Great Montreat family home with 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on Oklahoma Road. Quiet, relaxing location within a short walk from the center of Montreat. Bright, open interior features a large family and dining room with a fireplace. A second living area, also with a fireplace, makes this home a perfect getaway for extended family gatherings (groups are not allowed). Large porch with great views, and furnished patio call for fun times outdoors.

HOUSE LAYOUT: Upstairs- kitchen, living room, BR with a queen, BR with a queen, adjoining bath. Middle floor: living room, BR with queen, BR with twin bunk bed, full hall bath. Downstairs: BR with two twins, full bath (shower only). Drive-up parking for two cars with parking for two more on the street.

PLEASE NOTE: This house does not rent to groups. Also, the house does not supply linens (sheets and towels) but they are available for rent through Greybeard Rentals.

Great Space for Building Community

Overall

Next Door is a large home with plenty of separate spaces for finding your own spot for quiet or gathering with a couple of others to play games, etc. We used the house to bring several church leaders to a conference. We cooked together and enjoyed sampling foods from around the world. The furnishings are comfortable and simple. The biggest challenge was the currently un-paved road which became quite a mess as it rained all week long.

The cottage was roomy enough for our eight family members to spread out comfortably. The kitchen was well equipped and the appliances were quite new. We liked the dining room - living room - kitchen arrangement ; it was where we spent most of our together time. The porch was fantastic as well. All in all, it was just about perfect for our family get-together.

This is a lovely, well-appointed home goods for a family gathering. It is well up from the valley, but has parking for 3-4 cars and is an easy walk to the Lookout trailhead. I recommend this home if you don't mind driving back from the Lake or a steep walk.

We had a great week staying in Next Door. The views were amazing. There were some cobwebs and spots that needed cleaned and we did have to call to turn on hot water, fix a bed and a dishwasher but we really enjoyed the house.

Next Door was the perfect house for our holiday weekend getaway. We had 4 families (8 adults and 4 kids) and this house had plenty of space for all of us. The 2 living areas, 4 seasons room, and screened in porch allowed us to spread out and enjoy ourselves. The kitchen contained everything we needed to prepare our mails. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms were roomy. With the exception of the house being outdated, the amenities were great and we look forward to renting this house again.

We loved the Next Door house. It was a great size that accommodated a lot of us. The house has a little bit of a funky layout, but was perfect. The inside of the home is a little older, hence why the condition and cleanliness got only 4/5 stars from me. However, we were very pleased with everything. Loved this house. Will definitely be back.

We had a great time! The walk up the mountain was a little long for my younger children, but doable. Most days we drove to clubs though. We had a deer come up to the window one day when the kids were home for lunch. Great house for a couple of families getting together in Montreat! Thanks for having us!

The layout of this house is great for our group of 10. Everything flows well and the key pickup/drop off could not be easier. The pumpkin bread welcome gift was delicious. The kitchen is fully appointed, but the oven needs a second rack and calibration. We had a a wonderful time and have already booked for next year.

This is second year we stayed at Next Door. The boys had easy walk to clubs
It is spacious and great for kids to be on one floor and adults on another.
Fun porch area. The girls used it for their art work. You feel you are in the woods. Can not even see another house or road in sight.

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Next Door is located in Montreat. This home is approximately 10 minutes to Black Mountain and 30 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance . Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Next Door is not “pet friendly”. Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet friendly property during your visit, you will be charged a minimum of $600 to clean carpets, upholstered furniture and complete air purification measures. Bringing a pet to a house that is not pet-friendly without owner consent or permission from Greybeard is grounds for termination of the rental agreement without refund. If you must travel with your pet, please contact us for local boarding recommendations. More info about service animals and the ADA is available here.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival. Early check-in is not available during the summer conference season.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

You will receive check-in instructions prior to your arrival with driving directions and key access information. You do not need to stop by our office to pick up your keys. You will go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WILL THERE BE FIREWOOD AT THE HOUSE?

This home does not provide a fire pit. Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit.

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Next Door. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
