With 3 bedrooms, all with Kingsdown mattresses and full en suite bathrooms, comfort abounds. On those inevitably rainy days, select a book from the owner's preferred collection, take a board game out to the screened-in porch, hang out in the garage-turned-game room that boasts foosball, darts, and cornhole boards, or settle into the family room that boasts a 75" smart TV to enjoy a movie marathon.

For outdoor enthusiasts and avid hikers in the group, The Gate House is a mere 100 yards away from the 30-mile trail system that runs through Montreat and accommodates every skill level. The easy Gate Trail that follows Flat Creek winds under shady rhododendrons, along babbling streams, and ends at the gorgeous Lake Susan, while Lookout Mountain is a moderate to challenging trail that rings in at just under a mile long and offers sweeping panoramic mountain views. A couple of other favorite trails in Montreat are the moderate 1.1-mile Big Piney Ridge Trail and the epic 4.6-mile Graybeard trail that offers incredible views (especially in the fall during the peak color-changing foliage). After your hike, head into the quaint "Little Town that Rocks," Black Mountain, just 10 minutes away, to grab dinner at local favorite, Black Mountain Bistro, Fresh Woodfired Pizza & Pasta, or Que Sera & Tayloe's Oyster Bar.

Before heading home for the night, stop by Lake Tomahawk to catch an epic sunset over the Seven Sisters Mountain Range and glistening lake. If you visit the park during the day, pack a picnic to enjoy alongside the water while you watch the ducks bathing, or take time to play a round of tennis and walk the elliptical path that surrounds the lake. Ideal for families, youth groups, and Montreat Summer Conference attendees, this cozy pet-friendly home nestled alongside the historic Montreat Gate is within walking distance of Lake Susan, Robert Lake Playground, and Montreat Conference Center activities and offers something for everyone in the group to enjoy!

We loved our stay at the Gate House and would definitely rent again! Lots of space for our group including some friends who came over to visit. The front and back porches are perfect hang out spots. Furnishings and decor felt fresh and clean! Enjoyed the guineas and the Gate trail. Highly recommend!

Perfectly located for easy access to Montreat and it’s trails, as well as Black Mountain. Our family of five was more than comfortable in this house for the entire week.

We stayed at The Gate House (Montreat) for a week. Montreat/Black Mountain is such fun, plus a visit to Ashville. We brought our dog and there is a good dog park at Black Mountain. Gate House is a good size 3BR home with a nice front porch; the front porch needs a good cleaning. We will return to Montreat/Black Mountain and work again with Greybeard. Thank You!

What a peaceful and comfortable home, sited just above the Montreat entry gate. Immaculate. Living room with a gas fireplace and a den with a giant smart TV. And a very responsive Greybeard agency.

Spacious Stay Near the Montreat Gate

We loved the space this house offered. Large living area with a gas log fireplace which was delightful on our cold evenings! There is another room with a huge TV where we felt like we were in our own mini-theatre. The King bed was amazingly comfortable and we slept like babies. Kitchen needs a few additional items - only one small mixing bowl and no spatula for mixing. We always appreciate the services of Greybeard Realty!
