Regular Montreat guests recognize the value of a vintage Montreat home, and Sunnyspot Cottage fits that bill completely. This lovely 4-bedroom, 3 bath home, with its clean lines and meticulous preservation, provides that authentic feel that Montreat lovers adore. With stone fireplaces and two separate sitting areas, Sunnyspot provides ample room to enjoy the Montreat mystique.
On the main floor, guests can enjoy a stone fireplace in the living room as well as a large dining area. The kitchen, with its farm sink and a traditional, classic gas stove, provides the ambiance of old with the convenience of modern. While the kitchen looks like you’ve stepped back in time, the functionality will have you thinking you’re ahead of your time. A small den with a fireplace complement the two main-floor bedrooms. Upstairs there a second with a large screen tv as well as two more bedrooms, one with two double beds and one with a king. With the room configuration, there’s plenty of space to gather as well as areas to find serenity.
The outside of the home has a similar use of space with a large wide porch on the front and a back patio that features cozy stone fireplace. With ample off-street parking, enough for three cars outside the carriage house, and another on-street parking slot, there’s plenty of room for guests though this home is not appropriate for youth groups. If you take a glance at the virtual tour or the photos provided, you’ll get a great sense of the meticulous elegance of this lovely rental home. And with its convenient location, just behind the post office, you may be able to park those cars and not need them again until checkout.
Montreat, for the uninitiated, is small, accessible community that began as a mountain retreat (thus, Mon-treat) in the early 1900s. With extensive walking paths and no stoplights, it’s a wonderful community to enjoy the natural mountain beauty and wildlife. Asheville area activities abound and are easily accessible from Montreat. And if hiking is your thing, there’s some wonderful trails available in the Asheville area and particularly in Montreat. To check those out, look at this webpage and notice the level of difficulty each has. Stroll to Lake Susan and visit the ice cream shop or drive a few miles into Black Mountain or Asheville. Montreat makes a quiet, peaceful location from which to explore the western NC mountains.
