house before and recommended it to a friend. It is rustic authentic Montreat house with a homey feel and equipped nicely. Wonderful porch for relaxing.

Staying in Connette's nest allowed us to be away from the Montreat Conference experience to relax and to be in close proximity to the Greybeard trail head. Enjoyed the quiet, but walked down for the conference activities each morning. Not quite a mile walk, and beautiful. The house has good sleeping accommodations, good kitchen and common areas and a perfect front porch.

I rented Connette's Nest for family coming to Montreat and the Asheville area for a wedding. They were very comfortable though they were only in the house to sleep.

Our stay at Connette's nest began by meeting the mother bird who had built her nest on the porch fan blades! Our accommodations were pleasant and comfortable, quiet and relaxing. Greybeard realty addressed a plumbing issue with speed and courtesy.

Cute cottage and ample room. However, pots and cookie sheets are old and stained. Two stained pot holders made for a negative kitchen experience. Beds upstairs are very comfortable, downstairs not as much. Porch is lovely, but needs some comfortable seating. You can hear the stream all night!

Great. The house is well equipped and comfortable. The booking process was easy, and we had a great time. My only complaint is that there were big black ants in the kitchen area. Not a lot of them, but you would see one every once in a while. There also needs to be some type of light above the stove/counter area. It is hard to see when cooking and preparing food. Other than that, great!

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Connette's Nest is located in Montreat. This home is approximately 10 minutes to Black Mountain and 30 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance . Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Connette's Nest is not “pet friendly”. Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet friendly property during your visit, you will be charged a minimum of $600 to clean carpets, upholstered furniture and complete air purification measures. Bringing a pet to a house that is not pet-friendly without owner consent or permission from Greybeard is grounds for termination of the rental agreement without refund. If you must travel with your pet, please contact us for local boarding recommendations. More info about service animals and the ADA is available here.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival. Early check-in is not available during the summer conference season. 

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

You will pick up keys from our Black Mountain office, located at 204 East State Street. Keys will be available starting at 4:00 pm. If you are arriving after hours, you will receive instructions on how to access the safe on our front porch. There will be an envelope with your name and house name at the top. Your keys and driving directions will be inside the envelope.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WILL THERE BE FIREWOOD AT THE HOUSE?

Firewood is not supplied by Greybeard. Some houses will have a small supply of firewood for renter use; however, it is best to purchase your own small bundle of wood or Duraflame pressed logs at the local grocery store.

Cutting branches, limbs or trees on the property is strictly prohibited. You can use limbs found on the ground. Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Connette's Nest. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
